This was SO helpful. I'm in the process of re-vamping my bridal business for the new year and I really love the idea of creating that packet in Canva to send to brides once they book. Thank you for the tips!
I did finally watch your depotting video and I loved it. Currently I am binge watching all your recent videos, as I take notes on what I should do and not to do!
I’m glad you loved it!! As you are watching, just note that there is no “rule book” for running a business. You can do whatever you’d like. Some things may or may not work for you which is to be expected :)
I love this! Thanks so much for the inspo!! I made a MASSIVE, like 15 page prep guide for the preview/trial. I love it, but it got weird because the wedding prep guide is 3 pages 😂 I’ve been wanting to add a welcome package to move most of the pages from the trial guide over to a welcome guide.
@@julieruby well you definitely have that xtra specialness down !!! I’m a newly licensed Esty and I hope to be as successful as you in make up application, your truly inspiring .. so Thank you much ! 👍🏼👍🏼🫶🏼💖
Great video with insightful tips and details. Thank you for sharing them. Appreciate you taking the time to go through all this informations about your work ethics and expertise. I have learned a thing or two about the importance of creating templates like these and I believe it’ll definitely be of great help to me as I implement these tips into my business as well. Thank you❤
I loved this video so much! It's so nice to see how you streamline the process. I too send calendar reminders for each client so I can remember to send out follow-ups. Keep up the amazing content & videos Julie! 👏
@@julieruby Oh, I am working on it. I am super stoked about building my pro MUA kit. So much to do. Well, I am proud of you, Julie. It is so fantastic that you are moving up to the next level and expanding your education by pursuing Esthetics license. I am a Licensed Esthetician and aspiring pro MUA. Can't wait!! It's on, girl!! I hope you're having a great year, too. We got this!! 🤗
@@karmaalegre6478 Love your enthusiasm about this! Yes I pretty much went the opposite career path as most everyone else, but as long as we get to the end goal thats all that matters :)
🥰🙌🏾🎉🥳❤️Thank you for sharing Julie! I personally love Canva and have been using it for my welcome package, pricing guide and timelines. I even created a template for additional expectations. Completely obsessed with it. Also received positive feedback from clients.
Yay! I'm so happy to hear that you've implemented these ideas as well with your clients and they've worked really well :) All my brides so far that I've sent this to have really loved them!
As someone who does bridal hat and makeup also I much prefer dubsado as opposed to honeybook! Would recommend looking into it! Had more features tailored to makeup artists!
Thank you Julie! A very informative and inspiring video as always.. I was wandering if you could make a similar video showing the contract that you send to your clients for them to sign, if it's something you're comfortable sharing of course. I'm an mua myself, into my 5th year now (ups and downs) I'm not in the bridal field but I still find your videos very useful and on point!! love from Italy
Hi Roberta! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video :) I actually sell my bridal contracts on shopjulieruby.com. They're just google docs so you can change out and edit the wording if need be. I also have consultation and accounting templates on there as well. I spent a lot of years perfecting the contract so it's not something that I would share at no cost. I really appreciate your support and I'm glad that you are really enjoying my content!
Hey Julie, I was wondering whether clients sometimes get overwhelmed or scared off whenever they receive a bridal proposal, then a contract, then a questionnaire, a timeline, then a prep guide etc… I feel like brides might just want to book you as a make-up artist without all the fuss. In my country people aren’t as bothered with those things. I specifically had a question about the questionnaire, aren’t most things something you discuss with the client anyway at the preview? Also the timeline, why is this so important? With my brides, it’s often just the bride, the mother and sometimes a friend or sister, does that require a timeline too? Seems a bit overkill in my case perhaps?
Hi those are really great points and questions! I advertise this as an exclusive service provided by me on my website. Most of my brides have personally found it helpful :) Almost all wedding vendors that I know of require brides to sign a contract and put down a deposit to hold their date. It's very normal here! For the questionnaire, it let's me get to know them a little more as person before we meet so I don't have to waste the time to go over all of it in our appointment and we can get straight into the makeup.

Thanks so much! I think that's a great idea to turn some of your prep guide pages into a welcome packet :)
Do people actually read through all those 15 pages though? Isn’t it a bit too tedious?
So much great info !!!

Began freelancing a lil over a year ago.

Also make sure to check your state requirements. Sometimes you need a license to practice as a makeup artist :)
@@julieruby thank you so much! The current state I live in doesn’t require a license thankfully.
