at 11:20 combo in the end phase you could've: 1. mirrorjade to banish sending glory dragon/sprind (whichever you use but glory dragon would be better in this scenario) 2. Rindbrumm negatge MJ, then you could bounce any of the lubellion back to the hand 3. Glory Dragon/Spring activates adding Mercourier/Kitt 4. Albion in grave set BIR
6:39 For deciding in milling DM or Ad Lib, DM makes Dragoon which is an omni negate that can potentially stop Evenly Matched and can be particularly hard to out for some deck, while Ad Libitum play goes into Mirrorjade. Mirrorjade is weaker than Dragoon and easier to out, but for me it tends to be a lot more useful since 1. Non targeting banish is pretty damn powerful, 2. It mills an Albaz fusion for end phase resource advantage and 3. Ad Libitum just goes so insane with Mirrorjade, making it able to use its effect again AND milling another Albaz fusion, plus Branded in Red making Guardian Chimera is still insane, especially on end phase against backrow heavy decks. I would say Mirrorjade Ad Lib play is better going 1st while Dragoon has better board breaking potential
I didn’t believe you when you said that most list were similar but I went ahead and look at topping list. I was shocked as I find it to be not that great(in my hands) but enough about me being weird deck builders. You did great in this video on showing and going in depth on what lines you can do. keep up the great content 👍
Love this video, i hate when people say that the deck is terrible because branded fusion losses to ash. The pure deck has like 10 ways to fuse not counting branded fusion, it is so easy to prevent ash and play through ash and still end on a strong field, it just requires more understanding of the branded archetype. Also hate that expulsion was band so soon before i got to use it, but honestly considering how popular the archetype is i guess we are lucky that is all that is band.
Hey another question lol. at 4:42 you mentioned that you would let the imperm or veiler resolve to save something more important like Aluber or Lubellion. But if you have Branded lost already, wouldnt that prevent them from responding anyway since its activating on the summon?
Since we have lost already, yes we really don’t need to worry at that point. I probably could have been more clear, but yes since we already had access to lost, we really have no reason to not.
Nice deck. Just Curious, What's your take on having Nadir Servant in the deck instead of Crossout? I feel like Nadir Servant can be used as an extender if your opponent Ash's the Branded fusion.
Honestly, this video was extremely helpful in learning Branded Despia combos and regional prep, great video With production quality this good, you should have a lot more subs, keep up the good work
Thanks! I really appreciate the kind words! I’m glad you were able to find this video helpful! I know the channel is small now, but hopefully with time we can get there! Thanks again☕️
Very good video, Ash is very dangerous to this deck and this video is very helpful. Although, I have some other ideas on 2 of those combos: 11:02 you could banish Mercourier with Albion to Summon Rindbrum directly, without discarding anything (in case that you want that Retribution to negate something, and also it's a follow up for the next turn, banishing it to add Branded Fusion from the GY to hand). 14:52 I like this combo very much, its helpful for me, I didn't think the interaction between Albion, the Shrouded Dragon and Branded in Red. But at that point 15:02 I have a better combo, I think: before Branded in red, I would summon Saronir banishing Tragedy, and Summon Lubellion from GY tributing Saronir; in that way, you get the Branded Lost, and you can add Cartesia (which you can normal summon). Also, when you summon Lubellion (the fusion), instead of Fusion summon Albion, you can discard Dark Magician and summon Dragoon anyway (or Mirrorjade). And you still will have a target for Branded in Red in the end, because you Fusion Summon Grandguignol using the Cartesia and the Alluber that was on the field, so, Alluber is your target. Also, you can send Albion from the Extra Deck to GY with Grandguignol anyway to set Branded Expulsion (or Brigrand the Glory Dragon to add Mercourier), and add Cartesia back to hand in the End Phase if you want.
When you mentioned the add from the mercourier, in this round you also missed the Mirrojade + Rindbrumm combo. Get the mercourier back to hand (Brigrand) or today summon a Quem (Titanic)
Good video you explain a lot In the last hand you should activate mirror (send glory dragon) and negate with rinbron so you can search mercuriar in end phase
a little late commenting but what's insane is being able to straight poly a DM + Albaz into a Dragoon, that itself just feels insane and having Quem, Albaz in grave and a spare n hand - soon as an ED opp side lines up you can pull Albaz for a TEMU super poly.
