For all his worthiness of Mjolnir, Cap kinda did some people some serious wrongs. For instance, he rescued Bucky even when the dude literally killed Tony's parents. He took the risk to end his career as America's champion and fought Iron Man for Bucky's sake, even when it could be argued that Iron Man has the moral high ground here. Iron Man kinda realized his parents were cruel to him because they were too busy protecting him from people like Bucky, and this motivated him to avenge them, despite his grievances with them back when they were alive. Point is, Cap shouldn't have been worthy of Mjolnir. But why was he worthy anyway? Captain America chose to save Bucky despite the dude being a Hydra agent. This wasn't only because they were childhood friends and Bucky provided him emotional comfort in times of distress but because he discerned that while Bucky was a Hydra agent, dude's still someone he owed his current success to. "Even when I had nothing, I had Bucky." Even when he doesn't view himself as someone worthy of someone else being around with, Bucky befriended him anyway, and that touched him so much that he decided to follow that guy's example. Now, Bucky's the one with nothing, and Steve made it his job to be by his side. Like I said, he owed Bucky. He remained sided with Bucky in CA3 not only because they were childhood friends but because he figured that Bucky didn't kill Tony's parents by his own volition, and thus can be argued innocent. To be fair, he still felt that there has to be some punishment for the dude, so he left him in Wakandan custody. This ability to look to the bright side of a despicable person is probably why Mjolnir declared him worthy. That, and the part where he tried fighting Thanos even when he's severely inferior to the Mad Titan. And...why the hell was I talking about Cap being worthy of Mjolnir?
