Thanks for all your videos this season, they've been such a great resource as I've worked through this process! Hope you have a great holiday season and a happy New Year Dean Z! And please find it in your heart to forgive Admissions cat and give him some treats!
Now I understand why my daughter raves about you, dean Z. She’s obsessed. Hoping for an A for her. She’s an amazing writer ❤️, but I’m mom :) Go Blue!!!💙💛💙💛
Hi Dean Z and crew! I was wondering if, for next season, there could be a video focused on the changes the LSAT has undergone over the past few years. It feels like the LSAC is doing more and more to overhaul the LSAT, especially with the writing section potentially becoming scored within the next few cycles. Just an idea!
!!! Glad we could help you catch that! But in the end, it wouldn't have been that big of a deal. Just a common but minor grammar mistake that wouldn't really move the needle on your application.
Finally the grammar we have been waiting for! Here are some of my personal pet peeves / tips - Don’t use the word “that” when you don’t have to (I think that Michigan has a median LSAT of 171 --> I think Michigan has....) - Avoid linking verbs and passive voice (get rid of words like "is," "are," "was," "were," "to be," and so on. It makes your writing weak!) - Use “addictive,” not “addicting."
Dean Z's advice has helped me get accepted to 2 of my top choice law schools this cycle already! Hoping Michigan law is next :) Thanks Dean Z, Go Blue!
When I was adjunct faculty at two different community colleges, I always stressed the importance of being a good and persuasive writer (and someone being able to speak to your writing skills). Early in my career, I worked on the weekends (for extra cash) doing OCR clean-up. I wonder if I may do that kind of work again during the AI boom. Always funny to see Dean Z at home where she seems more like a schoolmarm. 💛💙
Hi Dean Z! Can you make a video on transfer applicants/applications? I hardly see videos related to transferring law schools. Would love to hear the pros and cons of doing so. Happy holidays!
Holiday language hypo: the charming admissions dean for a midwestern T14 sends out a warm letter encouraging students to apply. Extolling the virtues of the law school, the dean writes: “The many attorney attorney-counselors in our exceptional Office of Career Planning expertly help navigate numerous [employment opportunities].” Shouldn’t the writer say who is being helped - i.e., “help STUDENTS navigate…”? Please resolve this debate that is currently being waged in a place that will not be named.
is it possible to email you or contact you in private regarding law school questions? i’m a huge fan of your content! as a future law school student i’m have so many questions!! lol

I literally can’t tell you how excited I am for this episode. Grammar with Dean Z - can we make this a weekly thing 😂
I wish! We're open to suggestions on grammar topics for future episodes though!
- words you’re probably using wrong
- top grammar peeves
- punctuation (em dash, comma, colon, semi colon, quotation marks, brackets)
Nothing like a Dean Z video to celebrate surviving finals!
Oh goodness! I just finished finals and have been waiting for a new Dean Z to celebrate! She keeps me motivated to get to law school
Hope your finals went well!
I am disturbed by "plural gerunds." For example, "trainings."
Season 4 idea: have guests (students, staff, faculty) on the show with Dean Z!
Best Christmas gift ever!! Thank you Dean Z.

We love a cameo by admissions cat!
We would include him more often if we could!

season 3 is over too soon! already excited for season 4
Thanks for watching! Please let us know if you have ideas for season 4
Dean Z, could you please do a video for international students ( international GPA and non-US citizens)? Thank You.
Amazing timing, I am listening to this right when I was about to press submit on my addendum that said “comprised of” in it LOL

This is exactly what I needed after my last law school exam! 😂 Thanks Dean Z
Congrats on finishing exams!!
I love talking about grammar. Call me weird.
You're in good company here
What would you recommend to learn how to write, short and to the point?

I would love to see a crossover episode with Bryan Garner from UTexas.
Cameo fulfilled.
Adding to the homophones - I hate seeing people say something “didn’t phase them”. It’s faze! And “peaked my interest”. It’s piqued!
Both very good homophones! Thanks for sharing
So cute stop it
