I always feel so sorry for when this happens to any of the guard. The uniforms are hot enough on a spring day, but in a heatwave … wow, just unbearable.
While playing trombone to boot- from experience, an unexpectedly athletic activity. You work up quite a sweat just playing in an air conditioned concert hall in a suit, end up parched and feeling out of breath by the end. Doing it wearing all of that in
@@criostoirashtin11 no, this is weather regular British aren't anywhere prepared for. Plus him having to do it in uniform. The weather is only going to get hotter, so they need better clothing to reflect that
You said "unbearable" and I just wanted to point out that the hat is bear fur...
Tears in my eyes as he gets up and tries to carry on . My lad is a grenadier guard bless these boys and girls
@Stanly Stud out of curiosity the comment was not meant to be amusing so what part is funny to you
Ditto. Even when prostrate on the ground he refused to release his instrument and kept it to attention as it were.
I’m happy to hear the applause for this soldier. Kinda surprised the audience noticed him even from distance
Uggs boot to Santa's boot because united lost to city but atleast they won in the Champions League
Clapping for a poor lamb falling under the heat, to celebrate the mumy s king…. Ahhh poor souls….
It's all done with such incredible precision that you instantly can tell when someone is out of line. I was in a section nearby and we absolutely applauded his effort, brilliant soldier.
I was at the Colonel's Review. This guardsman was right at the front of the band facing the crowd so it was quite noticeable when he fainted. He got a roaring round of applause when he recovered so well. About another half a dozen had fainted before this happened, either being stretchered off or helped to walk off.
I was there it was brutally hot for the guardsmen, 10 men and women were stretchered off all together, it's not just standing at the parade for 2 hours they have to march there up the Mall and back, they all did an amazing job.
I definitely wouldn't consider that as a job, mate! That's almost slavery, or at least it's a torture.
A job doesn't make you faint out, or does it?
Poor little soldiers having to go and do something that Ethel are paid to ,the guy in this video is a bandsman so a medic in combat but a musician come easy lifer when not in combat ,,,btw 4.5 years royal Anglian Regt, so not like I don’t know what I’m talking about lol😢
And he carries on playing 👍👍👍
@@Superpooper-2020 your comment is still hiden, until you look "new comments" section
A bear fur hat in this heat must be unbearable. He got back up, he's a trooper. Not just in the army but in life.
He's a dedicated man. Salute
@Yogesh maybe where you live its normal weather and so you wouldn't carry a bear on your head.
I don't understand why they can't modify their clothes for different weather conditions? Surely, there must be a design that is dignified but also practical. It doesn't need to be radically different, perhaps using other fabrics can make it more tolerable during heat. Respecting "tradition" doesn't mean accepting impracticality when it can easily be solved.
and its also not like it hasn't changed before in slight ways to account for time as well.
@@Ammar-pv8wr so you keep say. Can't uou change the record. It's boring. It would be hilarious to see you in that position 😂
@@melandlynbell666 absolute selfishness to subject these guys through this torture! They must be barbarians to put their workers through such horrid conditions.
What's even more astonishing is the indifference of the audience in realising this torture of their superiors. Just evil
Fair play to him for getting back up and attempting to play on.
Guards are just as human as all of us... And in life, NOTHING IS PERFECT... I wish him a speedy recovery
Bro mad respect to this guard he still tried to play and stood up tired like nothing happend
Two have fainted!! One on a stretcher.
That is a very short step from actual torture. Unless they can figure out a way to air condition those enormous fur hats there needs to be a max temperature those soldiers can perform in.
@@patriciaoreilly8907 Yep. Because men already have a built in air conditioner?
Holy moly...these autocorrection errors are so annoying! I especially in english watch every word I type and when I'm done typing it I send it. And then reading it realizing half of the words got falsely corrected 🙈🙈
Couldn't help but notice that another being carried off in the background @ 9 secs
He got up to keep going! Total respect.
