Clonex Review - Rooting hormone test

- In this video we'll be looking at Clonex Rooting Gel and doing some trials to compare propagation results with and without Clonex being used. I compare Clonex to controls with peppers, basil, sage, rosemary and a flowering plant.
Let me know how you propagate your plants and any thoughts you have on these Clonex products!

Peer review: Did you read the clone x gel directions? It is not made for cloning in water. It is made for cloning into a substrate. Secondly you should not dip the plant into the bottle but rather a different container and throw away any unused gel that plants were dipped into.
😂😂😂
@@JimmyBHarvests Why are you laughing? This is very valid criticism on both points. If you’re using the product wrong, the whole experiment is moot.
Yeah I know that too but I wanted to try it this way rooting in water so I'm glad they did it this way honestly haha - though I do think I would did separately as well not into the bottle
Real hero’s don’t wear capes
I’ve used this gel for like 20 years , you’re crying too much . Water for a substrate looks like it’s working
I really appreciate this kind of testing vid.
I really appreciate your appreciation! 😆🫶🏻
@@JimmyBHarvests 🤣
No annoying Background music. No way to loud intro music. Noone jumping into the picture yelling "HEY UA-cam WHATS UP?"
No shaking camera. No begging for upvotes and subsriptions. No sponsors. just right to the point compact unbiased info - even with a control group.
This the kind of video I am digging for. Only downside is that I can just give one thumb up instead of 3! (Also the samplesizes were really small)
Keep up the good work!!
Greatly appreciate it DQ!
Also please like, share and subscribe! 😆
Thissssss 🎉
Why did you contaminate the bottle of root hormone? 🙀🥺🙁
I like to live dangerously I guess 😆
@@JimmyBHarvests is the correct reply
KKK amazing
Your experiments are always fun to watch. I've got cloned tomatoes, cucumbers, and fig trees growing right now, and always wanting to improve my grow tech.
Hello, I use it, but the plant rots and turns black, what is the reason?
Nice to see a post from you Jimmy! Cheers
Thanks Morty! 🫶🏻 more to come
I've been taught to not use direct from bottle.
Put a small amount into a separate container and use the container to dip in. Eliminating cross contamination.
💯
Quality video indeed.

Hi. Do you propagate fruit trees from cuttings with success ?
Clone x does in fact work. However should be noted there are multiple types of rooting hormone, sometimes plants respond differently depending on the hormone. I normally use a mix of NAA (Naphthaleneacetic acid) and TBA (Indole-3 butyric acid) in my cloners. Gels in general are not meant water rooting, they are more so for starter plugs like root riot or going directly in soil. You better of with the liquid solution versions of these products for water rooting.
Does naphthaleneacetic acid plus indole-3-butyric acid work as well as Clonex?
Does anyone know the ingredients of Clonex?
I see only TBA on the label and not the rest.
@@edouart Which clonex. Gel or clonesprayer solution? Gel is indole-3-butyric acid 0.33%. The solution mix is a bit different because it functions as a hydroponic nutrient solution.
@@nikushim6665 Gel, yes. Indole-3 butyric acid and ?
@@nikushim6665 You seem to know your stuff. Do you have any advice on how to make liquid cuttings for fig, pomegranate and other trees in coconut or potting soil?
Would it be enough, for example, to mix 0.03g of TBA and 0.03g of NAA with 100mg of water?
How would you do it?
@@edouart When it comes to tress i suggest air rooting for a high success rate. In which case the TBA gel is probably your best option. I cant really speak for Figs though i have only really done citrus using that method.
Does clonex work on adenium leaf/cuttings?
Happy to see a new video

I wonder how does clonex work on blueberry cuttings?
Hi, does clonex work with blueberry cuttings???🤔...TNX 👍🇧🇷
How did plants go 28 days in clear glass without the water being used up and the water turning bad???
I top up the water as needed and will change it completely every 10 days or so
سلام استاد خسته نباشی سرولاوسون قلمه زدم خراب میشه یا بوسیده میشه راهنمایی کنی ممنون میشم فارسی بیام بدهی ممنون میشم
I am using Clonex in soil with Australian native Callistemon cuttings and getting mixed results. Have you done any testing like this? I think its a harder wood so not as easy to strike? But i am new and open to suggestions so any advice is appreciated 🙏
Havent been able to successfully root any hardwoods yet myself
What kinda gel is the rooting medium?
*Clonex Rooting Gel* is a high performance, water-based, rooting gel developed by Growth Technology™ Ltd. It is a tenacious gel which will remain in contact around the stem, actually sealing the cut tissue and then supplying the hormones needed to promote root cell development.
*Clonex Rooting Gel* has been used to root billions of clones across the planet. That’s right, billions.
Since 1998, Clonex Rooting Gel has been used by serious growers, plant nurseries, and more to successfully root plant cuttings. Developed by Growth Technology Ltd., it is their solution to successfully propagating plants.
Made with a unique blend of ingredients all contained in a water-based gel, Clonex Rooting Gel will relentlessly cling to plant cuttings. Meaning, it stays put and delivers the elements needed for a plant cutting to successfully root.
This also means that Clonex gel can be used on plant cuttings going into an aero cloner or a plant starter cube, because it won’t be easily washed away. Instead it stays in contact with the stem, protects the cut area, and provides what is needed for root cells to develop.
Clonex gel won’t blow around, potentially be inhaled, or easily wash off the plant cutting, unlike rooting powders. Meaning it’s safer to use for both the grower and the plant cutting.
Clonex Rooting Gel can be used on all types of cuttings including woody, herbaceous, flowering ornamental species, vegetables, fruit trees, and small fruits. It contains a full spectrum of mineral nutrients and trace elements to nourish the young roots during their important formative stages.
The active ingredient in Clonex is Indole-3-butyric acid, a plant hormone in the auxin class, and can cause ocular irritation and damage, dermal and respiratory irritation from exposure to high concentrations, and toxicity from ingestion.

we need more testing video bro
I liked the video soon as the “ censored “ flowers popped up…… my guy❤️
You'd have clones in 5 days if you used it right
I use Hormonex Use it for the first transplant watering too.
Will look that up!
What kind of planet is BANNED on youtube???!!
Cannabis in this case. I'd guess that they censor other plants well.
what do you mean banned? there are millions of videos of marijuana on YT@@JimmyBHarvests
Flowers Banned 🚫 🤔
☹️
it’s not a good video. First contamination of the bottle, don’t take cuttings from plants who are in bloom, don’t putin water with this product.
I have clone x too. Even though i use a substrate, i have wondered about this way of propogating with it. Experiments are how discoveries are made!
So, it's nice to see someone try it with a controlled procedure for valid results.
To me, the results show that even though diluted in water, the hormone is still contained in the pot and absorbed.
A useful video is the "why propogation fails" on here.
I have tried to propogate a rose in a potato with clone x after seeing a short. Only the potato grew. 😂
Gel is specifically for substrate or starter plugs. If your using a cloner or just water soaking them then you would want the liquid version which is meant for Aeroponic cloners
Ive always questioned the legitimacy of those propagate in a potato/banana videos 😂😂
I'm almost certain it's a sham or just click bait!
