The more attacking players the better, the skill and scoring will sell the sport so well. Hopefully MLS loosens some rules to allow for special players like these
Lewandowski would ideally fit the Chicago Fire, considering we have a big Polish population in the city and in the surrounding areas. But first, if Chicago wants to make big moves like that, we have to discuss what is the fate of Shaqiri. Will Shaq be willing to share his star status with Lewa, or will Shaq just decide its best to leave?
Miami wouldn’t have to offload all of those players to get Di Maria. I’m not sure where you’re getting your info. Getting rid of Campana would do it-because then he’d be their third DP and they could pay him whatever they want. If they wanted to keep Campana, they could buy him down. Getting rid of Krystof would free up almost enough room by itself to make that possible.
Campana is a U22 DP. With the new rule, they can buy him down and open up a full DP spot for DiMaria. Many Argentines think this deal is already agreed and the only question is this summer or in January. The death threats back home make the summer more likely.
Can you explain how the u22 slots work with respect to the budget. As I understand there is a smaller charge to the budget (150k) but the team can pay above that up to the maximum salary, which is just shy of 700k. Is that correct.
Campana is a young DP (not a U22), but he can be bought down or moved. If so, Miami could sign another DP (doesn’t have to be a young DP anymore) OR they could choose to sign another U22 and get an additional $2m in GAM. A U22 can be signed for up to ~$670k, but they count only $150k or $200k against the cap (depending on the age).
Posted a Thread 🧵 this Morning over the possible Summer Signings. One name I dropped was Anthony Martial who's a Free Agent out of Man U. Atlanta who doesn't have a Striker now are in the Market. I also want for Griezmann to come to Atlanta. He'd love Truist Park and Braves Baseball. He'll have a Culture Shock with College Football as well since he loves Sports.
I am a person with low attention span but somehow this is the 1 person I can listen to. Also I think the KDB to galaxy or LAFC is unrealistic, with LAFCs Giroud and LLoris, and galaxys reus there would be to many financial constraints. If he went to galaxy in 2025 (on a free), and if marco reus dosent extend contract then it would maybe work but he would have to take a pay cut, like reus is and make up for it in sponsorships. Also I don't think he would work well with vanneys style of play, or with riqui and gaston. (I'm a galaxy fan)
Thank you for the kind words! I think changes will happen this summer and maybe some of these guys sign a team friendly deal that turns into a pay raise the following season
What do you mean financial constraints? Lloris is only getting paid $350k, so he’s not even on a TAM deal. He’s way below the league average for salary. Giroud and Bouanga are DPs, but they have a third DP that they can pay whatever they want and he only counts ~$670k.
No. Soccer in San Diego is insanely popular, massive Mexican fan base. Plus I know it’s another sport but the San Diego Padres have ranked #2 in stadium attendance in MLB for last 4 years
@mrmr5580 I would agree with you, but I think if Messi is in Miami when he comes, they would try to play on the same team again. Another market for him if it's not Miami or LA could be Orlando. They also have a large Brazilian population.
I don’t see any of these players (especially the big names) wanting to go to any team that isn’t in Miami, New York or in Southern California. These current roster rules are holding MLS back, we could’ve already had a big 5 with the 2 LA teams, Miami and maybe Chicago and in february san diego that even win the CCL every year and could compete in the club world cup but no, all teams are forced to be shit and only have a couple of good players.
I agree that if there were less restrictions the big market teams would be some of the biggest in the world. It will be harder to attract the bigger names to small market clubs in MLS.
I'm hoping De Bruyne leaves Man City, im an Arsenal fan, he's absolutely killed us at times over the years 🤣 no but he's a truly magnificent player still, this season just gone in the Prem, he still had 4 goals and 10 assists after missing half the season, KDB to NYCFC would make sense
@MLSMoves I'm not saying he will, it just strikes me as making sense, NYCFC will need a big signing for when they move in to the new stadium in 2027, and Apple want more big names too
Lewandowski is kind of unlikely to come to NYCFC just from the fact they refuse to sign anyone that's either too big of a name or too old. Lewandowski is both of those. Lukaku tho, give him a North Face and Timberland endorsement deal and he'll be here in no time
Also I think Miami need a transfer ban. They already have Jordi, Sergio, Messi, and Suarez. It would be unfair if they were to sign another big name like Di Maria or Neymar
Di Maria and Messi are Argentinas best players right now. Imagine both of them playing in MLS, insane.
Players I want to see in MLS;
John Brooks
Novakovich
Julian Green
Duane Holmes
Where is green?
The more attacking players the better, the skill and scoring will sell the sport so well. Hopefully MLS loosens some rules to allow for special players like these
we need defenders in this league

I think you meant former Dortmund teammate Marco Reus, but would love to see the link up nonetheless!
I did misspeak. Thank you for catching that but you know what I mean! Lol
Campana is a U22 DP. With the new rule, they can buy him down and open up a full DP spot for DiMaria. Many Argentines think this deal is already agreed and the only question is this summer or in January. The death threats back home make the summer more likely.
They can either buy down Campana or sell him to open up a DP spot or U22 spot
Can you explain how the u22 slots work with respect to the budget. As I understand there is a smaller charge to the budget (150k) but the team can pay above that up to the maximum salary, which is just shy of 700k. Is that correct.

