Great Video Matilda I Enjoyed it Great Drone Footage. The Flying Scotsman Came To The USA in The 70s I Saw it In South Station From My Late Fathers Car As We Passed By It Is A Great Locomotive 😊 Have A Great Night
That tune you heard was the first few notes of "On Ilkly Moor Baht' at." I suppose the driver thought that seeing as how he was in Yorkshire he'd play a fitting tune! Great vid, thanks.
This is exactly what railway enthusiasts love, great footage of heritage trains, an hommage to the unique Pennines landscape - including the weather 😉 - and a genuine presenter!
Some people just ignore what wonders are around them and miss so much of this beautiful world we live in. It's like when someone is playing or singing in the towns and people just walk past. People like you and your Mom make the most of these things that's what makes you and others like you so deserving. Lovely video's as always and you make me smile
What a great video, it’s unbelievable the power of steam to pull so many carriage’s which will have all been full of people. Great shot’s keep up the great work
I love this. We were on the train yesterday and had a great day. It was fantastic to see so many people all along the route but especially at the Ribblehead Viaduct. ❤
Super video, love it - and your irrepressible bubbly enthusiasm!! Drone footage was amazing too. When the sheep say that people are stupid do they spell it st-ewe-pid?
The drones are fine my brother uses one it’s just the misuse of them and some people as with everything have to push it too far and spoil it for others, it was so noisy 😡 they were so bothered about their UA-cam shot they actually missed it coming and then went in a blind panick 😂
This is one of you're very best Matilda that I've seen! Your enthusiasm combined with your brilliant crew with your mum and Billy produced a great video. of a classic locomotive in a lovely scene. A good message included for responsible drone flying as well. The sound of a 3 cylinder A3 steam locomotive was music to my ears. The later diesel train travelling over the viaduct was a nice bonus as well. That one looked like an old class 43 HST set (I may be wrong here) that also set speed records for diesel traction and people were walking away from it. They didn't realise or know what they are missing.
Love that footage Matilda, you're such a funny girl with your manarisims and all.. Is Billy a convert now to train watching or did his face in the beginning tell the story 😂😂😂
No when we went back the second time he had camera trouble and was under the viaduct due to the extreme weather trying to sort it he missed the train and was really upset 😢 he’s converted 😂
I really liked the video. Amazing you chased the most famous steam locomotive in the world. I've chased locomotives before, but they're nothing compared to the Flying Scotsman.
You're welcome! And though it's great to see the Flying Scotsman up and running, it would've been nicer if the locomotive had its original paint job, number, and second tender. The Scotsman used to have the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) logo in large text on both sides of the locomotive's first tender and used to have a second tender with the locomotive's number (which used to be 4472) in large text.
Great video Matilda, I managed to video the FS a few weeks back as she went through Dawlish on the south coast of Devon, and you are so close to the line at Dawlish as well but love the bridge drone footage.
Papyrus, Doncaster and Cameronian were one of the A3s to get scrapped after they were withdrawn from service in 1963 and 1964 respectively, leaving only one A3 behind Flying Scotsman as the sole survivor of their class that is now in preservation
Great video as always Matilda, always a pleasure to watch your videos. Hope they fix the valve timing on Flying Scotsman, she sounds dreadful atm. Kind regards, Jake.
4470 Great Northern was withdrawn for being rebuilt to a Thompson Class A1/1 in 1945. 60104 Solario was the first A3 to be withdrawn from service in 1959. Then in 1961, 60095 Flamingo, 60055 Woolwinder, 60035 Windsor Lad, 60102 Sir Frederick Banbury, 60079 Bayardo, and 60064 Tagalie were withdrawn from service in 1961 when the Deltics began to take over express trains on the East Coast Mainline. In January 1966, 60052 Prince Palatine was the last A3 to be withdrawn from service.
60100 Spearmint and 60101 Cicero, which were the Scottish A3s, were sadly scrapped upon their withdrawal from service leaving only one A3 behind Flying Scotsman as the sole survivor of their class to be in preservation.
60036 Colombo hauled a passenger train at speed and crashed into the buffers at York Station. It was trying to break Flying Scotsman and Papyrus’s speed records.
stunning captures mates . a great big puffer

Many thanks! Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Magnificent! It's amazing to see a 100 year old locomotive still doing what it was built to do. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it 😊

Yes when I play in town some people have nearly walked over me glued to their phones 🥲

Yes fascinating 😊
The Flying Scotsman, going over Ribblehead, sounded just like me after 3 rounds in the boxing ring... im not quite as old as she.
Sounds great 😍
@@matildariverwaldennews it's not a good look !

Great Northern was the prototype of the Gresley A1 and Papyrus broke 108 mph on May, 1935.

It’s ashamed that Papyrus, Great Northern, Doncaster, Cameronian and Salmon Trout didn’t make it into preservation
