How are the frets and the nut? Did they need leveling, how low can the action go without too much or any buzz at all? The guitar looks very nice and sounds great.
I did not have to do anything with the guitar, except clean it. I like my action low and it arrived with low enough strings for me. They can probably be lowered without problems. If all guitars are like mine there is nothing to worry about :)
A decent purchase, and after a little finessing it looks and sounds like a good dependable instrument. The lemon oil brought the fretboard to life nicely. Great stuff, and it got you shredding 🤘
Yea, you should always count on doing some work yourself but in the end, if the guitar looks and sounds great it will inspire you to play. And that is the best grade I can give it!
I ordered a customized LP custom from Cathy a couple weeks ago. I asked for a lot of high end details so I'm crossing my fingers it comes out as I spec's.
Hope you get lucky. Some get great guitars, other not so much. I ordered a custom guitar from cathy 6 month ago and got an unplayable piece of junk I'm sad to say. Every bells'n whistles I payed extra $ for she did'nt deliver. $500 in the toilet. Next time i will buy a used epi and mod it to my own specs. That's for sure.
I waited 5 months for a custom order. A Les Paul Special DC. Quite a few issues. I think she does better with her usual production stuff. She's getting pretty busy, and details on custom orders slip through the cracks.
Did you buy the Explorer? They should be ready to ship out at once. Then it is a matter of weeks depending on how fast it goes through shipping and where in the world you are. Often the transit time from China to US is better than China Europe.
@@TheworldofMattiasgood to know. I put in for a super rare build that Ive never seen at the end of August. Hoping I get some of the luck that you’ve been getting on all of your orders 👍
cool guitar man, i just put in an order few days ago for 2 les pauls, they were in the group order but cathy said they not stock she said they need to be built, so i think group order guitars are built as people order , they are not ready to go, even though it says on the listing they have 20 in stock they are not built yet , but i hope my guitars come out as nice as the pics on her site , i also ordered a sg with 50s rounded neck instead of slim taper
My friend orderd like 5 guitars from Cathy, and I just assumed china spied on him and told him they were named the same as his mother. Its a real brand, or person? Wild
I will never understand why there are so many Chinese guitar manufacturers who put the Gibson logo on their headstock instead of selling them with either no logo, or some other logo. This looks like a perfectly good guitar that can stand on its own.
I think so to! I asked and got the answer: We sell more guitars with the G-logo on the headstock. So it is the buyers that want it. I don’t think the builders cares.

how often did cathy send you updates on your guitar builds ?
Well, you have to ask her for it. If you do, maybe 2-3 times.
Hey, another Mattias here! Great stuff. Subscribed.
Hey Mattias! Great name you have 😊
Still so amazed how clean and organized your workshop is...😊
Thanks man! haha
Do you have a link to check out cathys guitars??
I think the best way is to contact her on Facebook. Her name in Cathy Zhong. Tell her I sent you and she will help you out. Good luck!

Another clear winner. What wood is fretboard made of?
Well, the specs say ebony. I would think either that or dark rosewood.
Cool looking Explorer tribute guitar. I like the Cathy logo. For 1/20th the price of the Gibson it looks like a bargan. Lots of room for mods and fun.
Yes, it feels really sturdy. Quite light but some quality feel for sure. I´m still waiting on an email from you ;)

I really hope you get a good one! LP models is her strength som odds are it´ll be good. The acoustic guitars is always very high end too!
Oh no! What a bummer!
Awesome! How long was the build/delivery time? Just placed an order a few weeks ago 🤘

Cool man! I hope you get good guitars! I have always been happy with what I got from Cathy.
nice guitar, but that pickup even looks bad after remounting, looks like the angle on the lower side of the horn in off
Yes, maybe not 100%
@@TheworldofMattias i meant pickguard xD sorry dude
No worries!

Cathy is a real person, not a brand 😊
Another? Hahahaha Nicd Mattias
Yeah, what am I doing hahaha!
What's up with the headstock? The shape is all wrong
Yes, if you want a Gibson headstock, it is not exactly the same :)
Gibson and epiphone have the shape you want
Out of any name to pit on a headstock, cathy would not be my first choice ngl
Well, you are free to choose what ever you like, thats the beauty of ordering from Cathy :)
Just ask cathy to change it... she would literally put "Gibson" on there if you want
Nice looking axe brother! Black and gold looks fantastic.
Thanks man! My next Cathy guitar will be a cream V! I’m looking forward to hear what you have to say about yours!

Because if the guitar (fools you) and says Gibson or Fender on it they can sell it for more.
