When will "The Satanic Panic and the Religious Battle for the Imagination" be available in the United States? I've been waiting for it to come out for a few years now, and was excited to hear that it came out but sad that it's only on Canada's Amazon Prime right now.
Thank you for recommending "Messiah of the Cylinder". I had never heard of it. But it is a shame you don't even mention "Lord of the World" by Robert Hugh Benson: the first dystopic novel, so influential, and also Christian! I imagine why you didn't. Very nice film tho!
Although some of her views are very sound in my opinion, I cannot agree that figures such as Buddha were fighting for good. Granted, while I'm not well versed in the scared texts-growing up Theravada Buddhist-one is certainly not dealing with spirituality given by GOD; it is the focus on oneself, finding "truth" through oneself, elevation and transcension through oneself alone, doing "enough" good works to avoid damnation, and willing oneself to do so by emptying oneself through meditation on self. This is expected of us-humans-with our sinful nature, us who in reality cannot help ourselves, who cannot help but to sin regardless of how hard we try, who cannot be emptied because sin will return unless we are filled with something better, who will never be able to pay the price for the severity of sin ourselves; who are only ever truly transformed, complete and forgiven in CHRIST. “You shall have no other gods before me." -Exodus 20:3 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," -Romans 3:23 "He must increase, but I must decrease.” -John 3:30 "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast." -Ephesians 2:8-9 This is without making mention of the grievous demonic doors which are opened through Buddhist practices; no spirit in Buddhism is in submission to the one true GOD of the scriptures, nor was Buddha himself. “Do not turn to idols or make for yourselves any gods of cast metal: I am the Lord your God." -Leviticus 19:4 "The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of human hands. 16 They have mouths, but do not speak; they have eyes, but do not see; 17 they have ears, but do not hear, nor is there any breath in their mouths. 18 Those who make them become like them, so do all who trust in them." -Psalm 135:15-18 "And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light." -2 Corinthians 11:14 For these reasons, while Buddha himself might've believed himself to be for good-as all of us did before we saw our need for our Saviour CHRIST JESUS-I cannot agree with the statement of Buddha and JESUS both fighting for good, taking the clear messages in scripture and personal testimony into account. "but God showed His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." -Romans 5:8
I watched The Fantasy Makers yesterday and The Science Fiction Makers this morning! So well done and so inspiring. Thank you for these!
I am not a Christian, but I enjoyed this video. Thank you for posting it.
Thank you for this excellent discussion of Christian belief within Science Fiction writing.
I absolutely love A Wrinkle in Time. It was the first time I realized how big yet loving God is and the vastness of the universe.
This has inspired me to write

If you release maximum 1 movie a day, its easier for subscribers to watch them and keep pace. Just a tip.

“You shall have no other gods before me." -Exodus 20:3
"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," -Romans 3:23
"He must increase, but I must decrease.” -John 3:30
"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast." -Ephesians 2:8-9

“Do not turn to idols or make for yourselves any gods of cast metal: I am the Lord your God." -Leviticus 19:4
"The idols of the nations are silver and gold,
the work of human hands.
16 They have mouths, but do not speak;
they have eyes, but do not see;
17 they have ears, but do not hear,
nor is there any breath in their mouths.
18 Those who make them become like them,
so do all who trust in them." -Psalm 135:15-18
"And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light." -2 Corinthians 11:14
For these reasons, while Buddha himself might've believed himself to be for good-as all of us did before we saw our need for our Saviour CHRIST JESUS-I cannot agree with the statement of Buddha and JESUS both fighting for good, taking the clear messages in scripture and personal testimony into account.
"but God showed His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." -Romans 5:8
Not pertinent.
