I was inspired by the depth and emotion behind the lyrics of "Lead, Kindly Light." I wanted to make instruments evoke the same emotions the words so easily express. So I wrote this arrangement as a sort of tone poem for piano and strings, where music paints a picture of the journey a person takes when searching for the light.
