Totally agree. At $99 on amazon for the drone, and $89 for the controller on banggood it's hard to find a better pocket drone. Also it's important to stay away from large metal objects, and get away from areas with radio interference.
Hi, great review! Do you think the drone could follow a car at moderate speeds, say, on a mountain pass? Have you figured out the obstacle avoidance? Thanks
Maybe but I think it would struggle even high end drones often struggle unless controlled manually. No from what I could tell it didn't have it I could not see any options and it would let me fly into things
im late to this party thanks for the review really helpful as i have been deliberating on a Dobby or S6 or Tello and still on the fence - do you think Dobby might be similar video quality and stabilisation as S6?
I'm off to Vietnam and Thailand and drones are kinda baned. So rather then buy a Mavic air and loose 900 I want a cheap drone to capture some scenes on the beaches . Worth it ? I've seen they have Amazon sale 99 us dollars . How to tell what the upgraded model is ?
The S6 is made from the most brittle plastic I have ever seen so do not crash land or hit an object, flying in doors will end in tears as the optical flow does not work. You have to ask the question why is what appears to be a high speced drone reduced from £300+ to a 100+ price? Obstacle avoidance is a total myth as it was never implemented .Wingsland have given up on this drone and that is why stock is being dumped at a lower price.Buy a ZeroTech Dobby it does exactly what it says on the box and is a superb performer.
Excellent video. I'm looking for a pocket drone to use in my travels to take some surrounds in a good quality. This seems to be the right one: Cheap+Video quality+Size. My only concern is the battery. Do you have any update from the manufacturer or in the drone setup to get more flight minutes ? Maybe 8 or 9 minutes will be enough for me.. Thanks.
Thanks for watching, Im afraid not this was the weak point of this drone. Depending when you are going I have some more drones reviews coming soon of these two drone which look interesting - www.kickstarter.com/projects/markdrone/mark-worlds-1st-visual-inertial-odometry-positioni?ref=user_menu and this one - www.kickstarter.com/projects/1583318972/fairy-drone-the-ultraportable-full-hd-aerial-photo?ref=user_menu
Always Calibrate and fly in low wind , get extra batteries and the Wingsland R6 Controller for faster speed and greater distance plus great control

I want
The drone itself is very good, but the battery is terrible, not more of 3 minutes of flight.......unuseful, i will give it back.
Thats a shame my battery life wasn't as bad as that sorry to hear about your bad experience.
Who cares what the box it comes in looks like?
For me it could arrive in a shoe box wrapped in bog roll.
