The guitar bit at 10:37 that immediately transitions into the game’s main leitmotif is A+ musical direction in my book. Spare Squadron was becoming more and more like a real team all leading up to that great moment of everyone forming up on Trigger. The guitar lick feels indicative of the 444th scenes and levels early on, and the transition to the main theme which had showed up in nearly level before Trigger’s court martial, now returning as they’re acting like a legit unit and about to be recognized as such in the storyline is just perfect and one reason why I love Ace Combat. It has so much heart.
the music was epic so was the camera shoot...problem is if you think about it its also one of the dumbest moments in the whole game. The guys commanding this unit are a bunch of morons. like they dont know planes have ID's? i mean cant they just take the ID's of the planes they sent to the mission and mark all others as enemy?
Then Full Band happened
This is an excellent take on the mission's role as a significant story beat for the entire plot, but sadly everything about the penal unit was thrown under the bus and the writers practically grabbed us players by the arm and dragged us away onto a new set of characters - Strider 1. Not to say our new squadron was boring as hell, but the game had something going for the bond and time we shared with the penal unit and its growing potential to create an unique theme for AC7's plot and this was completely ignored and we never got to hear from them again.

You can tell they're actually drones by the red lines around the cockpit. I was wondering if they actually showed up on the model.
I loved that, and that's not the only foreshadowing for that in this mission. Helios can actually take out TGT enemies for you in this mission, and Tabloid expands on that at 12:33 "don't they care about the pilots?" Well no, they can do that without casualties, *because they're drones*. So even if you don't know the red line connection yet, they still offer you a way to put 2 and 2 together.
Hence, the mission title is 'Faceless Soldier'
And why do they have human pilots inside?
Did the modelers forget to replace them with EASA drone equipment?

So, it's "you know too much" scenario. But well, character wise, this automatically made Bandog into the best AWAC in AC series cuz he was not just there to talk and update stuffs. Now one thing left to messing around with AWAC is defection.

I'm of the camp that Bandog tagged him on purpose to keep him from leaking any information. Not malice, necessity.

also am I missing something or is there never even an implication that the info Full Band had was about Stonehenge or anything equally sensitive? It seems to me that we just don't know what Full Band actually knew about, and to excuse Bandog's heavy-handedness people reach for Stonehenge

I hope this helps me make my S-Rank run on this mission. One of the hardest missions for me to S-Rank. Haven't done it yet.

Yeah for me it was this then last hope (16) and lighthouse (19). For this mission I had 58 total targets destroyed 44 of them being ground targets and I also shot down the ace airplane for extra points . Total of 13150 score and 8:45 on the time. Good luck.

I love this game dearly, and I've played it enough that even Ace difficulty isn't too much of a problem, but THIS MISSION. My main problem is actually how unhelpful the map is. I use the medium topographic map, but I still can't tell the difference between a high mountain peak, and a low valley, because they both look the EXACT SAME on the map. The vast majority of my deaths actually came from getting lost and accidentally flying high for too long when I thought there'd be somewhere to dive to😅.
This mission on Ace was what made me take a break from the game. Died countless times either to tower missiles or to the mountains.
Not gonna lie, those Helios Missiles remind me of the Gleipnir's SWBMs from Ace Combat X, although the Helios Missiles don't affect the entire airspace like the SWBMs. Anyone else getting those vibes?

