      Right... in the romanization system (Jyutping) we use, J has a Y sound ^^

      Cantonese is a tone langange which the number representing the tone of the chinese character

      Sunday is 星期日 (jat6) and Monday is 星期一 ( jat1), so you can see the meaning change accordingly when the tone changed.

      Same word but different number behind is different meaning. You have to pronounce the word according to the tone. Not easy language for me.
