It's now 2023, over 10 years since I migrated from DotA 6.something to DotA 2. This moment in the history of the game was when I was playing at my max. Best reflexes, great game sense, 10+ hours a day. I'm now a senior something at my career, married and with 2 children. DotA is not a thing of the past, for me, but my golden age in the game is long gone. I will forever hold this era at high affection. Love the game.
you're right. na'vi would have had to reatreat and tp earlier, especially dendi and xboct. at the 2nd coil, I think they didn't see s4, so he could interrupt puppey easily. Moreover, I think he didn't even plan on coiling dendi, he just saw him after jaunting in to hunt down enigma (you can tell by the video that he's not instantly coiling him). Could even be luck as well, I'm not sure if he saw him uphill with that ward. Anyways, great finals, both teams epic epic epic.
+RappeGAMING They were like this as well when they were inside the room, they were just very tired so when they got interviewed they looked like they didn't care.
RappeGAMING Of course is is, have you ever played a full day nonstop? Your brain starts to get all weird, you can see in the interview of EG, that they weren't even listening to the questions, they were really tired, and when you're tired you can't even think straight.
I'll never forget that moment. :D And that was the only TI that I ever watched. Cuz, I wasnt working at that time. I had plenty of free times. I believe that S4 was planning to do it, that's why his team was pushing so hard.
Watching this today when: -Puppey is the only player to play TI1-TI10 -Kuroky just failed to qualify for TI for the first time -Dendi can’t even reach TI10 qualifiers -Funn1k reached TI10 quals but eliminated early -S4 is still playing for Alliance who have qualified for TI10 -Bulldog has transitioned to being a memer
and now Alliance is back to their glory days! Today they won a tournament with the good 'ol puck, nature , lone druid, et in the finals. rat doto is back boys.
Even though I generally support Chinese teams, Ti 3 was so enjoyable to watch, probably the most exciting Ti yet. Also the old Alliance was one truly unstoppable team.
That version of Alliance is probably the strongest team to have ever existed in Dota 2. Their synergy as a team was unmatched and their strategies revolutionised Dota. It was so much fun to watch them play and basically shit on everyone for 2 years.
Puppey's tp was canceled in the first clash. Dendi didn't bring a tp, he dropped his own for aegis. Xboct brought a tp but he pops his stun and turned to kill s4 but futilely, so he had to wait another 7~8 seconds to tp home. That maneuver (including dropping the dream coil) of s4 costs Na'Vi the game.
To the idiots saying that S4 only cancelled Puppey's TP, try rolling to 1:32 and using your eyes, those orb shaped things in your heads and look to the left. You can clearly see that Dendi is using a TP, Dream Coil's initial cast from Puck has a ministun which cancelled Dendi's TP. And please don't embarrass yourself by arguing with me, I've been playing DotA back since Eul was the map designer.
Tbh, if u watch closely. That dream coil from s4 are just lucky, coz he use it for puppey that running to the high ground (thats exactly where dendi teleporting) and somehow dendi just happened to be there. If you watch the replay and watch it from s4 perspective, alliance dont have a vision on navi jungle high ground
Na'Vi was so far ahead in terms of gold and items that Alliance couldn't win a team fight / defend their base. So when Na'Vi went for the Alliance base in the middle lane, Alliance decided to trade and went with for the top AND bottom lane. The other Alliance members managed to slow down Na'Vi at the mid long enough and when Na'Vi realized they had to defend, their teleports got interrupted. 1st interrupt cost them half the base and then 2 players got interrupted again when the 2nd fight began.
I think looking up there previous games with alchi and couple of supports, NaVi thought they could take them with alchi and good initiators. Alliance just proved they had more tricks up there sleeves.
That's what makes the Dota a hell of a game, no matter what advantage you have, you can never be too careless. That split push could have failed if they have not TPed so closed to each other (knowing there was a puck lurking). A moment of carelessness for NaVi caused them that game, not cheap tricks.
not really man, he's talking about the 1st coil in front of Alliance's midbase, where it does only cancel enig's tp. Dendi didn't have a tp scroll, since he drops it for aegis. And Xvost didn't use the tp yet when the coil hit. But s4 managed to draw Xvost's attention so that he turns on the stun and chase him futilely, ultimately leading to his late tp and his activating his bkb sooner so that he won't be stunned by himself.
So many comments about gamers not deserving such money or Alliance not deserving their victory. 1) Competitions are competitions, the amount of money won in them is based on how popular they are. We are not living in a fair world. 2) Don't forget that D2 is based on WC3 DotA, a game that got so popular because of all strategical details occured by accident. Valve maintained most of them and the fact that those are faults in 88mati88's opinion is exactly that, HIS OPINION.
I feel bad for Navi. They have the most personality of any team in esports. Dendi is a goof, Puppey and Xboct are good interviews, and they give back to the community. I dont remember where i saw it but someone said that puppey was signing autographs in all his free time at TI3.
Can we not just get along and decide that both teams deserved the million dollars, Alliance more than Na'Vi, but Na'Vi did a great fucking job this year and 2nd place proves it .
The one in mid cancelled just Puppey's tp, Dendi decided to drop his TP scroll for the aegis instead of dropping his wand and Xboct tp's 5 seconds after the coil. He cancels 2 more near Roshan but by that time Na'vi already lost.
By no means I'm undermining [A], but I think what s4 actually did is directly stopping 1 TP channelling (from Puppey) and delaying the other 2 from XBOTC and Dendi. Unlike Funn1k, who immediately TP afterwards, those 3 caught in the dream coil seemed to think that they got initiated on (because Furion and CK + Wisp can just tp back and make it a 5v3 for [A]). The main thing is: the only one channelling TP before s4 threw the ult was Puppey.
Actually, he canceled only one, and it was a huge oversight for navi to go into the base with so few tps. Hell, they could have gone to Alliance's fountain and got some tp's or died and bought back there. I adore navi but it is what it is!
You can see NP's ulti hit both Enigma and TA, that means s4 has vision uphill, with Puck's orb I guess. Maybe luck, maybe that was his famous crazy-reaction (which made LD shouted "What a freaking player" in that game), but all said and done. Na'vi played better but they lost. Alliance proved they can play under pressure and make unbelievable comebacks with game-changing decision.
Actually it's IceFrog that makes the design and creative decisions for DotA 2, Valve just supplies the team to do all the heavy lifting. It's not a glitch, it's a design flaw that turned into a design decision years ago back in DotA 1, I believe in 2009. IceFrog has seen no reason to change it thus Valve does not either.
1.) There was no backdoor 2.) Backdooring is not against the rules, that's what backdoor protection is for. 3.) Going backdoor would have been dumb since [A] didn't really have enough damage for that.
Не пойму,почему все считают,что он ОТМЕНИЛ 3 телепорта?По сути,телепорт был сбит только у Энигмы,Алхимик не успел начать телепортацию до Коила,а у Темпларки вообще с собой не было свитка телепорта.
Love it or hate it, the days of rat dota made for some amazing to watch dota. Not so fun to play but seriously fun to watch! Such an epic finish!

