Now that is a good bike. And it's the tyres, not so much the size. Your bike has probably done more greenlaning than many big and heavy adventure bikes. Thank you Dan!
I take my MT-09 on a good bit of gravel. Pretty stable given the low center of gravity compared to ADV/enduros. Handles it surprisingly well except for potholes. Glad to see you doing the same!
I did this in New Zealand with my SV650 and would not recommend. Managed to cause a lot of dings and dents to my radiator due to loose stones and stuff being thrown up.😢
Nice one, now a question that fits this film: your pick sv650 or RE scram? I am doubting between SV and Himalayan to replace my 1994 xj600. Why the RE: 30km per liter and E5 emissions label. Why the SV: I place that in the same ballpark as my xj but is E4. Will I miss the "power" on the RE or what will fuel costs do compared to riding in ULEZ in the future. I commute 5km in good weather, do a small ride of max two hours on a Sunday If I find time and sometimes find myself having to cross a green lane or take a detour. I do not consider myself a die-hard biker offroader or worldtourer. I just get out on the backroads and an occasional busy highway to have some fun and get away from yelling kids and a wife with a broomstick. I am looking at young used and know about the new himalayan450, but that's not in my wallet (and prefer the looks of the 411 model)
That thing prolly isnt much less offroady then 1st gen cb500x and people consider that normal on these easy trails. Judging by your count of 😂 and 😅 it did just fine.
Dan were you inspired by a different UA-camr to test your SV out to see if their footage was real? 😂 enjoyed the video made a change & could hear you enjoying yourself
Easy off-road on anything. I did a more demending off-road on my Yamaha MT-01 a few years ago. But only once, and it was because I ran out of road. 1990
Excellent vid! I find this sort of stuff way more interesting than new bike reviews. Looking forward to your off-road spec SV!
More to come!
When we were kids we used to go offroad with vespas , honda cub 50, honda superdream .
Just any banger bike lol

In that enclosed space the v twin engine note came across quite nicely.
Low capacity supermotos are great fun for green laneing. I spend many nights down a muddy lane with my mates 😂

Would you still not recommend if the bike has a rad guard?
Taking a brand new shiny SV 650 off road! Sounds like something I would do.
Brilliant, calling a fly a twat was the highlight
He deserved it 😂

Nice one Dan!! 👏
Hi Dan do you prefer feathering the clutch method or rev matching when downshifting ?
It would be very helpful if you do a video on this topic.
I do both, depending on the situation and road conditions.
That was great! Thank you.

CBF1000 also does this kind of offroading
IS that b4 or after or during the chase? Been there Mate, 🔨 my bike was a bit worse for ware?
I like green laning, and I like the SV650... not sure I'd want to combine the 2... although you looked to have a lot of fun doing so! 😀
I'm not particularly sensible at times. I wouldn't do it in worse conditions, and now that I've done it, I'm good to go back on the road! :D
@@Englishbikerdan 😁
Fun! If you had a budget of £2,000 to improve the offroad capability of the SV650 how would you spend it? Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
A good bit of fun but was that edging or rimming?😅
A question for the ages! 😂
I love the intro music 🎶 cumbia!
Glad you liked it! :D
Good job Dan! Very influential! I’ve now gotta find som GL’s round my, way for my KTM SAS. Cheers pal👍🏻

nice road!
What seat is the one he has on the video?
It's the Bagster seat. About £300 though!
I like bike!
Me too!
Who did your seat?
looks like a bagster seat
@@RichardHowseman Yep, I did mine, and it took three attempts before I was satisfied!
Baster. 👍
not Bronson LOL
Hope he doesn't watch this! 😂
Don't mess up your SV riding it off-road
It's all good, it'll get more messed up with riding it on our terrible pot-holed filled roads!
Yeah but with the cylinder so close to the ground a big bump could damage the engine.
