The Steven Universe series is an emotional freight train. It starts out slow, picks up steam, and then KABOOM! There's no stopping the feels. All the feels. Watching the entire series from beginning to end is such a cathartic experience. I honestly wish I'd had this series growing up. What a beautiful way to teach emotional intelligence.
Adventure Time goes hard. Once it picks up and follows one main story, it will get you just as emotional.
This show was such a masterpiece. The courage to talk about these topics, targeted at kids, the way they challenge you emotionally with the issues they fight. the way Steven expanded on corruption by going through a crisis. and ultimately things had to get messy for him to become ready to move forward.
Also how they identified the problem with people reacting to your crisis by focusing on themselves.... This show is too good for this world.
The finale was so emotional! I’ll always love this show with all my heart

Being able to rewatch SU and Future (which I usually skip in my anual rewatch because it leaves me wrecked as I am now) with you, listening and sharing ideas, curiosities and theories (even when I wasn't in my days to comment here), make company and witness every little change in the channel and in your lives (and mine too), it all has been more than a pleasure. As this show and many other good endings point out: finishing a chapter is a start of a new one. See you soon and love you all
Not sure why, but I only got emotional the first time I watched this... in rewatches, I just feel an "Aww" 😅 but, things like "Leaves from the Vine" and Hazel saying goodbye to Grace (infinity train) always get me 😢
I see Steven's situation in this episode as like... y'know how there's multiple different ways you can get meningitis? There's bacterial meningitis, viral meningitis, and fungal and parasitic versions too. They're all the same condition because they express the same measurable symptoms, but they have different root causes. Well, I see corruption as that. Corruption is the term for a Gem condition (loss of cognizance, form warps into an exaggerated bestial shape, just a bunch of fight vs flight instincts), and there's legit just multiple things it can stem from. The Diamond attack on Earth causing immense psychic damage to the Gems remaining on the surface is one... and Steven's intense crisis of self coupled with his particular blend of emotion based shapeshifting is another.
Wow you two made it to the end! I really hope Paula enjoyed her first watch through. I’m sure Kat had a fun time re watching it with her! What an amazing show. Time to watch it again! 😂

Please do Bluey. The episodes are only seven minutes long and it is an amazing show. It's wholesome and sweet, and so awesome. Watch two episodes and I guarantee you'll be hooked.
I wanted more lore. I wanted more fusions. I wanted more battles. I wanted to see different corners of this universe, and the potential places new stories could go like Lars of the Stars or Homeworld. There were so many things I wanted Steven Universe Future to be, but regardless, I am so glad it ended up being what it was. This story was love. Not an act of love, or a labor of love (although both of those apply as well) but it was love, period.

Has Paula really not experienced any of your Bipolar disorder, during all the times you've recorded reactions and just hung out? Because it's seems like you have to explain it and the scenarios to her like you've only known each other in the last 2 years.
Lots of time I go into explaining it so those who are watching can either learn about the disorder or feel not alone in it if they are going through similar things. Also, Paula and I have been friends for almost 6 years now. She is well aware of my disorder and has seen me through some very difficult times. But there is a lot that I kept behind closed doors (especially before my diagnosis) because of shame, embarrassment, and not wanting to ask for help.
I will always continue to openly discuss it to help de-stigmatize the conversation and topic of mental health. It's not just Paula I'm talking to when we record these reactions, I'm also talking to an entire audience of people who I feel would benefit from hearing these stories.
