      tim knows whats up. I have been painfully going in and changing comp length and dragging key frames around for far too long. This just cut a ton of time out of my workflow! thanks for showing how it works Boone!

    First of all, thanks for the video.
    I understand that responsive design is handy for working within AE. Nevertheless, it's pretty useless in quite many usecases, if you want to hand stuff over to PP, like through MOGRTs. The problem is that audio in the composition breaks the whole construct, EVEN IF the audio is placed exclusively in the Intro/Outro sections. So there goes the sound effect of a reusable animation with variable length (depending on a voice-over, e.g.).
    Adobe knows this for years now and simply declares it a feature instead of a bug.
    Like always in recent years - it seems - half-ass solutions that fit well through the marketing trumpet, but bend and break instantly when put to the test in more realistic usecase scenarios.

    I was looking for a different responsive video like how to properly make a 1:1 and 16:9 friendly video . This is a different type of responsive but I like you for it. It's an awesome tip for workflow. everyone has to know about this.

    i was wondering if there is any way to use this principle but actually mooving all the keyframes and layers (with their in/out) directly in the composition, instead to need the timeremap option.
    I mean, i want to add 10 frames in the midle of a complex composition, with a lot of keys and layers that starnd and end in differents momentos, how to move everything

    I kinda hope they have an option of instead of "stretching" it will "add more time" to the comp instead. Like if you have a looped background for it, everything will be extended and moved without messing up the speed.

    I have a question: lm working on a instruction video and I found out how to do zoom a particular shot with camerazoom. however, I want to have that footage stay inside a laptop image that I have on top of it, so the footage will stay inside the area of the laptop image in the background. Now I zoomed it in but the footage falls outside the laptop image. How can I manage that I can zoom in but the footage will stay inside the laptop area?

    Thks for the tutorial. Have you had any issue with outro when you stretch the comp? I noticed a slight change in time. The stretched comp's outro is always slower when compared to the original one.

      Yeah, it's a little buggy now and again.

  • @IllusionSector

    Save for the visual feedback of in/out markers retaining their duration (and thereby indicating protected regions), as far as what the feature offers to solve in After Effects, this could've previously been accomplished via an expression added to time remapping. However, the fact that these regions now carry over to Premiere Pro mograph templates is certainly a big plus.
    Besides, I'm sure the non-scripting artists would appreciate the ability to set those regions without the use of expressions.

    • @BooneLovesVideo
      @BooneLovesVideo 5 років тому

      Excellent point. Anything to avoid expressions, I'm on board. However, when I played with the responsive design with mogrts in Premiere Pro, it was a bit buggy.

    • @IllusionSector
      @IllusionSector 5 років тому

      _when I played with the responsive design with mogrts in Premiere Pro, it was a bit buggy_
      The MoGrT/EG features in general, while awesome in theory, have been discouragingly buggy and ill-executed for me from the outset. I could go on and on about this.
      _Anything to avoid expressions, I'm on board_
      To be clear, I did not include *myself* in that category of non-scripting artist. I embrace the ability to write expressions because it makes me god. >:-)

  • @gregkrazanski
    @gregkrazanski 5 років тому

    it seems like an ok feature but I've been doing the exact same thing with time remapping for years. I suppose this does make it slightly easier, especially if it transfers over to motion graphics templates in premiere. Which I have no idea if it does

    • @gregkrazanski
      @gregkrazanski 5 років тому

      like the whole thing where you're saying "you can't make it longer", you definitely can with time remapping. Also I see at the end you say it does carry over to mgrt
