I was thinking that this project would make great gifts for school children of all ages. A new chapstick in a fabric (washable) chapstick holder (that can be clipped to their jeans or backpack would) be a wonderful gift to anyone (no mater their age or gender). Thank you for the wonderful idea, pattern, and instructional video. One of these holders could come in very handy for my eye drops also.
Oh Christine, you have done it again. These paired with the tissue pouches, or card holder, and even the doggie poo pouches (to keep your lips moisturized on your walk) and the water bottle cover (the possibilities are coming faster than I can type, lol, make wonderful gift sets. You just keep them coming and we love it. Thank you and I hope you are recovering well as I know your brain is still working in overdrive with projects you want to try. Take care.
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs lol, I know, the combos are endless with your wonderful creations and the combinations for price are very possible. You know how I love add ons. Before you know it you will be back at it and wishing you could have some time off 🙂🙃
As usual, amazing tutorial! I am going to use cotton twill ribbon instead of making fabric for the tabs…sane me even more time ! Hope these are good sellers for you ! Thanks again from Montreal !
This is wonderful!! I’m just about finishing cardiac rehab after a major heart “moment” and want to thank the 14 nurses and staff w/ something sweeter than a box of candy or basket of fruit. Hmm. I wonder if I could enlarge and make a pen holder. Or - better yet - make these and matching tissue wallets. You share so much to make our lives more interesting. Thank you.
This is wonderful, thank you! I’m always losing my chapstick…I might make a few for gifts. I live in the southwest part of the US and I can’t leave the house without chapstick. Subscribed! 😊
Hi Christine, thanks for the tutorial for the chap stick holder. As you say, it's a great stash buster! I will certainly be trying to sew some of these for small gifts.
Christine, another brilliant project! Thank you again for sharing another creative project with us. I don’t know how you think of all of these wonderful projects, but am so grateful. I hope you are healing well.
Thank you so much Christine, I really really enjoyed watching you create these amazing and cute chapstick holder’s. It a great idea and a great way to make some cash too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags ❤❤❤
great video! for those of us who have trouble keeping track, its easiest to pick a direction and always leave a gap on that direction. so... "up from the fold" or "down from the fold" pick one and that always gets a gap
I love the process of making these and amazing how clever to do these in an assembly line. When I finished one to see how the finished product was, the opening was wide enough for my lipstick. The lip balm/chapstick holder was smaller in length and circumference but with a minor adjustment in the width and length of the fabric, I can make a lip balm holder that fits the item snug. I appreciate your videos always and I know that you show a time saving way to make large batches. So as I use my gift of gab, thank you again.
Thanks for such an easy project -- great use for jelly roll colors I don't use often and for other scraps -- made a batch of 20+ tonight & using scraps of ribbon and double fold tape made it go even faster! !
Nifty n useful idea. Think I’ll try leftover bits of vinyl and see how that works - no pressing or turning. Lol. Prayers, love n hugs for continued healing ❤
My friend requested I make a double width lip balm holder. She went to a 3 day music festival. Used one side for lip balm and the second side for a tampon
Great JOB Christine! I'll have to make quite a few of those and use up alot of my left over 2 1/2" strip's. I may have a few hanging around somewhere..lol 😊 Hope you shoulder is healing well.
Hello Christine, please advise what Pellon interfacing you suggest to use for this project. Planning to make some as gift for exhibitors attending my dog club's events here in the US
I made 8 of these today. How do you price them. I used all recycled fabrics that I was given. The only thing I bought was swivel clips and interfacing. I'm in N.Z. New Zealanders tend to not pay too much for such a small item.
Recently purchased 1/2 inch clips by mistake when I wanted one inch. These would be brilliant to use some of them up. How much are you able to get the chapsticks for or do you sell them empty? Hope you are healing well and getting some well deserved rest.
How do I know what kind of stabilizer to use? I googled it and there are a ton of options. Also do you think these can be made with vinyl so they can be wiped cleaned? Thank you ❤
How does the lip balm not fall out ? They are super cute but does anyone state they lose their chapstick ? Just curious because I was thinking g about making these but I sell stuff for cyclists a lot and I’m as wondering if you had anyone come back about any issues ! They are super cute 🥰
I have made this style before. At 2.5" Chapstick brand lip balm will be a bit loose. If i remeber right I cut mine at 2.25 or 2". I also made them a bit longer and brought the front almost to the top so I could put a cam snap over the top of the lip balm. For this you will leave the top 1/2-3/4" of the front unstitched so the snap is easier to install and so that it is easier to get the lip balm in/out. I hope that makes sense!
Thanks Trina. That's exactly what I was about to say. If you put a snap on them, it won't matter if they are loose inside as they'll be nice and secure 😀
I appreciate you showing making these in a batch as well as one at a time. Very efficient and I absolutely love these and am making them as gifts for my friends and family. ❤🎉

Another brilliant scrap buster with the most efficient batch sewing option I have ever seen. Thank you. Hope you are healing well.
That's so nice. Thank you. Mending well but slowly 😄
As always, you are an expert at production sewing. I loved this tutorial and plan to make some of these with my scraps! Thank you!

