Does the reissue fix the fit of the arms in fighter mode?
I've had this sitting in the corner for 2 years. I can finally play with this now that you have reviewed it - I can't enjoy my Macross DX toys until you tell me how good they are :)
I just wanted to say that I dig your reviews. Thanks for doing them. Out of the Delta figures, I only have a 31F and am pretty happy with it. In fact, it was my first modern Macross figure. I got lucky and got a winner right off the bat.
I agree with you, it is not a bad toy, it is good, just doesn't live up to previous releases standard of improvements, the way the fighter mode looks messy underneath the wings give me the impression Bandai tried to use most of the Siegfried and Kairos parts in the Kairos Plus to cheap out costs and screw out a little the fighter mode. To be honest I would have prefered if they had just used the original Kairos with a mision pack that fused the Siegfried gun with the Chronos missile launcher, for some reason I don't like the Kairos Plus mission pack. So I'm gonna skip the Kairos Plus and keep the Siegfried. And about the launch stand, would have been better if Bandai gave some missiles to arm the Kairos Plus instead of that.

The Bigger Guns and better Fire Power are the Main Reason I got my VF-31AX Mirage Version.
I've had the DX VF-31AX Kairos Plus Mirage Custom for over a year now and absolutely adore it. Got it for around $207 with shipping for an opened box one from Mandarake Japan
Spoiler for future reviews - My Mirage is my best release so far... almost made me think Bandai had it figured out.
Looking forward to getting my hands on a Kairos Plus in the near-ish future. What's the compatibility with the Siegfried FAST Packs like? Looks like the wing boosters won't fit well at least given the redesign there.
I'll be reviewing all the accessories (somewhat) soon and as I do those I'll do comparisons to the Siegfried accessories so people can understand what won't fit.
how would you compare this to the yf-30? love the review your the only one i got to haha!
The YF-30 is cool because it's so unique but it's apples and oranges with a VF-31AX. The 30 shines in fighter mode, the 31AX shines in GERWALK and battroid, and the 31J/A/S is tops in all.
man I just wish they make the default 31A kairos a regular release, still dont know how to get it, it's web exclusive and people are selling them locally at 6k local currency this is more than 1k USD

My Hayate has a misaligned left tail fin and as Im watching your vid it looks like your is too? I can’t tell if mine is slightly warped or if the clip that attaches it to the body is glued crookedly. My Bogue does not have that issue.
I have the Bogue version though and there are some pegs that are just pretty loose
had to get kairos AX because it was cheapest out of all three but eventually I will get rest too! except illusive mass produced type......

Sorry, those were Tamashii webstore exclusives and can only be found in the secondary market at this point. Maybe the next Hayate reissue Bandai gives us will be a bundle.

I don't understand. I remember this stuff coming out 10 years ago and it looks exactly the same, basically. Why is Macross so mind numbingly boring now? The Drakken was the last thing that I thought was interesting at all.
If you saw all three at the same price, you buy the OG Kairos which is the rarest of the three ;-)
