45 minutes is not enough time. Any chemical changes to the hair will cause some change. I had no pre-existing color. I've done it multiple times and with addition of conditioners and oils my hair feels great
+Tiffany Boney good to know. i have extensions over my locs right now but im going to try this before the holiday. my hair channel is lollilocs. thanks for the tips.
I'm not sure. I waited a few months because I wanted to restore my hair back to a soft texture. Your hair may feel dry after application. I'd treat the process similar to any other box color system you would use.
BigBanktella T what do you mean? Does the color fade? Or does the baking soda peroxide mix wash out? Once it lightens your hair it will not change back to your original hair color. It is permanently lightened. It does wash out as long as you thoroughly rinse your hair, which I highly suggest to prevent more damage to the shaft of your hair. Remember lightening the hair damages the existing structure of the hair shaft to allow the change.
thank you soon much! I'll definitely use this!
the same mixture is good for teeth whitening you just brush your teeth with it
leaving it overnight is why it might be so dry. 45 min in a plastic cap should be enough. did you have previous color on your hair?

Have you ever dyed your locs before using the Baking Soda & Peroxide on it?
No I haven't. I'm sure the process will work the same on dyed locs but not sure what color it would change your hair to.
can it come out