I would love to see Lewy or KDB come to LA Galaxy, but with all 3 DP spots filled, I don't see how we could sign one of them this year.
Lewandowski would be perfect for the Galaxy or Chicago

Atlanta have to do something
I’m sad Modric will never play in MLS. Lukaku would be nice btw!
Modric wasn’t happening imo. Lukaku 👀
Lukaku ,probably in the future
I want to the LAFC one it would be too perfect
Makes too much sense
Lukaku would be unlikely to happen this Summer, but I can see him signing for an MLS club in the foreseeable future
He will be here eventually!

LA Galaxy couldn’t sign him without moving one of their DPs. Reus will be on a TAM deal.
Why do you consider San Diego small market?
I guess you could call it a medium market. It’s not top 5 is what I should have said
@@MLSMoves San Diego is gonna be top 5 soon bro
No. Soccer in San Diego is insanely popular, massive Mexican fan base. Plus I know it’s another sport but the San Diego Padres have ranked #2 in stadium attendance in MLB for last 4 years
I hope MLS signs Neymar. He's my favorite player
He will come soon. Maybe next summer?
Maybe next year, I think he will at some point
He will be in Miami after his SA contract ends.
@stevenygabbyperez695 I reckon he'll go to LA Galaxy, he just feels like a one of their guys to me
@mrmr5580 I would agree with you, but I think if Messi is in Miami when he comes, they would try to play on the same team again. Another market for him if it's not Miami or LA could be Orlando. They also have a large Brazilian population.
Griezmann should come to La Galaxy only! The other team already hace lloris and Girund! Griezmann to La Galaxy!! Now
LAFC or nothing honestly for him
Y’all can have lewy, griezmann is ours
@@MLSMoves hopefully Galaxy! Well see!
His best friend is Carlos Vela. He will go to LAFC
Yes and di maria

Mo Salah I like to see him MLS
That would be a good one!
off to saudi imo
I'm hoping De Bruyne leaves Man City, im an Arsenal fan, he's absolutely killed us at times over the years 🤣 no but he's a truly magnificent player still, this season just gone in the Prem, he still had 4 goals and 10 assists after missing half the season, KDB to NYCFC would make sense
We haven’t really seen a Man City player go to NYCFC that’s why I’m skeptical
@MLSMoves I'm not saying he will, it just strikes me as making sense, NYCFC will need a big signing for when they move in to the new stadium in 2027, and Apple want more big names too
@MLSMoves Didn't it happen with Frank Lampard? MC to NYC?
Lewandowski is kind of unlikely to come to NYCFC just from the fact they refuse to sign anyone that's either too big of a name or too old. Lewandowski is both of those. Lukaku tho, give him a North Face and Timberland endorsement deal and he'll be here in no time
I hope Lukaku comes to MLS
Which stars could you see come to a small market like the Rapids?
I could of seen a Marco Reus level player coming if they were willing to spend
D Maria should come but to a different club! Nothing good for mls if he goes to Miami
I can honestly see Lukaku coming to NYCFC..
Bring him!!
San Diego is not a small market 😂
Also I think Miami need a transfer ban. They already have Jordi, Sergio, Messi, and Suarez. It would be unfair if they were to sign another big name like Di Maria or Neymar
I agree
100% total agree
i hope lewondowski, reus, and de bruyne go to la galaxy.
I don’t think they will get them all lol
@@MLSMoves lmao
griezmann as a winger? goodness me and atletico consider him untouchable and most likely signing another contract
You don’t think he could play on the right wing
Dude said ATL is a small market team. 😂
De Bryne is better then Griezman.
You think so? It’s close…
Sergio Ramos to Miami ???
Probably not
are you implying that the only place to experience culture is miami and los angeles?....
Nah lol. I’m saying that’s where a lot of players want to be
Why is there threats to Dimaria?
Not sure why but that’s what’s going on
Need to sign more South American talent no need for 30 yr olds
It depends on if they’re still good
agreed but execs see it as a marketing move + w strides in sports science player careers are prolonging
