This song defines life and love. I close my eyes and remember my younger years where my parents, brothers, and I would sit together and simply enjoy the simpler things in life; board games, walks, spending time in the yard with my dad and friends while mom made us dinner. A dinner that was passed down by grandmother, grandma would set the plates and feed us as kids with her own hands! But I remember one of the songs I had on that playlist was this song. So I was on the bus on my way to elementary school listening to this. Then, when I finally got my first touch phone, this was the first song I downloaded. I remember listening to this in elementary school and high school. ❤

Worry, not, friend. We are here now, and have the stories, old and new, with which we can craft ever greater works. The Summer night is still just as soft, if you know where to look.

“sweeter than wine, softer then the summer night” that lyric always makes me feel some type of way where everything is floating and im living in a dream
I don't fully agree with you. Even though now days music is trash, you still have to give credit to them for coming up with something with the beat. As for machines, it isn't the machines that make the music, people need talent to make music on software, such as music theory. I do think voice alterations suck, but the only thing I disagree with is the machines, 1950-1990 is the best years to me, but you still need to realize that people need talent to make music (still)
@@mstrrarhiv909 your right but life changes and i like to think of music as a reflection of the lives we live. its just now we have so many chasing fake lives the music suffers from it.
@Greg C lol not every musician buys the lyrics/beats. people such as: wstdyth, Days to waste, Sinxi, and a few other make their own beats, and make their own lyrics. and outside of that specific genre, you could go to Djs such as Cloudnone, Roy Knox, Teminite (which plays saxophone, keyboard, and makes his own "beats") so that's just a few of people who do have talent to make their own stuff. there are some people who pay for beats and lyrics now days, but not every musician
Try expanding your horizons? Old music is just better curated, every generation has been loaded w/ talent and nowadays it is so much cheaper to create art.
Just started listening to old school music from the 50s and 60s and found this absolute gem, however it’s 2 in the morning and that opening gave me the chills.
I was born in 2008 but I still really love these kinds of older songs like the 20's or 50's they're so beautiful and they bring me happiness, sometimes I'll sing to some 😊
This song makes me think of my husband who passed away a year and 4 months ago. He loved the drifters. I loved my husband. I remember the moment i fell in love with him.
Here's a cute story related to this song! One night at work, I was singing this song, and as it turned out, my coworker crush had sneaked up behind me to playfully try to startle me. But right after he sneaked up on me, I happened to sing the lyrics "Everything I want I have, whenever you hold me tight!" so when he heard me sing that, he instead scooped me up into a surprise hug! It was so cute and funny and made me blush and giggle like crazy! :)
I gotta say, I saw Ben E King before he passed when I was about 10 and it seemed like nothing had changed since the 50’s, he sounded and looked great. An absolute legend and great person. RIP 👑
Don't need no visuals, don;t need no movie, don't need no extras, to make us appreciate this music...we, from the golden days of satin, smooth rhythm and roll dug this way back when!
Love it. My parents grew up in the 50s and 60s and said they wish that they could go back to it all with the music, people, and better times growing up in Brooklyn and East Harlem.
Ziyah McGriff The fibers of your soul are attuned to the best the world music has to offer. 🌞 Keep growing and listening, Ziyah McGriff... you are doing great! 👍♥️🎤🎧🎼🎹🥁🎷🎺🎸🎻
Ben E. King and the Drifters in 1960 and Jay Black & the Americans 8 years later gave us two equally terrif versions of this great song. Two outstanding lead singers.
What happened to these sweet words that seem to have disappeared from our vocabularies, from our thoughts and from our very beings? Such a loss, because we no longer share these words, or offer the feelings behind these magic emotions with others. It is a loss to lose the “twinkle” that once gave our lives meaning. We are the rare few whose hearts still skip a beat when we can go back through this music to the best times and the best inside ourselves.
my mom is 70. she said that this is the music her parents listened to in the kitchen after dinner lol. watching her close her eyes and smile while she's having memories of her parents long gone. touches the soul
“Forever till the end of time-“ that line just makes me go blank, it’s probably my very shi*ty childhood only comforted by good friends I still have, but it makes me realize, my family never cared, they would abandon me the first chance they get, while my friends HAVE stayed with me all this time.

