Awesome! Thanks to your original video of this case, I picked it up months ago. As far as it fitting the smart controller, I was wondering if it did--but, you proved it...just waiting for my controller to arrive.
FYI the DJI brand Mavic 2 Protector case is already designed to fit the smart controller. Just take out the two precut foam tabs where the old controller goes.
store.dji.com/product/mavic-2-protector-case?from=autocomplete&position=2 As 777boeing pointing out, this is a good product when you need protection to Mavic 2, battery, charger & DJI Smart Controller ( all in one )
Thank you sir. Saw these holes on my recent arrival of dji mini 3 pro RC controller and had no clue what they were for. I was guessing some sort of shade mount or iPad mount. Lanyard holder make perfect sense. Thanks for doing the hard work I’m finding the size and type of screw. I will find out today if it’s the same size for mini 3 RC.
Thanks for the video, $6 and an hour later, success! Also had a PD strap lying around I wanted to use with this controller and was going to take a $18 strap off Amazon made for screwing into the controllers and swap the cheap strap for the PD one. This is honestly better (nicer screws from Home Depot than the ones on the Amazon item) and cheaper! Less waste too (no unneeded cheap strap). Thanks again.
Aldryn, good info on the bag...I recently purchased the PolarPro Rugged Case which I really like, but will have to return it now since my Smart Controller is due to arrive tomorrow (Mon) and there's just no room for it in that case. The case you featured looks like a good option for the M2P, (3) batteries + the new controller. Appreciate the update.
Great video gives me ideas for my controller when I get it. Just bought my first drone Mavic 2 pro with smart controller. It is currently sitting at fedex in Tennessee waiting for custom clearance before it will finish its trip up to Seattle. Was hoping to fly it this weekend. Love your videos!
Im getting my new Mavic 2 Zoom with a smart controller combo tomorrow morning. I bought a new UV glass filter for my camera, they tell me to use a rubber glove to remove the old or original one. How do recommend removing the original camera filter to replace it with a UV filter ???
Nice. I’m just surprised they didn’t use 1/4 20. There are so many camera straps and D-ring fixtures out there it seems like they would’ve use that. I will definitely figure something out. 👍🏻
An upgrade would be the mavic 2 pro. The zoom would be the same as your current pro but with zoom as far as camera goes. The 2 pro is a camera upgrade.
I have found my own way of storing and carrying my drone and all the accessories I have for it, but I find your backpack very convenient for you, because you have the DJI new controller. But let me ask you about the controller, precisely: Do you miss the size of the i-pad? Or the fact that it has some other advantages over the i pad makes it worth buying it?
Darn, wish I would had watched you video on this bag a day ago, because I ordered from Amazon the Lowepro 250 bag. This bag looks like it would maybe work better, smaller. I wanted a bag that I can carry my Epson Moverio BT35e glasses. Looks like they would fit into the larger inside pocket where you had your Ipad. Thought I had it figured out....
Great ideas, thank you! Quick kind of unrelated question: Do you find yourself enjoying the smart controller enough that you aren't even thinking of going back to phone/tablet or is it more of a circumstantial convenience?
DJI consistently miss the little things in their design that are mostly important to users, that's why 3rd party companies with top end 3D printers step in and make a killing - take the gimbal cover for Mavic 2 Pro with the dome, nightmare putting back on - 3rd company makes a better designed one within weeks - well-done FlytPath on your DIY lanyard :)
I love how you’re using products you already have. And I love peak design stuff also
Thanks for giving us insight on gear and accessories. We appreciate it.
Thanks for your help & one of THE BEST drone sites on the net !
Really appreciated the tip on using a rubber glove to unloosen the Mavic 2 zoom's camera lens cover..Great advise as usual.. Thanks Ralph

So helpful and thoughtful. Appreciate what you do.
Thanks for good information about best lanyard dji controller

Looks amazing!!!
Thanks for the info, have been thinking of picking up a Mavic 2 pro with new controller to go with my M2 Zoom. Keep the videos coming.
Thanks for watching Gary

Great! I'm going with this solution, have the same PD strap already.
Very nice setup
Any comparison between this Smart Controller vs the regular Mavic pro 2 controller?
What would you like compared?
Question about battery chargers.....i have a mavic pro with a third party fast changer, will a mavic pro charger work with a mavic pro 2 ?
Mavic pro Charger does not work with mavic 2

Thanks for reply

Timothy Church ya I made a video about zoom filters. Check that out. Ya for the first time I used a rubber glove.

This is the same thread size and type as most computer case thumb screws. I bought some m4 eye screws from amazon that works perfect
I want to upgrade from my Mavic Pro....should I get the Zoom or Pro 2 ?
An upgrade would be the mavic 2 pro. The zoom would be the same as your current pro but with zoom as far as camera goes. The 2 pro is a camera upgrade.
FlytPath
Gotcha. Looks like the pro 2 is the way to go.
Thanks. I’m a SoCal flyer as well.
Nice mod and case!

Great DIY video. Thank you :-)
Tks.
Do you use UA-cam thumbnails to help with your production on it?
Nice Info as always. How about doing a video on Lowepro Drone Guard 250 BackPack
If I can get a hold of the bag I wilk
useful sharing. thanks so much and have a great day :)

Smart controller fits in the official Mavic 2 hard case 👍
Good work. Does the smart controller fit into the little fly-more bag?
I don't have the bag, but from what I've seen online it fits. But you will have to sacrifice a battery or smash it in there.
Great Video as always. Did you verify if the controller does fit into the DJI Hard Case? It looks like there are cutouts for it.
Great ideas, thank you!
Quick kind of unrelated question:
Do you find yourself enjoying the smart controller enough that you aren't even thinking of going back to phone/tablet or is it more of a circumstantial convenience?
Not going back :)
@@FlytPath Thanks! I was hoping that was the answer as I wait here for mine to arrive contemplating whether it was a wise purchase or not :)
It'd be nice if that controller worked with the Mavic Pro. Much more convenient that a CrystalSky and Mavmount.

Awesome
I traded in my Mavic air, sent it back for credit to buy accesseries for the Mavic 2 Zoom.
Socket screw head? That's an Allen head
Ya idk that’s what the packaging said. Lol
Awesome