The weather really is absolutely awful these days, it's amazing he lasted this long in those conditions.
Awful? Hot weather is awful? It’s been freezing cold all winter and you say heat is awful. It’s called summer.
@Quicksilver Storm Climate change is normal, it's been happening for Billions of years.
@Quicksilver Storm Why does that mean it’s “awful these days”? It’s weather. We’ve had heat like this all the time. I would not call sun and heat awful. People will moan about anything. Wasn’t long ago everyone was moaning it was cold and we couldn’t pay our heating bills.
To the trombonist who fainted, I hope you have fully recovered. You display of duty was noted and was/is inspirational. Well done.
The fact he was determined to get back up and play along with the rest after collapsing....that's commitment for you!
@@yogeshronte They’re only human… let’s see if you could wear all that heavy uniform, March around and play brass instruments in hot weather… 😉
@@Darklord666123 yeah, I have. I was raised in humid areas. 5 years ago at 10th grade I was admitted into military school where weather was dry. Not a single time in my whole academic year I remember I fainted during 20 minute ground March wearing heavy outfit uniforms. It depends on how resilient you are to the environment. You fainted during the duty, you failed. Standing up again doesn't cover your failure nor prove your commitment.
@@yogeshronte Maybe because the UK is not meant to have 30-degree weather. The soldiers are maybe not used to this kind of heat.
He managed to keep standing and continue hes duty although fallen. A tough bloke, real warrior 💪
Meanwhile Asians be chilling at 45°C. I, personally, live in an area with 35°C as a standard
I'm sure said Asians would be struggling to cope with below-0C temperatures during a British winter. It's all about what your body is used to.
Bless him, sorry to see this and wish him well.
Poor guys, heard it was REALLY hot. Also hearing the audience applaud must have been somewhat nice for him not knowing what happened.
Bro it was like 80 something Fahrenheit. I'm here in Texas where its hitting 120 right now and the usual is like 100-110.
@@TheMarksman0415here it can get to -40c
It’s faqin coooooooooooooooooooooooooooooold
He just gets up like nothing happened and gets ready to start blasting again. What a man.
Poor guy
He was still in position on the ground with hand on trumpet, very disciplined. Watching from Massachusetts
Falls down, gets up and tries to carry on. Salute 🫡
In summer heat they are required to wear those stifling outfits.?!
Where is the common sense and compassion?
In the 21st century, in the heat, in a bearskin or faux leather, it's ridiculous to parade around in the sun like this. Let Charles and William stand out dressed the same, then when they collapse, they'll think about what makes sense and what doesn't.
Amazing commitment to get back up and try to carry on like that. Inspirational.
I can't Believe That After all These Years They Still haven't Provided The King's Guard With Special Summer Unifroms
30 degrees is too hot for wearing a bear skin and full thick wool jackets with black heavy trousers and boots! I can’t stand in it for long with me shorts and vest on 😂. Massive respect 🫡
King charles should take note.and do something about it. I hope he's made to be aware of whats been happening. Those dedicated men must dread the summer.
@@pearlford121 they aren’t forced to be Guardsmen. They can choose to join a different infantry regiment. They know full well that the job of the Foot Guards is half ceremonial, half operational
And he finally realized that there are better job out there.
Commitment is everything, fairplay to this guard😊
Oh bless him! What an absolute trooper.
They should have diferent uniforms for hotter weather i think. In even dreading going out in this heat with a flimsey top on lol .
Absolute selfishness in the actions of his colleagues and a selfish ritual that prohibits him being attended to. No compassion in these robots and elites
The Medics did a great job and so did the Guards
Unfortunately, it is common for soldiers to faint in heatwave. And I can understand especially the King's Guards having worn, once, one of their uniforms. And that was in autumn...
Love the way the DOM marches forward and takes over playing the trombone. Top Man!
