Hey brother, great video showing how easy it can be to make your own parts. I made my own intakes for my 34 Hatteras with 1" green insulation foam. I made the posts shape, then took the foam out, and used acetone to melt any stuck foam, and then used sail battens for the horizontal louvers. Very labor intensive, but it's a custom fit, and cheaper than you can buy anywhere. OOHRAH!
Sure and I will have several. But bilge pumps don’t solve the problem of water entering the engine compartment. Why rely on a pump when water can enter four gaping holes in the hull of the boat? Google the court case Jurgensen vs Albin Marine, in which a similar Albin 33 sunk in the Potomac. The related lawsuit revealed other owners reporting water entering the engine compartment via side vents in a following or quartering sea. 🧐
Your videos are very inspiring and this one is no exception. Glad to see your channel is growing.
Johan thanks for the positive feedback. I’m glad you and others get the channel and understand what we’re trying to do. Thanks again !

Nice 👍🏼
Thanks Russel be sure to subscribe and spread the word 😃
Good solution. Do you plan to bond the dorades to the vent covers when installing?
Right Dave. I think a good marine sealant both for the dorade boxes and the vents to the hull. Although I want the vents still removable
@MotorCity Boat Werks use silicone so they're removable. Or 5200, so they're removable with a jackhammer lol. S/F
😎
Why not route the engine vent to the deck and put a dorade box up there? Then you could really take a wave.
I thought about that. 🧐Tight space for routing and the venting really needed to be out the outside of the boat
Can't you afford a bilge pump?