Great gift idea. Will definitely be making some. Hope your recovery is going well.
Thanks Pat. It's going well but slow 😀
These are very cute and easy, I like easy. You must have been busy filming all the videos before you had your surgery. ❤
I was Leah. I did heaps of videos, and cut lots of fabric 😄
What a nice quick project. Hope you sell many of them.😊❤️
I hope so too Melanie. Thank you 😄
I have been cranking these out for a couple days for a craft show on Saturday! Thank you as always!!! ❤❤❤
That's great. I hope they do really well for you😀

Definitely the way to go Kirsten. Until your enthusiasm takes over, and you forget to leave an opening😁
Awesome little project. Useful for so much. Hope your healing well❤. I found a new old machine a Jones zigzag for £10 so I had to get it 😁
They're such a robust machine, and great buy.
Mending well but slowly 😀
Great project to make and sell or give...Your fabrics perfect...love it...always looking for these ideas...thank you.

Great quick project, hoping to do a batch of these today. Thanks for breaking down your time/rate at the end, it was very helpful :)

Ooh, I might try that too Cyn. I wonder how it will hold up to the swivel clips 🤔
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs Stronger than cloth and the chapsticks stay inside! No falling out.

Thanks Janet. Shoulder is mending well. I'll be making more of these too. So much better than scrunchies 😆
So cute ! Thank you !
Thank you too Barbara ☺️
Thank you I wanted to make one
You're welcome Euginea😀
Perhaps someone asked this....what weight of interfacing do you use? I love all of your tutorials!!
Jackie, I tend to use what is at hand, but this one was a lightweight cotton interfacing😁
Love these...curious if you could share what type of machine you use..thank you
Thanks Wendy I'm using a pro sew machine it's from Port Macquarie in New South Wales
So simple
They sure are Nita 😀
I've been making these since 2015, and I mine have a flap. I've sold them for $5 USD each. good luck!
Thank you. I like the flap idea too 😀
Thanks for the great video. Your steps are very easy to follow. Does your selling price include the chap stick?
Thanks Shirley. No, I don't include the chap sticks 😀
Hello Christine, please advise what Pellon interfacing you suggest to use for this project. Planning to make some as gift for exhibitors attending my dog club's events here in the US
Sally, there are many brands available in various countries. I'd go to the local quilt shop and ask for a light weight fusible Pelon or Parlan😁
Thanks!
Thanks so much Shannon 🫠
These are so cute Im about to make some then I noticed when you centered the tabs they are slightly passed the edge. How far is that?
That was just so I could see where the tabs were. You can line them up flush or leave them overhanging a little bit it doesn't matter
Great idea Christine, would they fit an asthma puffer? And neutral prints for those not into florals. 😊
I don't think so Sue. Will see if I can find An empty one and make something to suit 🤔
Doesn’t the chapstick fall out? Cute and easy pattern though :)
Lisa, with the swivel at top it shouldn't fall out, but you could make them a little longer and add snap to them 😀
I made 8 of these today. How do you price them. I used all recycled fabrics that I was given. The only thing I bought was swivel clips and interfacing. I'm in N.Z. New Zealanders tend to not pay too much for such a small item.
That's fabulous Erin. I sell them for $10 each or two for $15. It encourages people to purchase more😁

Shoulder is mending well Sarah.
I sell these empty, and display them with some old chap sticks 😀
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs ah I did wonder as you didn't mention them when discussing pricing. Glad to hear you are getting on well. Take care x

Anjelah, stabilisers really comes down to personal choice and how you'd like the finished product to look😁
Do you have a tutorial that that is round in shape and with openings on both sides? I’ve seen them but can’t find a tutorial on them.
I don't have a tutorial for one of those Marlene. If you can send me more details, I'll see what I can come up with😀
So fun
They are really enjoyable to make 😄
Folks are always looking for inexpensive souvenirs. I believe if you put your label on them, they would be more popular for that reason alone.
You're right, Donna. I second guessed myself on that one😁

If a cotton one goes through the wash (say in the pocket of a small boy's pants), the chapstick is unlikely to fall out ever again...
❤
Thanks Sheila😁
Is interfacing necessary?
Not really Dulce. You can certainly make it without😀
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs thank you for the quick response. I dont have any interfacing on hand and dont live close to any stores
