Note: I finished recording this video minutes before BG signed with Atlanta because of course lol. I figured she was gone, so everything said here is still relevant. A video on the BG signing coming soon also!
Natasha cloud to LA would actually work so well if they pull a trade for that off they are definitely in playoff contention. Cloud could also be better then whoever they get at 9th this draft so I might be worth it for LA if they really want to win RIGHT NOW
As soon as this trade happen, i was like Fever pick up the phone Bec Allen makes a lot of sense, and you can offer starting position+better facility and playoff exp
Cloud to LA just makes so much sense. Probably makes them a play off team. If I could, I had do Zia Cooke aari McDonald, the 9th pick in exchange for Natasha cloud and the 12th pick. It also gives zia a tanking team to actually play for and develop.
I think they will regret giving up Cloud (and doing her dirty). And we have yet to see how well the roster works around AT, she's a pretty unique type of player.
@clampsgiveup9235 yeah I'd be hesitant to sign long-term with a team that traded a great player who loved the organization and was actively recruiting free agents for them to a shitty organization
She was 200k, so it's not a big loss. They kept Sophie at 100k, and the production isn't bad. They can now afford getting a Center and DB to boost their roster. Having AT + Kahleah Cooper is basically overkill, and should let them tear teams. If they keep their options, they'd have great defense and scoring--provided they can just get that last piece at center.
AT going to Phoenix just moves the Suns below the Fever. Now Seattle and the Fever sit just below the ACES, Liberty, and the Lynx. AT didn't make the Suns a finals contender and she certainly is NOT going to make Phoenix one either.
Given what LA gave up for Plum, Soutou should bring a similar return. Phoenix does not have the assets. It would take 2 first rounders or 1 first round pick plus Sophia Cunningham because the picks would likely be late or at best mid round picks.
Yeah, Sophie, 2027 first & a 2026 second (or something like that) would have to be the package. NY's offer would be better / less risky if they could get Betnijah, but you never know, that 2027 first via PHX might be great
Interesting swap player for player AT and Cloud ,both sound defensively and elite more less in offensive creation while cloud is the better shooter /scorer .Another hidden piece could be the mercury's acquisition of the rights to klara lundquist from the mystics ,who last year was absoluting hooping for sweden ,well miss bec allen .
A sleeper piece could be Alyssa Pili.. Yes they really rack her over on the defensive side of the ball but I think she is far the most part good enough..there is always a fair share of missed shots and her offensive game has really not been showcased.. A standout player for the Utah Utes..scored 38 points against South Carolina and Kamila Cardoso.. Had one Wnba game where she scored 20 points in about 10 minutes..and only given a few garbage time minutes thereafter.. Hope she sees the floor more this year and if performs well is given a consistent rotation spot..
I am hoping the new CBA blows up this boring trend you see where every starting vets make basically the same amount. I think too many are just assuming the new CBA will just increase all the players salaries equally. My hope is that the new CBA gives the teams much more freedom & flexibility with how they distribute their salary cap to players. Then the WNBA would be much more like every other professional sports league where the biggest stars make a lot more than all the other players in the league. For example, NBA teams can use up to 30%-35% of their total salary cap for one player's salary. If the new CBA were to give WNBA teams that option, top players in the league could earn about $1M, even if the the salary cap just doubled to $3M. But since the new media rights deal alone increases WNBA revenue by 4X, the new salary caps should increase to at least $6M. That could allow teams to offer their top player up to $2M. That could really change the look of WNBA as the top players would all be trying to get one of the big paychecks on each team.
Fair point lol. I don’t think Chicago will be phenomenal, maybe an 8 seed at best. CON’s 2025 record will matter towards 2027 lottery odds though since its based on last two seasons record. I think 2027 is the Sun’s year to get one of the elite stars to build around (JuJu, Madi Booker, Hannah, MiLaysia if she figures out the consistency, etc)

Griner video soon? As for the Mercury, I feel that ‘27 draft pick can be used to go grab a good rotation player to bolster the roster

Yeah I don’t think that is a good look on the organization. FAs talk. Great facility and business is business, but it’s not a good look

Agree that Phoenix will be better, but they still need another piece or two to compete for championship IMO. Enjoyed the video, great work as always.

Awful take
@@clampsgiveup9235 Only time will tell. Check back with me during the Season.
This is Connecticut Sun West. Not a finals contender but a playoff team

Everyone is missing that Ty Harris is also coming.
I think a lot of your commentary is solid, but you did not even mention Sophie Cunningham at all. She played big minutes for them.
She's probably traded tbh
Did the Sun just flip the rebuild switch?
Wouldn't mind Cloud on the Sparks, but please don't touch my Shaneice Swain, I have high hopes for her.

Phoenix can only do a pick swap in 2027 by rule
Rebecca Allen to the Fever for NaLyssa and Wallace? 😂
This how many games she played in the last years starting in 2024 and going backward. 18, 40, 25, 25, 24, 28, 33.
@ she’d still contribute more than Lyss 😭
BG is going to Atlanta
Do the Sun have a coach yet?
They do! Rachid Meziane, top coach in France & Belgium’s national team HC
Sky can swap 1st round picks with the Sun in 2026 so yes....I would also like the Sun to tank lol

she doesn't..they will be worse...your analysis is dumb
You can’t be this unhappy. Get a grip
Lmao
Maybe you should go watch a fortnite video
