Toothpaste comes packaged in opaque tubes because direct light breaks down the active ingredients in the product... total waste of toothpaste 🙃

I know right. Like everything is a unnecessary waste of money and time considering all come in containers already, however I can understand the appeal of it. The toothpaste one is where I draw the line. Ridiculous, wasteful and unnecessary.

@StuartLohe they're just irresponsible... they literally make dispensers for toothpaste. The toothpaste is in a dark tube because light ruins the components and can actually make it toxic. This is why it's not a good idea to up it in a clear container

@@radfem28 Well, one can say _all_ repackaging is unecessary, but we don't know _why_ they are decanting it, perhaps they have a partner or a kid who leaves toothpaste tube opened and lying around willy-nilly? Harder to do it with a bottle 🤣

Most things come in a dark container for a reason. Things like bleach, peroxide, toothpaste, and olive oil are photosensitive which means light ruins the components in the products and can acually make them toxic. This is why toothpaste is in a colored tube

Yes and no. Having it sit too long and in sunlight they would lose their scent/durability etc stock rotation is good but it’s one of those things.
