    seems to me his brass looks the same before and after! Me thinks Dawn and Wash n Wax have the same foamy detergent ingredients. I use a converted tilted cement mixer to spin a sealable 5 gallon plastic bucket with spin-on lid. It's powered by a variable speed 3 hp exercise motor @ 30 rpm for 20 minutes. Ingredients include; Dawn, SS steel pins and jewelry polishing shapes, citric acid, and soft water- the citric acid can help pull Calcium hardness out too. It can give a new luster to the brass.

    Do you have problems with your pistol brass sticking in your dies?
    Do you need to lube your pistol brass because the brass is almost too clean?
    I’ve followed the same procedure (lemmie shine carnuba car soap) but with the pins and I found the 9mm cases sticking in the sizing die. Spoke to Dillon about it and first question they asked was am I using pin to clean my brass? They are seeing this problem a lot and they believe the pins were cleaning the cases too thoroughly so now lubing the cases was recommended.
    Instead I stopped cleaning them with pins in a tumbler and went back to the walnut media method which eliminated the problem.
    Was wondering if I cleaned without the pins whether it would still creating a sticking condition now that I’ve seen your video?

      Generally, the wax from the soap should be enough case lube, but you would have to try for yourself and see if you like how it feels in your press and dies.

    People….Don’t listen to this guy. Pop old primers out 1st. Use 1/8 teaspoon lemi shine and 2 squirts of Dawn dish soap or your favorite brass cleaning solution. Use pins to clean out the inside of casing and primer pockets. Do it right the 1st time. Using car wax on reloading brass has got to be the most asinine thing you can do. This guy is getting blocked.

      There is nothing wrong with his process. Cleaning primer pockets is overrated IMO. I personally would punch out the primers just because the brass will dry faster. The wash and wax product leaves a molecularly thin coating, no worse than NuFinish car polish and mineral spirits leaves.

    • @HisBEILness
      @HisBEILness 2 роки тому +7

      Calm down, dude. He isn’t forcing you to do it his way. I’ve tumbled tens of thousands of pistol and rifle brass in walnut media with some Nu-Finish wax. The layer of wax from the Nu-Finish is so incredibly small you’d never notice it. Brass comes our looking amazing. I’ve since switched to wet tumbling with no pins. Pins getting caught in the flash hole or neck of some cases is so annoying. No pins works just as well. I also tumble before depriming, otherwise the dies get all gummed up and nasty. Lots of ways to do it right, your way isn’t the only way.
