Man slaps imam at Masjid Negara 18/9/2015

Friday prayers at the Masjid Negara today had to be stopped midway and repeated after the mosque’s second imam, Mohd Zuhairee Mohd Yatim, was slapped by a member of the congregation.
The incident took place during the first rakkat when the imam was reading the Fatihah, after which a man, believed to be an Arab, lunged forward and slapped the imam.
According to a witness, the man then tried to grab the microphone, screaming “You go back” repeatedly.
In a video interview recorded by Astro Awani, the imam said security managed to detain the suspect.
The prayers continued as per normal after police took custody of the suspect.
There was also a bit of chaos outside the mosque when police attempted to bring the suspect out.
