    Thoughts: After nearly two years (yes, you read that right), I've received the January. This keyboard and the JJW Moment were my first-ever group-buy boards, but one came a year earlier than the other. Little did I know back then that Keebsforall would become notorious for handling group-buys poorly and shipping at an abysmally slow pace. Even if it wasn't their fault, a project taking almost two years from their group-buy closing date is unacceptable, and I hope no one in this hobby pulls this stuff off again. It genuinely killed off any hype I had for this board.
    Now, onto the board itself. Unfortunately, I've tried out many 60% O-ring boards (and have the Jixte and Array for PC O-ring 60-65%), so for this to do something out of the ordinary and blow me away would be unlikely. And it's exactly as I expected. What I will say, though, is that because the weight is heavier than the Jixte or perhaps the different mounting points, there isn't this case of hollowness that I heard with the Jixte, which is a welcome change. It meant I could skip the poly-fill mod and keep it stock. Using the hot-swap PCB meant I assembled the entire keyboard in just 45 minutes. I wish the hot-swap PCB supported full backspace, but I suppose I should've seen that back then (though I was still new to the hobby then, so I didn't know to check for layouts). It's a good polycarbonate keyboard with an O-ring mount, but it isn't unique. It's an excellent baseline against which to compare others. I would consider this at MSRP (group-buy cost) or lower! The design is lovely, though, and I enjoy the subtle curvature on the sides.
    Well, y'all, I'm out of boards and switches to test out for now. Like I said in my previous video, I'm unsure when I'll post again. What will come first... the F1-8X V2 or another group-buy board I can't disclose yet? Oh! And I have a board I had reanodized coming in very soon, which I'm excited to finally build. It's been a while since I've had a top-mount 65%, and I think y'all will like the reanodization for it (it was pretty scuffed when I received it). I will release my next video on whatever comes first in the next few months. If I get switches to review, OFC, y'all will be the first to see that, but for now, I won't be going out of my to buy switches as I'm beginning to go back into "study" mode and focus more on that. Thank you all so much for your support and kind wishes, and feel free to comment. I'll see y'all soon!

    I went in on this as well, gotta commend artemis for their monthly updates, but KFA grossly mishandled everything (communication, shipping times, etc.). Sounds like tons of folks have had issues with missing items in their packages, such a bummer for folks after waiting way longer than expected!
    All that said, I love the board, and don’t regret the purchase! I think the PC version and copper weight help to dampen some of the higher end frequencies on cherry switches (like these Nixies) in a really satisfying way.

      I did not hear about KFA mishandling January's extra parts, but I'm not surprised. I believe people had similar issues with their Zoom! How they continuously get away with it and continue to bring new GB partners absolutely bewilders me, but it is what it is. I totally agree, though. Copper weight with PC boards is the move. As long as the weight is relatively heavy, they sound good!

      @@JadedJawneeyeah, it was definitely a different time two years ago, but it seems like KFA is way overcommitted based on their apparent staff size, and it really doesn’t make sense to me that they’re continuing to offer more GBs when they’re struggling with the fulfillment of their outstanding GBs. Hope they get these issues resolved for existing (and new) customers before it further degrades the experience for folks in this hobby!

    👀👍!
    wow i completely forgot about this board. i remember when this board was still in ic and i had joined the fbtkl "preorder" that was supposed to take about 3 months to fulfill, which in fact, did not. It took about a year to fulfill, and they still messed up the olive ano too. which was when i realized never do gbs with KeebsForAll and only buy instock from them. Ill be excited to see that top mounted 65 and f18x v2!

      Thanks for the kind words! I'm also excited for the following boards to come in. And, yes, KFA is problematic, which I'm glad the community has caught onto.

    Got tracking for mine but still hasn't shipped :( Crazy how i joined the GB when i was first getting into the hobby and how my preferences have changed since then.

      They didn't send me an official tracking update. I got a follow-up email noting something went wrong with tracking, and they provided me with the USPS number in a separate email. I have to agree with you-so much has changed since I joined this group buy. It's such a shame that I found something like it before it finally arrived. :( I'm honestly a little stumped on what to use it for.

I did their Back Plate Weight Sandblasted SS Combo with their 60% PC Frosted case. The PCB provided is solder but can be easily mill-maxed, so you keep the RGB PCB. I hope this helps! I think there's also a 20% off sale this week with code "PK20". Cheers!

    2.5 years? I thought the gb was in 2022. still took way too long tho
    I wonder how bakenekogo compares to these premium pc oring 60s

    • @JadedJawnee
      @JadedJawnee  Місяць тому +1

      After checking, you're right! I joined the group buy in November 2022, so it's been nearly two years. I hope this kind of keyboard can become accessible with the Bakanekogo. 😔

    • @oakerface95
      @oakerface95 Місяць тому

      i personally think that the weightless bakenekogo will sound much more different compared to premium pc orings 60s, but i think it'll be a much roomier sound profile since theres no weight in the bakenekogo.

      @@oakerface95 Wait. You are so right. I rechecked the Bakaneko60 case, and because it doesn't have that internal weight, I'm not sure how the sound will sound. Anxious to hear more sound tests on it now.

      The group buy ended a while ago, but units are finally shipping out in North America. Check the aftermarket for them, as I'm very confident we're going to start flooding the market, haha. This was a big group buy at the time because it was unlimited.
