Maori people originated from Asian which is why he looks Asian. If you look at people from Kazakhstan (near Russia) for example you will notice they look like they could be half East Asian and half White because they're closely related to the Mongols (, and people often forget that Kazakhstan is in Central ASIA even though it has a distinctly Russian-sounding name.
