    Which light did you think is better...the Aputure 120DII or Godox VL200?

      Godox is better to me. It’s muuuuuch brighter and less expensive by far. Doesn’t make sense to even purchase the Aputure at this point to me.

      I personally think with a softbox there’s little to no difference. Either way it saves you from a huge headache of having to color grade without controlled lighting

      I think both are way better than the led bulbs used in house lighting which I use for my videos😀

      Sanath Kumar Naibhi you should buy daylight bulbs and switch you camera white balance to 5500 kelvin. You will notice a huge difference when color grading

    For a mixed lighting situation like in the first set (window light plus keylight) do you think the VL150 would be enough? I mainly will use my keylight for indoor sets, but I want to also use mixed lighting.

    Sidney did you try VL200 vs VL300? On paper with reflector at 1m, they say 75,000 lux for VL200 and 77,000 lux for VL300. For naked bulb 7800 lux and 10800 lux. Do you find these numbers accurate? I'm puzzled by the fact that with a reflector the numbers are soooo close. Seems impossible.

    Impressive for sure. Produces a lot more light for less money. I'm left wondering about consistency though. I know that was an issue with the entry level Godox lights, where Aputure is known for having that consistency.

    Can’t decide whether I should buy vl150 or vl200. They say more is better, for sure, but mostly for my needs the vl150 is bright enough 😅 Thinking whether the vl200 has enough juice the light up a wedding dance floor for video, for example.

    Great side-by-side tests next to the window. I could tell the Aputure from the Godox instantly without seeing the text below because all of the Aputure lights I've tried run a bit warmer than their advertised Kelvin value. My Godox VL150 actually runs closer to the advertised Kelvin value than my Aputure 300d Mark ii. That said, I really kind of like Aputure's warmer light. The Godox's price to value proposition is pretty compelling, though...........

    Good info! When I get the funds, I'm going to upgrade to a legit Bowens mount light kit. I'm going to stick with one brand so I can use one remote for multiple lights. I'm leaning towards Godox at the moment. This is mostly because of the price, but also because my wife is a photographer and Godox also makes the flashes and triggers for her work.

    • @michaelteak
      @michaelteak 2 роки тому

      Well that’s a flash. This is a constant led light. The 400pro does have an led modeling light, but not nearly as bright as the lights compared here. The 400pro is really for still photography, while this one’s primarily for video. You can use a constant light for stills, but with far less power and motion-stopping ability.

    I guessed right, sorta feels like a winning moment 😉 😉 lol 😂..... I can 💭 dream , great video and awesome light that looks real good over by the window, with the aputure, the godox looks dope as well after you bring the brightness down, having the option to adjust it down to where aputure is at 100% seems pretty cool. But I’m sure aputure has a light that’s comparable to the godox it just might cost more.

    No negative vibes intended, but It should be noted that this is an unfair comparison. The VL200 has an output on par with the Aputure 300D. The VL150 is the correct light to compare to the 120D II. The VL150 is significantly smaller than the VL200, it's controller is half the size of the VL200 and not as unwieldy when you put it next to the 300D's controller! So comparing apples to apples negates any "downsides" you mention I think. I like your practical approach, you should grab a VL150 and compare it to the 120D II for us :)
