Thanks for clear explanation! I can understand how repulsive force is used to measure ac current But i wonder how to read exact figure as the pointer might oscillate consistently if it is ac current.

i think if the frequency of a.c is quite high then the poles developed are oscillating so fast such that they are not oscillating at all...
