Gurdwara Nagiana Sahib | Gurdwara Thamm Sahib | Udoke | Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji | Batala

In this video we have visited Gurdwara Sri Nagiana Sahib and Gurdwara Sri Thamm Sahib at Village Udoke near Batala. Udoke is about 35 km from Amritsar and about 10 km from Batala. Gurdwara Nagiana Sahib has temple dedicated to Sheshnag Ji who covered Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji under his shadow to protect from Sun when Guru Ji was asleep in area now known as Nankana Sahib (Pakistan). The same naag followed Guru Ji on 'Udasi' also. When Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji returned he instructed Sheshnag Ji to stay here for rest of his life, as this would be the place where he will be worshipped and devoted people will have their wisehes fulfilled. People come here for cure of snake bite, cellulitis, difficulty in speaking, warts, boils and various other kind of problems. It's their faith that their wishes will be fulfilled. There are various idols of Sheshnag kept near the Sheshnag temple along with pictures of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Sant Baba Chuggat Singh Ji. This Gurdwara was made by Sant Baba Chuggat Singh Ji who was first sewadar. Earlier, this place had less area but after year 1960 it was expanded. In Gurdwara premises there is Tahli Sahib which got developed from 'datun' of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. There is Main Gurdwara, Baoli Sahib and Langar Hall also. Just about 2-3 km from Gurdwara Nagiana Sahib, there is another Gurdwara Thamm Sahib. It is in Udoke Village where Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji stayed for 9 months and 6 days. This Gurdwara has a large sarovar. Inside there is Thamm Sahib which is a wooden log kept vertically in a glass almirah. This was used by Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji to support the ceiling of his house which he was repairing. Under Parkash of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, there is Bhora Sahib where Rabab (musical instrument) of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji is kept.
