A resolution to expand Palestine’s “rights and privileges” at the UN passes with 143 countries voting in favour, nine voting against, and 25 abstentions. Israel’s ambassador denounces the UN for “welcoming a terror state into its ranks”.
Some 110,000 Palestinians have fled Rafah, according to the UNRWA, since Israel began advancing troops towards the east of Rafah and intensifying attacks.