God damn though, I was low key expecting the end of the mission to be the turning point for Spare Squadron.
You know, the moment the ragtag misfits become an actual team and go on to become the heroes of the story... But Bandog had to ruin everything.
Gotta be going back to these old missions after completing the game. I just passed this mission and im nowhere near being able to purchase this aircraft. I did this mission with an A-10 and bought the F-15 after this mission. Thats last I played last week. On my first time playing through the game. Slowly but surely

I found out you can use the land attack cruise missiles LACM and accurately hit the radar stations from a lower elevation without going above the clouds.
God you’re late.
The one thing about aircraft identification is that pilots are trained to see if aircraft are friendlies or enemies. There are identification insignia near the tailplane, usually low visibility for combat aircraft but recognisable if you look for it.
Honestly, Faceless Soldier sets up Trigger’s role so well.
We never see Trigger actually fly in a formation until now. Up until this point, he’s always been the support element, be it as Mage 2 or escorting Strider Squadron and Cyclopes Squadron. But now, we see him in formation as the lead element. And this sets Trigger up for his role so beautifully because amidst all the confusion and all chaos, Trigger is the one Tabloid called for everyone rally behind. Trigger is the one they follow and form up with.
And thus, “Stick with Trigger, and you’ll make it” came to being (minus Full Band, but we all know what happened there…)
Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't some of the custom parts chosen for this run useless? The SOD is considered a bomb, not a missile. That's why none of the SPW stat bars increase when applying some of those upgrades. So many more parts could have been used to make this easier, which actually makes this more impressive.

God, i keep dying in this place. The cruise missile so fast, so accurate, and... Is it just me or flare isn't working on it? Even diving into the valley inside a fog, for some reason i kept getting shot down
Flare doesn't work because it's a special enemy missile, I recommend packing long-range anti-ground missiles
You're supposed to pop up for a few seconds then dive back down.

Why use special missiles parts while running a special bomb?
I think i figured out the "secret" to completing this mission, I had tried a bunch of times to destroy the radar facilities only to eventually be shot down, the key is speed, go as fast as you can and I destroyed all of them in under 2 minutes.

One thing I've noticed recently is, I'm pretty sure the gun pod on the F-35 is backwards. If you look it while firing there is no hole there for shells to leave, but there is on the back lol.

There is like no reason to use the SOD bomb. There are so very few missions where it would have high efficiency and even fewer where you don't need aam's or AGM's would be better. Just an inefficient weapon really. Just would much rather prefer UGB's or guided rockets at this point.
Imagine if they were LACMs instead.

@@themegapokedexshow605 yeah. You just have to be under or in between the clouds. If you go above the clouds, the enemy will detect your aircraft. In that case, quickly go back in between the clouds. The clouds will basically protect you from getting locked by the enemy missiles. Once again, you can go over the clouds but only for few seconds.
If only F35 can go VTOL
This probably is the F35A. The F35B which is in use with the USMC is the only F35 model with VTOL
It's the F-35C. I don't know why it's not the A though

I fucking hate this mission with a passion. The invisible sam missiles the clouds then the fucking wind pushing your plane around. I've tried this mission about 15 times today on ace did the requirements for score, time and even shot down spider and the game keep giving me the finger by giving me a rank.
I came to this video on how to get passed this mission and your using a jet that’s not even unlocked when you start playing :/.
What the- what's wrong with that fake osean squadron?
They're Erusean drones. Using Belkan tech, they spoofed the Osean IFF to appear as friends to Spare and attacked.
You can see the red lines in the cutscene and the gameplay, and the fact that some of them get downed by Helios and the comment they did about them not caring about their pilots.
The red lines around the cockpit indicate the fake Osean squadron aircraft we’re actually drones, their drones in disguise, and when they asked “Why don’t they care about their pilots?” Which those aircraft they were asking about were actually drones the entire time.

Cant beat this mission keep getting shot down by missiles where are the missiles coming from not seeing anything other then the warning and i am doing rolls sharp turns every move i can muster and still take a missile strike.
You're supposed to stay under the clouds, navigating between the mountains. Only popping up when near targets. This is pretty easy, just need to be patient to find the right way
@@di-gun5791 I have done that and hugged the terrain and only rose up when approaching the targets? Do the planes have missile flares like in real life?
@@kingdiamondfan4032 You're staying up too long then, immediately go back under the clouds after destroying the target. Pressing both analogs will deploy flares but it doesn't matter in this mission.
