The Djokovic clip was just a minor glitch in his code. It’s constantly updating so it’s bound to have some glitches every now and then.

I remember watching the Djokovic match live and he mentioned that his shoes were sticky and not allowing him to slide. If you look at this now you can see him getting caught on his toes rather than sliding like usual. Still cracks me up all these years later though 😂

Just a note on the Hit the Post one at 5:30, the umpire actually made the correct call because it hit the post, which is outside of the singles stick and therefore a permanent structure. Any ball that strikes a permanent structure is considered out of play, so therefore, it was Cuevas's point because it wasn't a valid return.

@@matija5555 The video literally says the umpire "wrongly" awarded Cuevas the point. However, it was the correct call because the post is a permanent structure. A situation happened recently where Tiafoe touched the net but still won the point because he touched the part beyond the singles stick.

A ball hitting the net post is an illegal shot in singles match.

Exactly. It's a bit unprofessional of Garin to complain about it. Tennis is his job after all, he should know the rules of the game. (Also, whoever subtitled it should probably do some researching before claiming the umpire is wrong)

No I don't think the rules specify that. If the ball touches the net (post include) it's not consider out. So the umpire was wrong. Although I would've replay the point as the ballgirl catche the ball before it landed twice (not like Cuevas would've got it anyway but still)
The umpire was right. Any part of the net outside the singles sticks is considered a permanent fixture. It's the same as if the ball hit the umpire chair and landed in.
If there are no singles sticks, the post is in. If there are singles sticks, any part of the net, including the posts, they are outside of the singles sticks are considered out. The umpire was entirely correct.

5:30 Umpire makes the correct decision. It is Cuevas's point. In a singles game played with a doubles net, singles' sticks are used, supporting the net where the posts should have been. Thus, the net is only between the sticks. Everything beyond them, including the post, is a permanent fixture. It is the same as with the umpire's chair. The ball was out on the post.
But they can hit around the posts and if it goes in the opponents court it is good. How does that work?!

Hello, even though u think its his head thats causing this. If you look at his feet u will see that they are really slipping on the field. That explains why after his every hit with racket his form gets off. He doesnt have stable ground and his feet are moving alongside his racquet
@@milostopalovic9765 His shoes are the culprit actually. His sponsor released a new version of tennis shoes and he tried em on for the match. The base of the shoe is smaller than usual and the sides of the shoe don't provide enough grip with the ground. Hence he keeps on losing his balance

Novaks forehand were probably due to him pushing his body to ridiculous limits. Not stoned, not drunk, not fake for sure. He isn't someone to do those things in such an important match. He lost every point in which he did that, so there's no way he was trying to do that, unless he wanted to lose points

What sort of bullshit are you saying lol there's absolutely no rule as to where the ball can touch the net... Lines are there for where the ball BOUNCES, not where it's at in midair. When a player hits the ball from the outside and it hits top of the net on the outside then bounces in that's ALWAYS be good, there's no freaking hawkeye nor "line" judges for the net.
