I watch these on a 77in 4k screen at 4ft distance. I find myself pausing the video all the time to admire the sceneries. These videos should be classified as anti-depressants
I can’t imagine the planning involved in getting prepared for all your journeys! Especially when Tori and the kids go along. Jim, you’re and Tori’s knowledge on these journeys is so enjoyable. Thank you for sharing. Thank you Ted also. I catch myself always, looking back on Jim’s videos to make sure you are ok.
First, nice Jim and Ted. Tthis is the best outdoor channel I know. That's exactly what I want to do.... You can only dream of that. Maybe you're the reason why I'm flying to Canada one day and doing a smaller tour there. With a gold pan, of course. . Greetings Tom 👍
The caribou was pretty friendly the way it kept returning ti your campsite. What a scary realization that a grizzly was right behind you and Ted. However, that's not as scary as running out of coffee. 😁
I wanna move to Canada now. Just beautiful ❤️😻 insanely gorgeous. And of course the amazing Baird brothers sharing their knowledge with us is priceless. 🎉
This video gets the best picture award in all of your videos. Because of the drone shots for the first 8 minutes and of course the beautiful stretch of wilderness that you were in. Well done 👍
Arctic explorers back in the old days literally starved to death with plenty of food to eat because the potted meats were so lean. Good idea with the the lard thing. Not good for heart conditions but fine for healthy young folks. I hope we see some Char as we get closer to the sea. Thanks Jim and Ted for these great videos.
Interesting and I was recently doing some investigating on lard and learned that Lard is high in monounsaturated fats, which can be beneficial for heart health when consumed in moderation. It also contains saturated fats, which have been linked to heart disease when consumed in excess.
I thought you two getting so close to the caribou was cool, but when I heard about the tundra grizzly, that made the encounter all the more special. And then the caribou came back, and how neat was that. RigRag portage was take-your-breath-away beautiful. Sad to see this series ending soon.
You have become very talented with your filming and editing jim..the drone footage in the rapids was awesome, and the music added even more awesomeness! I really enjoy watching your videos.thanks man
WOW You did great there Jimbo !!! Oh A BEAR was watching you all !!! Bear was coming for fish you know the fish Teddy caught WOW !!! Love the rice but am done with rice now am into noodles make my own for myself !!! All out of rice & mash potatoes for myself !!!
Smart on the lard. The other stuff real unhealthy. So is cooking with aluminum- I have a video on it posted this week. Glad the grizzly didn’t get closer. Love the footage, back stories and adventure. Love your videos with the family. You are a terrific dad Jim. Both of you amazing parenting.
Thanks a lot. So, other than the lard we cooked with, we ate fish, home made beef stew, and oatmeal. There’s a lot of sugar in that instant oatmeal which isn’t ideal but we are burning a lot of calories. So, other than the sugar in my oatmeal I would say you’re incorrect about it all being “real unhealthy”.
Thank-you for Sharing the Majesty of Our Great Northeern Country & Salutes too You & Ted for the Bravery, Shown, so Philosophically, that You Both Show & Endure !!
Hepburn Falls! Very cool. So envious of this. Really appreciate seeing it Jim. Your final camp exactly where I've dreamed of being dropped off with a pak canoe or float tube to just wander and fish between the falls of both rivers there and overnight hike to Wilberforce... Kudos to you and Ted too, for taking us along.
Just back from a 5-week fly fishing hiatus in NZ so playing catch up on the Arctic posts. Two things spring to mind: 1. Where did the twigs for fire suddenly appear from? 2. Lucky for Ted there were a lot of fish early on in the trip and you aren't a canibal!
I'm back going to stay and fight back and go hiking trails and 4x4 trails wish your episodes you keep putting on UA-cam thank you very much be safe guys 🤠✌️🏕️🚣🌮☕🙋💙💙💙🏞️
The caribou new it could run faster than you guys so hung out with you knowing the bear would get one of you while it escaped. And you thought he was your friend!
It's most likely that Teddy Poo is responsible for the coffee shortage because of his extremely larger cup that he thinks that no one notices. I bet he's got some hid someplace. Better check.
On this part of the journey, they were on foot. They were walking up the Hood. During Franklin's first overland expedition, the party struggled to catch fish in the Hood River primarily due to the timing and environmental conditions. It was late in the season, and the river's water levels were low, which affected fish availability. Additionally, they faced challenges with their fishing techniques and equipment, which were not always effective in the river's conditions. Overall, these factors contributed to their difficulties in obtaining enough food from fishing.
Well Caffeine is addictive but not majorly so. I’m just kidding about the panic of running out of coffee of course though. Look at when we were on Alone, for example, that was 75 days, no coffee, tea, etc. it’s not really a “panicked situation” or whatever I canned it here haha.
I know, it’s just that I’d initially planned this as a solo trip but Ted wanted to come along and, even though I knew the videos wouldn’t get as many views if Ted was there, I thought, in looking back on the experience, it would be a lot more meaningful to have done the trip with my brother than to have decided to do it solo for more views. That being said, he really has ruined every minute of it from beginning to end though. I may as well have been speaking in tongues for every episode and filmed every shot upside down at this point. Looking back, I’d be better off doing the adventure with a three legged screaming goat.
Thanks for chiming in. Also note that playing ringette gives you more control than playing ice hockey. The only problem is, if you like hockey, than you won’t enjoy paying ringette as much, and you don’t get good at hockey while you’re playing ringette (the easier, less skilled option), you’ll get good at ringette. That’s why I choose to canoe as opposed to canayak.
I watch these on a 77in 4k screen at 4ft distance. I find myself pausing the video all the time to admire the sceneries. These videos should be classified as anti-depressants
Same here just 60 inch TV though
Amazing comment, thanks
Anti depressants 😅🎉 for sure❤.
Be careful your eyes don’t go square!

