No, those control arms are there as a centering guide, they are not torsion bars. They have no preload on them. So you do not have to losen or adjust them to install this lift
Hey Josh, I bought my jkus used and I'm not sure how big of a lift, or if I even have a lift. Is there a way to measure and tell if the suspension has been altered from stock? Love the videos!❤ ^w^
I had a 3" lift put on my 14 JKU. the installer stated that I didn't need control arms. i left the shop and had death wobble before I got home. They said the steering component was the problem. had it changed, no death wobble but didn't handle well. I went ahead and put adjustable control arms on. Not sure if I got the camber correctly. what is the best way to adjust the camber at home? aliment shop said they couldn't do it.
Not generally on a lift that small. As long as once complete, the trac bar and the drag link still run parallel to eachother, then you are fine.... usually over 3" suggests trac bar relocation or replacement....
The comments on which oil cooler video? I have three of them. All comments are on, except for the video where the comments were part of the contest for the giveaway, I turned those off because the giveaway is over..... buy the how to video and the other one comments are on. As for the product, there is nothing wrong with Dorman, so have at it.... if you need it
The ride quality actually improved. First, the previous shocks, 3 of the 4 were blown anyways, so just having new shocks made all the difference in the world, second, 2.5" is a "small" lift on a JL. There is still plenty of freedom of movement from the control arms to allow it. Finally, having dual rate springs makes a difference in keeping the factory on road feel, while improving its off road handling. Long story short, the final product was actually a smoother and more comfortable ride both on and off road.
Josh do you have to loosen the control arms to adjust after installing the lift? Thank you for a great video!
Nope, did not have to touch the control arms at all
@@JeepingForBeginners I meant the preload in the bushings from lifting it. Thanks

When you do a 2.5 lift do you need to replace the track bar?

Who is reputable alignment shop in Vegas that deals with Jeeps? just did the mopar lift and it wanders all over the place
Why did you turn off comments on your oil cooler video? Doorman is not good? Please clarify

What I find crazy about this lift is it is 2.5" without adjustable control arms or drop brackets. That has got to be a less than comfortable ride.