With expulsion you have the option if you tribute a albaz fusion to summon both targets to your field. This is better if you didnt disciple or gimmick puppet.
What do you think of cutting foolish for called by? I like gold sarc a little more than foolish rn and having another card to check ash feels really important.
Honestly, I feel like maining called by could be good. and if your area doesn’t have a lot of kash, then it’s worth considering. Personally I am playing against a lot of Kash so called by is always average /dead. But I know I love foolish burial ☕️
@@cardsandcoffeetcg yeah idk, tbh I’m going to YCS LA and I’m kinda losing confidence in the deck from ash and d-barrier everywhere, I do have a spicy 60-card list for side events I want to test with nadir servants and high spirit to play on opponents turn for those. Kash is def most popular deck but I don’t think it will be above 50% of my matches until high tables
i just play 43 cards tbh, 40 card branded despia just makes it too hard to make room for side deck and non engine. Crossout, called by, fusion deployment and cartesia offer easy ways to play through ash and 12 starters in 43 cards is pretty good consistency. branded in high spirits is something i am considering as it can send albion from extra deck to grave while searching for kitt or cartesia
Hey! If they go full combo and are uninterrupted then it would come down to what non engine you draw/play. Maybe I can try and do a replay video vs various match ups in the future. ☕️
Hey! It’s Because they need an empty feild to special summon their main searchers from hand. It makes it to where they need to prematurely use extenders to be able to play
Specifically in the kash match up it can still put a body on their field to prevent them from freely summoning their monsters. Also you can use it as a generic interruption by summoning back an albaz and then fusing with an opponents monster, or you could bring back cartesia to quick effect fusion summon. And as far as what monster you would tribute, it really just depends on what your trying to do. IF you were to tribute an albaz fusion monster, you could bring both monsters to your field. Meaning not you could potentially bring back both albaz and cartesia to fusion twice as an interruption you could even bring back an aluber to search follow up. There’s no exact option to make when using it, but the versatility it offers has been great!
If you're losing to ash as a branded player in 2023, that's just on you atp. Between blazing cartesia, nadir servant and over 25 cards of support announced in a single year meant to make the branded deck the most flexible deck in Yu-Gi-Oh, the deck is in an astronomically good spot. Especially with insane board breakers+interruptions like super poly, the in deck ability to fusion away your opponents monsters, and more extra deck monsters than you can slot in, the options are crazy. Especially with the deck now being able to utilize insane synchro's like despsian lulawith, bysstial Pater, and generic cards like chaos angel and barrone now.
14:30 You can’t activate tragedy by pitching with branded opening. Branded opening discards for cost, tragedy says “if this card is sent to the graveyard by a card effect…” Tragedy’s activation requirements have not been met, because branded opening discards, it does not send to GY by effect.
Nice combos, actually shows the flexibility in the plays that Branded has. Playing the deck since the SD came out, I can advise the following: People maindeck Evenly right now, so you should focus on either getting into Dragoon or Branded in Red set with Ad Lib in hand to play around that or use the Gimmick lock for that. The classic line with Branded Fusion dump Lubellion + Albaz is good for killing them on the back swing, because you make two bodies out of Branded Fusion. Exception would be if you know you're playing against a deck where popping their cards is really good. The extra deck can be flexible depending on your Locals/Tournament.
Hey! ☕️Expulsion still makes for a great interruption in current meta, even without a target that skips your opponent’s turn. 1st thing I’d suggest is practice test hands (at home or using dueling book solo mode) to really learn as many basic/ standard combo lines you can. That way when you are on the clock, you won’t have to spend as much time thinking.
If you are trying to learn how some of your cards work or interact in a combo, I’d suggest testing on an automated simulator like YGO omega, YGOPRO, or even dueling nexus.
Since it’s automated, the game will always remind you of effects that are activating or “could be activated”. Which is really helpful when learning a new deck, because it’s easy to miss things when playing on something like dueling book.(also you can change game setting in the simulators to have long time limits so your not rushed)
After you get a better feel for basic combos, and you feel like you are recognizing how and when cards work (because of the automatic simulator) I’d suggest getting off of the simulators and move back to dueling book.
This will let you test game play and not be pressured by time, while also letting you experience the game without being assisted by a simulator.
Usually this is something I do when learning any new deck. I really find that getting the help from simulators in the beginning really helps, and once I go back to duelingbook, I’m not having to think super long.