Love the conversation regarding the bear...Millisecond...fact. Smiled at the respect the both of you have.
I finally disabled the voice robotic, now everything is normalized at least that's what I think ha, ha,😊
Yaaay!
The caribou was pretty friendly the way it kept returning ti your campsite. What a scary realization that a grizzly was right behind you and Ted. However, that's not as scary as running out of coffee. 😁

That area was very interesting. Beautiful but suspicious. Thanks for sharing JB!

Haha

Awesome episode, beautiful scenery and a curious caribou.
You have become very talented with your filming and editing jim..the drone footage in the rapids was awesome, and the music added even more awesomeness! I really enjoy watching your videos.thanks man

Unbelievable scenery. Truly amazing.
Just incredible video and another great adventure. Thank you so much for making these. Love this series too

Thanks for sharing and be safe .
What another great adventure! TY!
Love these videos! Amazing country! TY!
Thanks!
No problem!
Another amazing video. It looks to me like there are actually more trees and firewood closer to the coast despite being farther north.
Just back from a 5-week fly fishing hiatus in NZ so playing catch up on the Arctic posts.
Two things spring to mind:
1. Where did the twigs for fire suddenly appear from?
2. Lucky for Ted there were a lot of fish early on in the trip and you aren't a canibal!
Beautiful video.
Hopefully, the Canadian people keep this area well protected
I'm back going to stay and fight back and go hiking trails and 4x4 trails wish your episodes you keep putting on UA-cam thank you very much be safe guys 🤠✌️🏕️🚣🌮☕🙋💙💙💙🏞️
Hi Jim, we love your videos so much. I wish you would release it as one whole film though, it's painful waiting a week for the next episode :)
Working on it!
I get excited hearing people switching away from seed oils
Glad the little things bring you joy 👍 thanks a lot for tuning in
"Dum dum dum... Dum dump and pin!" 😂 made my day!
Let’s all, dump and pin with Jim
Is episode 14 coming.....? Want to see you bring this incredible journey to an end. Godspeed. You guys are awesome.
Yes, on Thursday
So, neither one of you would get to your bear spray. My previous question is answered. Just kidding. I am enjoying this trip with you.
The caribou new it could run faster than you guys so hung out with you knowing the bear would get one of you while it escaped. And you thought he was your friend!
Haha
All I see is Nova Craft canoe abuse hahahahaha! Great trip.
Did you look for any evidence of Franklin's campsites?
No really to be honest
❤👍
It's most likely that Teddy Poo is responsible for the coffee shortage because of his extremely larger cup that he thinks that no one notices. I bet he's got some hid someplace. Better check.
I brought up this fact and it was met with a surliness I didn’t want to encroach further on.
good call on the lard bud…
I wonder if the caribou was feeiling more safe around you and your camp
Maybe
I have a question. How do you decide which side to take at the braids? I am guessing they change from when the water is high to when is low.
Why did they starve with all the fish?
On this part of the journey, they were on foot. They were walking up the Hood. During Franklin's first overland expedition, the party struggled to catch fish in the Hood River primarily due to the timing and environmental conditions. It was late in the season, and the river's water levels were low, which affected fish availability. Additionally, they faced challenges with their fishing techniques and equipment, which were not always effective in the river's conditions. Overall, these factors contributed to their difficulties in obtaining enough food from fishing.
You start carrying an extra seat?
No, I just forgot to remove the stern seat in Yellowknife and I needed to pull it out to make room for gear.
Hi Jim, on what channel can I contact you? (I'm just a regular person)
Odd final statement. Now I have to wait for the next video to see if you got eaten by a bear.
With a coffee cup that filthy, you could brew it with a scoop of sand and get the same taste.
lol
I heard a old russian man say coffee drinkers are all addicts. As a bushmen you guys should learn to live comfortably without coffee
Well Caffeine is addictive but not majorly so. I’m just kidding about the panic of running out of coffee of course though. Look at when we were on Alone, for example, that was 75 days, no coffee, tea, etc. it’s not really a “panicked situation” or whatever I canned it here haha.
But if an old Russian said it…..
It's such a shame when Jim has to ruin his videos with... Ted. Sigh.
Double bladed paddle gives you more control.
Thanks for chiming in. Also note that playing ringette gives you more control than playing ice hockey.