s4 remembers.
9 years and i still remember how ti3 is the peak of dota 2 tournament for me
definetly
greatest puck gameplay, ever. Do you remember when he died with his orb, buyback and teleport? That's legend
No, I'm a Dota rookie, but that sounds badass. I came to this video to get an I dea on how to use puck b4 actually using him. On to the next.
Is there a video to that?
In this game he managed to avoid an invisible Alchemist stun from blank point distance.
He did it again recently: www.joindota.com/en/news/65983-s4-still-remembers-how-to-play-puck

RappeGAMING Yes, they were full of adrenalin inside the room, when it happned, The interview was after all that.
it doesnt matter if u have 20 or 30 kills, the goal of dota is to destroy the throne..brilliant play by Alliance

they can't adapt to the new meta, like 2013 and 2016 meta is totally different. So yeah, they aren't good at Dota for now
That version of Alliance is probably the strongest team to have ever existed in Dota 2. Their synergy as a team was unmatched and their strategies revolutionised Dota. It was so much fun to watch them play and basically shit on everyone for 2 years.

Perfect strategy.
Alliance is a perfect team because their have a hard push(actual) and a perfect back game.
Just perfect.
I gotta admit that I absolutly hate playing against Rat Dota, but I still need to honor how Alliance perfected the strat to win TI based on it.
You are playing against Alliance. You do not ban Furion because you can counter it. Alliance instantly picks Furion.
Can we not just get along and decide that both teams deserved the million dollars, Alliance more than Na'Vi, but Na'Vi did a great fucking job this year and 2nd place proves it .

best puck in eu
Biggest play in I3. The aegis steal, this and the last tp cancel were just such big plays
How did he cancel 3 tps? I only saw 1.
he cancelled 3 hero with one who used tp ! spectator was just over too exited of the game ! 3 hero cancelled to defend their towers pretty big deal :)
I only watched the last 20 minutes or so on a stream the day afterwards because I'm in GMT and when it was live it was like 4am.
Who’s here 2020
Pepega

Thanks for Io user, too. He's a great supporter.
Never gets old. Legends
cant predict every possibility thats the beauty of the game.
omg the feels watching this again!
Na'Vi lost when they didn't ban Furion
Then S4 would pick Lone Druid for Bulldog and they would still do the rat doto
the animation for it was casted as coil was, watch it closely again and again and you might see it.

P.S Fountain Hooks are not a glitch and NP/CK&IO are not OP. It's just a strategy just like in any other game.
0:40 Luminous said "he canceled 3" (TPs) but i only see enigma's TP getting canceled
They can't tp in dreamcoil.
Also there is no point of tping to dying teammates.

"ALLIANCE OUTMANEUVERING NA'VI!" so far that comment was good XD.
Only one tp cancelled.
***** Caster said that he cancelled three.
***** Why does anything matter?
+Gytax0 Yep it's just a game, it's not like a million dollars is the prize on it.
+Gytax0 it's obvious that the other two heroes will use tp.. Alchemist and Templar
TheGracianex So what exactly stopped them from using tps after dream coil went off?
Never gets old.

this was 2k match. nice carry alchemist and nice support kuro dog early game
How is that disappointing? That was perfectly executed.
Well. Fountain hook has been in the game for a long time with the dev fully aware of it. Not sure why its frowned upon.
Who is the co-caster and main caster here? Seems like they're fighting about shoutcasting to me
