Cheers . The Wife & myself had a vacation about 5 years back , we rode our bikes around Australia . 18,000 km trip in about 10 weeks , she rode the softail & i took my shovel ! 👍
It's nice to knock off a bunch of smaller jobs and make the list smaller. I have to agree about having the bench behind you when operating a machine. I always try to set my machines up like that. I also like to have a tool board at each machine to hang all the tools that specific machine needs (wrenches, parallels, chuck keys etc.). I wouldn't have been in any shape to run a circular saw this past Saturday either as my neighbour came over and helped me burn my wood/empty my beer fridge until 1 in the morning. Ran my lathe with no problems though. Ken
Far out Max, g'day mate, really enjoyed this one, nice to see a general fuckin about in the shop 👌 I tig for the sake of it, just to keep my hand in, and stock up on ground tungstens too lol
Also have mahogany double layered bench for lathe, changing that for steel & mahogany benches. Although mahogany is best on boats. Gloves protect hands from welding rays more annoying but finding the right gloves might protect. I like the large garden gloved Only have stick so make shore I weld opposite corners for framing, even just put 20mm finish taks on , I weld for purpose and anyway a set of 20 mm welds will save time. Like the coat , prefer no instructors cane as use to cop it at tech drawing Do like cane furniture. You could set a job up especially on a faceplate for a progressive video. Many machines so the ones that aren't be used alot could be perfect for a longer set up. Hex stock is great for making stud removers.
Hi Max, i have a lot of respect for circular saws, stay away from them when hung over. My Son is looking at the new Unimig Razor, apparently has AC for welding Aluminium. About 2 grand in Perth.
Looking good Max love your shop I have a 1200 ft shop but keep it pile up awfully bad I'm retired and used to repair mining equipment and electrical work inside the coal mine your welding makes me want to get a job going but seems like I can't get to one job for something else going on keep them coming max love to watch them
Max, you REALLY need to wear gloves on both hands. With TIG particularly because there’s no smoke which partly shields from the UV in MiG and stick. You get more UV therefore from TIG. I know that a lot of people seem to think that the worst you can get is a sunburn, but that’s not true. It’s melanoma that’s the problem and it’s a serious problem. There are at least two people on UA-cam who had problems with it from welding and both had skin removed from their arm’s and one is on cancer drugs from it. Even if you don’t weld regularly, it’s additive. Damage doesn’t go away and heal. I’m very careful when I weld. As we get older the damage comes more swiftly. I know this is preachy, but I hate seeing good people having bad problems. That’s a really nice piece of lumber. Do you know what it is?
Your right , i need to use the other glove . The wood is Jarrah . Grows here but takes along time to grow . It's classed as a hardwood . Back along time ago , it was a common construction timber . Replaced in construction now with treated Pine & LVL beams and light steel framing . 👍
I love tig welding but it’s definitely a lot harder especially for me because I have very shaky hands and I’m very good at dipping the tungsten. It’s so frustrating when I’m trying to do aluminum but I just deal with it. Nice welder by the way! I was gonna get the Everlast with the knobs but I ended up getting the Lincoln square wave 200 because my Lincoln mig lasted so many years. What a mistake that was! First one the keypad didn’t work, second one just stopped arcing so they had to give me the upgraded board. They knew they had a problem
Hey max on your Tig practice your right hand I'm the opposite I'm right handed but getting better with my left. The weld look good Cheers. Or as I say My best Tighe
I improved the air cooling, put in a proper filter where the Louvres are. Also upped the size on the cooling fan. Grit from the workshop sorts out the electronics too bloody fast in my shop.😊
Blimey, Aussie English can sound odd to us Poms. I was stumped by your 'Seco' tooling - then I worked out it must mean 'second-hand' (like 'arvo', etc.). Then you showed us the manufacturer's label. Doh!
I thought the same, even though I'm familiar with "Seco" products, and have worked at Seco Tools in Sweden, pre taken over by Sandvik. Best regards from the Black Country UK
Don't know how you can tig with no support on the torch hand. If I don't have support on my forearm or wrist I just as well clamp the tungsten in the vice and pull the trigger!
Hello sir! I have acquired a JFMT 530 x 2000 lathe but did not receive any documentation with it. Would you happen to have a manual and/or a wiring diagram for yours that you'd be willing to share or sell a scanned copy of?
The manuals are available on line . Early in the new year i could scan the electrical page . The manuals are copied from Mazac manuals and do not cover the rapid traverse wiring . I could probably try taking photos of the diagrams as well . Email me so i have a return email address . 👍
@@swanvalleymachineshop Yes, exactly. When you hit on the right combination, the welding is not so difficult, but when you don't one is soon all over the place.
Really enjoy your layout of jobs and technique of completion. BTW, the device which you refer too for cutting strait lines on plates and slabs is called a "radialgraph" here in the States. Used many of them in a Steel Mill I worked in after leaving college. They were quite expensive and failed often from excessive heat exposure; but were easily rebuilt. Thanks again for your time and thoughtful explanations. Also shop looks great.
Nice. Square tube fabrication. My favorite.
Mine too , no notching like the round tube ! 👍
Nice to get those odd jobs done, nice job Max.
It's a never ending list ! Cheers 👍
Great mix of work, love the notched table, I am on vacation!

Thanks for the video Max. Have a good one 👍🇦🇺
Cheers 👍
I have been doing housekeeping also. It seems to never end. Surprised you are still in sweater weather. It is getting cooler here.
The weather does not know what it's doing here Tom , one day hot , the next few cold ! 👍
Gday Max, one thing I lack here is bench space and a decent welding table, that was a good fix on the bottom shelf to, great job mate, cheers
Problem with benches is they accumulate stuff ! It's a real mind set to keep them clear . 👍
Pretty steady welding hands for a man of your "experience", Max.
Thanks 👍
very good job friend MAX
Thanks 👍
Enjoyed!
Thanks Chuck 👍
Those forks look good enough for a few more seasons, maybe longer LOL
In all honesty , they might !!! 👍

Funny , electric wood work tools always give me the heebe jeebies ! I worked on my big milling machine instead , less of a worry !!! 👍
interesting video max, thanks for sharing.
cheers ben.
Thanks 👍
Another awesome video max, from across the ditch.
Thanks 👍
G'day Max Yep work is never finished. the bench turned out well, with it even fitting into place. LOL
The shop & everything is looking really well.
Cheers Ted 👍
Good job max you never have enough benches and there always full with something
Too bloody true ! 👍
Thx for sharing
No worries 👍
Table fit like a glove, eventually. Classic lol Max, we all do them, thinking too hard. Best when nobody's watching, though. Cheers Tony
It happens ! Cheers 👍

Thanks 👍
Luv your tig-ing consumables

Some good stuff there . Cheers 👍
Thx for the vid.

I hate circular saws . Most electric wood working tools scare the daylights out of me ! 👍
*_Kudos on being able to freehand that tig torch as steady as you do. No way I can do that._*
Cheers 👍

Track torch is what we call straight line cutters here where live or a pattern cutter if they cut shapes
Also called Quick Cut's as well over here . 👍
Hard wotking man you are Max ...Great shop update ENJOYED!

@@swanvalleymachineshop Jarra is a very nice wood. A friend made some furniture with it a few years ago. Really, too nice for construction.
Nice tig welds. Great video

Well , i was alright until my brother gave me shit about wearing assless chaps when chain sawing ! 👍
Altogether too modest about your welding. It would be good to know your settings though - current, voltage, electrode diameter, wire feed etc.
They vary one each job , different thickness . If i remember i will mention it next time . 👍
