@@DjResR HID lamps (and especially high-quality ones from good and well-known companies) can not only last a lot, but also for a very long time... There are many Mercury Vapor lamps that have been around for decades and still work. In short, HID lamps are HID lamps... Irreplaceable for me personally.

Hey Nagual, have you ever heard of a company called Sylvania ? There obsolete now but they made a par 38 mercury lamp a bit back 100 watts ?
Yes, I know the Sylvania company and I have one High Pressure Sodium lamp from them, which is 70W. But I don't have another one of them yet.