I remember when I was a little girl, this was still back in the early 2000s. So, I was still using flip phones to record songs I liked and creating playlists. But I remember one of the songs I had on that playlist was this song. So I was on the bus on my way to elementary school listening to this. Then, when I finally got my first touch phone, this was the first song I downloaded. I remember listening to this in elementary school and high school. ❤
The best part of this is his voice is in no way edited like it is today. Black males need to sing more today.
So do white ones..Lol😄
They'd be like,"laaaasssstttt nnniiigggghhhhtttt ______, laaaasssstttt nnnniiiiggghht, while making love to you usually, I saw the sun, the moon, the mountains, & the rivers, I saw heaven when I make sweeeeeettt loooovvvveee tttoooo yyyooouuu"
that reverb tho..
max8141 no ones gives two fucks
Yeah, instead of rapping in the same style as each other.
Judge me if you want, but this is the best song in existence!
Mine is Bobby Hatfield live " performance on Andy Williams show 1965....Unchained Melody..actually makes me shiver on the last15 seconds ...and EVERY one of the 1000 times I have played it. Truth be known,MOST of our really great music in that era came from our Black Artists..........
...their the *SALT OF THE EARTH*...
...season every thing they do.
FACTS ---
Love the classics and I was born in November 1988 classics better than what we have now
No one can sing This Magic Moment like the Drifters!!!
Exactly, can you sing??
Hello, how're you doing hope you're staying safe and okay?
@@smithjames5688 Doing ok how are you doing? As far as me singing some times I can and some times I can't.
@@yvonnesanders6988 smile that's funny, I would love to have a private chat with you but this isn't a private Portal. Can I have your email address so we can talk over there, if you don't mind
Got that right!
Love this song, how are you doing today?
This song makes me feel nostalgic for a time which I did not see. I don't know, nor can I explain, but hearing this song makes me feel like something of immense value is lost now. Forever. And will never return.
March, 2022.
Worry, not, friend. We are here now, and have the stories, old and new, with which we can craft ever greater works. The Summer night is still just as soft, if you know where to look.
i remember this from my dad's old cd
My Dad's music . I cherish this music like I cherish him . He still listens to The Drifters. Regularly. ❤
This was the music of my teenage years, How Blessed were we!
I'm 80 and this song made so many fall in love on the dance floor. Ben E King was the greatest.I actually met the drifters when I worked as hostess at dinner theater..
but Ben was not with them then.
Hello Nancy, How are you doing?

Bobby walking up to his family hugging his baby girl after his first kill on the Sopranos season 6 part 2
One of the best shows ever.
Yes sir
It wasn’t his first but it was a magic moment hugging his baby girl
@@Lee2k4 it was his first kill
Just watched this episode tonight , powerful scene, Bobby’s no killer , tony did that to prove he has control over him after he blindsided him on his birthday
This Magic Moment is Eve of Christmas 1977. My wife and I first met and it's clicked. Wow... it's 42 years and still is magic tonight 24 Dec 2019.
Timeless Beautiful Classic‼️‼️‼️ " I knew that you felt it too, by the look in your eyes"🎯🎯🎯🔥❤️🔥🔥‼️‼️‼️
I grew up on this music & 2024 brought me here 😌
“sweeter than wine, softer then the summer night” that lyric always makes me feel some type of way where everything is floating and im living in a dream
Nagyon szeretem ezt a dalt, mindig jó kedvet csinál és romantikus hangulatot❤❤❤❤
My first time ever hearing this song was on the Sandlot, now I’m in love with it
When music was music. No voice alterations no machines.
And it was REAL
@Greg C lol not every musician buys the lyrics/beats. people such as: wstdyth, Days to waste, Sinxi, and a few other make their own beats, and make their own lyrics. and outside of that specific genre, you could go to Djs such as Cloudnone, Roy Knox, Teminite (which plays saxophone, keyboard, and makes his own "beats") so that's just a few of people who do have talent to make their own stuff. there are some people who pay for beats and lyrics now days, but not every musician
Try expanding your horizons?
Old music is just better curated, every generation has been loaded w/ talent and nowadays it is so much cheaper to create art.
love these guys. I met Benny in person, at their home in '73! :)
Imagine having a voice this wonderful
THIS MAGIC MOMENT..FOREVER TILL THE END OF TIME...IT IS SEPTEMBER 2019...ANYBODY ELSE FEEL THE SAME WAY?
yep,
Yep. The pandemic is almost over.
This song makes me cry because I have experienced such a moment, but now I know that I'll never have such a moment again.
Just started listening to old school music from the 50s and 60s and found this absolute gem, however it’s 2 in the morning and that opening gave me the chills.
HOW DOES THIS NOT HAVE A MILLION LIKES!? I love my metal but man this is where it was! Still lovin this Dec 2017
Absolutely beautiful song . ❤kinda makes your senses tingle with anticipation of feeling Love ❤❤❤❤
Hi Deborah 💐💐
I was born in 2008 but I still really love these kinds of older songs like the 20's or 50's they're so beautiful and they bring me happiness, sometimes I'll sing to some 😊
Growing up with this song of Ben B King and The Drifters was awesome from 1960
As if your like 60 or 70

