  • Carrying spares with you when you go out window cleaning can save you from loss of income and a lot of aggravation. You don't need to carry much with you but a few simple tools and items that can get you going again if something breaks.

You are right if it were not for the information you provide on your channel I would not have started window cleaning as a job. Everyday I go out to work I have you to thank for building my own WFP system and getting a wagtail squeegee.

Better to not need backups most of the time, than needing them and not having it. 2 is one.

Some great backup kit! I have a Leatherman Wave multitool in the belt, another in my pocket. In the parts box some other tools and spare parts, tape too.

Yoyo 895. I have honda accord saloon. In the car I have 6× 25l barrels I never carry them they are always in the car. In my garden I produce water into 2× 200l barells. (No need to watch it). In the 200l barrel I have submersible 230 v pump from screw fix( around £50).hose and deliver water in the car barrels. To fill backpack I use hose and my mouth...

Nice video Wagga. I use a 20ltr with a Bucket Boss organiser www.bucketboss.com/bucket-organization with Ronan cutters, spare rubbers, tools etc, with everything I might need. I use it on insides as a kinda base. Thanks for all your experience and good advice.

Can I ask you Chris what it was about van mount delivery you didn't like? I'm currently backpack & barrells and I'm not convinced van mount means more prifitability. I like the flexibility of the backpack; it's like a mobile van mount! BUT pure water production is annoying and time consuming into barrells - you have to keep switching the hose to each 25L barrell as they fill and then there's the lifting. I'm thinking of getting a van, putting in a 650L tank but just pumping into the backpack to clean. Gets rid of the lifting element and makes filling with pure less hassle. Any thoughts?

Hi, its just that it actually took longer to drag the hose round some of the houses and was always getting snagged. Then there is the problem of always moving the van and the costs of owning a another vehicle. For commercial work I would recommend a van of course because it becomes a capacity issue at the end of the day. You just won't have enough water. As for lifting of barrels, I only fill them so much and then there is a knack to it. Even at my age I don't find it much of a problem but yes your idea is a good one and you will be able to fill the backpack quickly. The other option is to use a pipe and just suck the end to get the flow going and just use gravity. Takes a bit of practice.
