The second the singing started I knew the voice and when Caligula took off the bird head I was soooo excited to see John Cameron Mitchell! Absolutely love him
misty, thinking that other people see her as desperate for love, runs out of the deprivation tank to immediately call the only person to love her. i know she thinks she's making progress but my god does she have some way to go. love her sm
YJ has always given me this Twin Peaks vibe with how many unanswered questions there are, but this scene for me confirmed that it will take the risk of just going on an odd tangent. Loved this scene.
this was the moment i knew i had nothing on this show. i couldn't guess shit, i _can't_ guess. i have no idea where the finale will take us, and that's just... delicious. brilliant scene that excelled at everything it wanted to do.
O fs, i mean its interesting in that it both makes her more innocent and more dangerous. I think from what we've learned that misty really doesnt revel in the violence, shes just not as effected by it as others, at least when she can mentally distance herself a little bit. She has some definite traits of Narcissistic personality disorder, and/or possibly antisocial personality disorder. But some people have traits like that and don't kill anyone, or even commit any notable crimes, and some who even do a lot of good things, or who you might consider fun people to be around, etc. Its not as simple as people want to make it, where all those people are just murderers and criminals.
@@MantasticHamsAgreed that she doesn't have a stake in the violence, but as you say she seems hardly effected by it. Part of it, I think, is because she doesn't carry baggage around with her as much as do the others. She moves on, which makes her look insensitive and unaffected. The other thing I think to remember is that sometimes she really DOES help people. She would not see much difference between the good and the bad instances of her "helpfulness."
Seeing Misty’s trip is so much fun! The other characters are either having visions of an ominous deer-human, or of their dead baby and & eaten best. But Misty’s vision is of a delightfully goofy pep talk from Caligula 😂. Though I preferred when Caligula’s name was a fun, unsaid easter egg. Him overtly stating it feels a bit editorial. Why would Caligula be explaining the reference to her? She named him, so I assume she already knows it. It felt non-essential to the “you’re not a murder” pep talk, and accordingly, a bit distracting. Though the pep talk itself was hilarious!
While within the story it isn't necessary, I do think it made sense to explain to viewers. A lot of people won't be aware that the stories around Caligula were false and will take the name at face value and think it reflects Misty's dark tendencies, knowing the actual reason behind the name gives greater insight into how Misty sees herself
Also, the whole point of this scene is that Misty is always viewing herself from the outside. She is terrified of introspection (hence the fear of the sensory deprivation tank) and is overly invested in how she appears to others as a result. She wants outside approval from the ‘cool girls’ to an entirely disastrous degree (the black box, Crystal, Jessica) so it makes sense narratively that she should be doing expository work even in her self-talk. And Misty is an entirely fictional creature, even to herself, so Caligula has to do her self-talk for her.
This was incredible and unexpected and wow THANK YOU Yellowjackets crew, writers, actors, and John Cameron Mitchell for making this one of the best most memorable scenes. Loved it so much, was so out of the box, and so what I have come to expect from this show that always delivers and never disappoints!!! Bravo Christia Ricci you are truly the glue that IMHO is the base for all other adult Yellowjackets to get inspiration from and take this show to new heights!!!
We got human Caligula! Now we know why Misty chose that name for her parrot. Like Caligula, he was accused of committing many heinous crimes which he probably thought he was innocent of, just like how Misty thinks she’s innocent for all the wrongs she’s done 🦜
This WOULD be what Misty dreams up while in sensory deprivation. Love John Cameron Mitchell, too. Not to mention as a jazzy show tune, this song is a bop.
I loved how I thought Misty didn’t want to go into the tank because it would force her to really self reflect but when she did it’s turned into musical about how she’s done nothing wrong.
One can mistake this as one of episodes from Twin Peaks: The Return, which quite fitting in my opinion. Also this reminds me of Jitterbug Dance sequence from Mulholland Drive.
TBH I think something this over the top and out there really helps get mistys personality across, shes a complex one, and getting this look inside her head for once was a nice way to help us contextualize what the hell shes thinking in general. Knowing how overly theatrical her inner world is definitely changes my perception of her a bit.
This was absolutely batshit and so out of pocket. I loved it.
Me too!
i smoked right before this episode and i was so pleased w my decision the moment this began 1000/10
It was giving me very “The Name Game” from American Horror Story: Asylum.
Alt-Wes Anderson. A Wes Anderson nod lol.
@@lS-je3ud It's clearly Twin Peaks though.

I love that he takes off the bird head but still has a beak underneath.

I was hoping to see more TP moments like this.
Jitterbug Dance intro from Mulholland Drive
The red curtains are also reminiscent of the black lodge.

So weird and genius. Very Misty lol I love this character
Yes you read my mind Misty is everything in this show.
Twin Peaks ATE this week
Yes! Even down to the colours
Ricci and Wood actually make a really cute couple.
I knew she felt like a helper in her mind. If anything this just makes her scarier to me.

@@MantasticHams I think Misty has traits from a bunch of different personality disorders but doesn’t fit any one in particular
John Cameron Mitchell showing up tied this whole thing together.
🎉🎉🎉
That gum you like is going to come back in style
I picked the wrong week to quit sniffling glue 😅
This scene was jarring, surreal, and unexpected.. but it was perfect from a character development standpoint..
Lol yes it was when I first saw this I thought I was watching another show.
literally the most out of pocket scene of all time this is the least and most Yellowjackets thing ever at the same time

This came out of actual nowhere and I’m astoundingly amazed, we all love Caligula ❤️
I loved seeing the Queen card in the mirror ❤
The red curtains really give this scene a Twin Peaks vibe, which kinda goes with the David Lynchian weirdness. I love it!
I knew that was John Cameron Mitchell from the start such a great cameo!!!!❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Legend! ❤️❤️
The singing Yass! I love him! This episode was lovely 😊
bless misty's poor soul. SHE IS A CLOSER

I heard float spas like the one she was in, are good to let your mind escape and wander from the stresses of your world.
this will always be my favourite scene
She really Busted out of that sensory deprivation tank 😅
This was so The Good Fight, I loved it.
I still have a crush on Christina Ricci all these years later
I loved how I thought Misty didn’t want to go into the tank because it would force her to really self reflect but when she did it’s turned into musical about how she’s done nothing wrong.
You’d expect a hallucination trip in a dark water coffin would be creepy, but this is just hilarious 😂
Christina Ricci smile is goated.
Twin peaks 🧐
yeah she got that lara palmer in the red room vibe

This is amazing 😂
This is the best thing I’ve seen in awhile. 😂😂💝
I Love this so much!!!! 🖤 BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ 🐝
Anyone notice the plane emergency box?
This was the greatest lmfao
Misty is the sane one of the group.
The owls are not what they seem.
Yeah Walter is done for 😆
WHEN IS IT AVAILABLE ON ITUNES? Plus more musical numbers please.
Nice
I mean this has gotta be a reference to the beginning scene of mullholland drive, right?
This is misty mentality. It’s sad
Looooooove

Elijah Wood with the hips, ooh la la
Hilarious😊😊

Yes.

VAN CANCER?
Hopefully not. Maybe just an addiction.

11 out of 10. No notes.
Walters gonna end up dead
Thanks Caligula. I always knew I was special and a great friend. The Yellowjackets are really lucky to have me. 🥹
