Heeeeck yes, I am so eager for you to get into Empire of the Damned!! And really hope that your Malazan journey continues smoothly. Happy reading friend 🤩🤩
Great to see that you are starting House of Chains. The first part will be a unique experience for sure. In case if you think you may forget parts from the previous books, you can check out some book summary discussions from Phillip and AP or from others.
My August TBR: «The Green Angel Tower part 1 & 2» (Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn, #3) by Tad Williams (Epic Fantasy) «Leviathan Falls» (The Expanse, #9) by James S.A. Corey (Space opera) «The Thousandfold Thought» (The Prince of Nothing #3) by R. Scott Bakker (Grimdark/Dark Epic Fantasy)
You had me at Malazan! 😂 I hope you enjoy it, I usually take quite large breaks between entries, but it would be interesting to know what it's like after such a long break!
I think Soulbrand was the lowest rating I gave an Andrew Rowe book so far, 3.5. One of the main characters was driving me crazy with how they were behaving for a lot of the book. And the plot got a bit repetitive. Still a super fun world though! Have you read the two Shattered Legacy books in this world? Crystal Awakening and Phantom Chamber? They’re really fun! I’m excited for Arcane Ascension 5 this September!
@@Jo_B_art I haven’t read the shattered legacy books yet but hope to in the future:). I’m still really excited for soul brand even though it may be the weakest of the series
Kick butt TBR! Those are all ones I want to read too! I am going to finish Empire of the Damned in August too, we should compare notes! Love that Soul Brand cover
I love Primal Hunter. Probably the coolest LitRPG I'm reading right now. If anyone is worried about having overwhelming info dump with massive stat blocks, you don't have to worry. Initially there are big stat blocks but the further you go in, they don't show up and the characters talk about them but it's not shown.
That’s a nice stack of books you have there 😂. Wow, that’s a lot of reading for one month, even for me. I read 13 in June but they were smaller. Hope you enjoy them!
He Who Fights with Monstes was in Audbile's recent 2 for 1 credit sale, so it transitioned from my wish list to short list. Brian sure makes it sound like fun! I think the first Malazan book was on that sale as well (I picked up 8 in total), so can't wait! Apparently there's a Ray Bradbury Theatre show from the early 80s that's on Prime Video now. My wife is watching it and questions how I've never heard of it (I was like 5 when it came out and she's only 2 years older than me). Just started Fellowship of the Ring last week, first time reading it. The differences with the movie are interesting so far. After that I have a slew of Ray Bradbury books.
Now that's a list. It's probably a good idea to go ahead and order the 3rd Covenant of Steel book, when you get to how The Martyr ends . . . you're going to want to continue.
@@AndrewsWizardlyReads awesome! Incidentally, his new book dropping in September takes place a couple decades after the end of this trilogy, so if you like it there's more on the horizon. I'm a few chapters into an ARC of that and it's great so far!
Very excited to kick off the read along this week in the discord! For anyone who would like to join there will be a free epub download in there and an ARC sign up for the sequel!!
Great lineup for the month. My tbr is finishing up The Court of Broken Knifes by Anna Smith Spark (book 1 in the Empire's of Dust trilogy), Blood Meriden by Cormac McCarthy, As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner and Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad. If i have the time, I'll squeeze in The Emperor of Thornes by Mark Lawrence. Happy reading.
I hope u like all books! I’ve read house of chains by Steven Erikson it was interesting read! Happy reading to you!! 😊 I liked the way you displayed your books on the desk!! 😊😊
I think taking a whole month to read House of Chains is a smart idea. Also taking a month break between books would be good for you as well to avoid series burnout again.
I'm stuck with US editions of both Vampire and Damned 😒 so pardon my jealousy. I look forward to reading Damned, though. I'll probably get to it once the weather gets cooler. Have a good week, Andrew
Curious to see what you like better between the 2 LitRPG picks. I just finished He Who Fights With Monsters and it was pretty enjoyable. Hope House of Chains is better this time around. I just read that and it was awesome!