Nice dude good choice
She say yes?
Wholesome. Needed to read this ^_^
@@Madecarnival66 awww! Glad that reading about it made you smile! :) Having it happen to me certainly made me smile as well, hehe!
Cute,Liz......................
There's a memory if I ever heard one,
Elizabeth Hyde what happened after that? 😂
I gotta say, I saw Ben E King before he passed when I was about 10 and it seemed like nothing had changed since the 50’s, he sounded and looked great. An absolute legend and great person. RIP 👑
His " Stand By Me " is another tremendous example of his incredible talent..........
Nothing short of FABULOUS, and always will remain so, were The Drifters. ❤
Don't need no visuals, don;t need no movie, don't need no extras, to make us appreciate this music...we, from the golden days of satin, smooth rhythm and roll dug this way back when!
I can’t even explain how this song makes me feel. NOSTALGIA
Me to bro, me to.
Love it. My parents grew up in the 50s and 60s and said they wish that they could go back to it all with the music, people, and better times growing up in Brooklyn and East Harlem.
I'm 11 I love old school music most people are so surprised that I know these songs by heart
Ziyah McGriff brah same
Good for you. You got great taste in music.
Ziyah, they don't understand that you dance to a different "Drummer."
Ziyah McGriff
The fibers of your soul are attuned to the best the world music has to offer. 🌞 Keep growing and listening, Ziyah McGriff... you are doing great! 👍♥️🎤🎧🎼🎹🥁🎷🎺🎸🎻
Back when they made Music,my young Friend......love the Violins !
Such a beautiful song. I grew up in the 80s, wishing it had been the 50s.
Ben E. King and the Drifters in 1960 and Jay Black & the Americans 8 years later gave us two equally terrif versions of this great song. Two outstanding lead singers.
Gee; this brought back many good ole motown memories for me; here in detroit. These guys rocked it bigtime. Thank you!!
It's so amazing, you should try rocking it with a thought of something magical...
Hey, how're you doing hope you're staying safe and okay??
Hello
Same here, i hope all is well with you?
As TEENAGER WHEN THIS SONG CAME ON THE RADIO IT WAS ONE OF THE (FIRST) SONGS TO USE STRINGS IN POP OR R& B TUNES. RESPECT TO THE DRIFTERS. 💘
So glad I was old enough 2 be in the world of the Drifters at this time! Everything they sang was a Magic Moment!
my mom is 70. she said that this is the music her parents listened to in the kitchen after dinner lol. watching her close her eyes and smile while she's having memories of her parents long gone. touches the soul
“Forever till the end of time-“ that line just makes me go blank, it’s probably my very shi*ty childhood only comforted by good friends I still have, but it makes me realize, my family never cared, they would abandon me the first chance they get, while my friends HAVE stayed with me all this time.
One of the best melodies in history should have 3 billion views, not 3 million...