Name: The March Of The King's Men
Wow! I love the dedication of duty when not even one person in his group stops playing to ensure he is still alive.😱
The same guy later that day: How did I end up with a trumpet? 📯🤔
Lets all just thank this guard for his service and trying to get back up and fight!
Dude was out with his mouth still to the trombone. That's a hero 😂
Are we living in 21st century or 15th century ?
How dare you faint in front of your King peasant!
He would’ve got up and and still stood there if they didn’t come for him..Very committed to Their duty
Anyone knows the name of the March played at the beginning?
I'm curious as to what the march is... fairly jaunty tune at that!
Poor man, for crying out loud
It was great to see that he wanted to continue to play. They need to make sure they are well hydrated with those clothes and the heat.
The guys laying on the ground passed out and the other guards do not respond just keep playing. Crazy in my opinion
they aren't medical staff so its not there job to deal with that and they couldn't do anything to help anyway.

This is madness. The absolute state of humanity
Im sure Charles could afford some lighter summer uniforms with all the money his mother left him. 💂♂️💂♀️
I remember what my sergeant major told us when we first started training for a parade all the way back in basic. "You either march out of the parade square, or you get carried out of it".

Super hot today and he's wearing wool and a bear skin hat. I would never survive it.
The very definition of a trooper: stands right up to play his trombone!
Imagine wearing bear fur/leather on your head during summer heatwave, respect to the guards
Carry on, trombonist!
Imagine they are halfway back and he faints again
One more was carried away in the background. What a shame.

Absolutely disgraceful having to wear such uniforms in a heatwave. Why??
Does anyone know the name of the march?
Notice other one already being stretchered off in the background
What's the name of the piece they're playing?
I have never seen in my life that a solider fainted like that stands up again, his comrades shocks too👍👍👍Maybe it's the time to check if they can reform the summer uniform....... at least install some cooling system inside the bearskin...
Dropping like flies. Safe and effective 😂
Need water cooling in those bear hats (or at least AC).
Poor man he tried to brush it off
Did anybody see the other one being carry away
And that was just the rehearsal! I wonder what they would do do during the actual performance.
What is the name of the march they are playing?
Total commitment 👏
It almost looked like when he was on the ground he was still trying to play his instrument. Fella went down jamming
Sketch of Monty Python
Blowing air through that hot metal tube for hours wearing all this fur makes it easy to faint. I get lightheaded just thinking about it.
Every music teacher cringed when they saw the trombone slide fall off 😅
There was another soldier in the background that fainted
True soldier fainted got back up fall back in line to proceed great job by the medics to take him in
what’s the name of the first march?
The worst part is in the background you can see another fainted soldier being taken away in the background
You can still hold up your head with pride. That’s pure brilliance. Well done that Grenadier,
Maybe alter the fabric of the uniforms to be lighter. Those fuzzy black hats are sure to absorb alot of heat and make the head very hot, leading to fainting. Yknow, just suggesting other logical things than climate change.
0:35 I hope that the Soldiers didn't get into trouble.
While I'm sure they're "following rules", the fact that they continue playing and just ignore their colleague collapsed on the ground is absolutely disgusting. What if he was having a heart attack?
Than he will be able to play his instrument for Queen Elisabeth for eternity
Heatstroke can be lethal. @0:29 You can see the soldier hands already shaking.
There's nothing they could've done to help. They're not necessarily trained medics, that's what the support roles are there for. They obviously cared about him, as they were trying to keep him upright and tried to talk sense into him.
I understand your point @callum9999 but please know that these soldiers care a great deal about their comrades, they are like brothers and sisters to one another. It is simply that they must follow protocol. The medical team is the best team to assist him in that moment, and they get to him in seconds, to do everything that is needed to ensure he is safe. The others are not being cold or uncaring; they are doing their part of the jobs they have been enlisted to do. I am sure they were worried about this gentleman and checked up on him immediately afterwards.
as you can see in the background, hes not the only one to get carried away
