Thank you SO MUCH for pointing out how you just can't really tell the mistakes of the nail tech/salon who did her set before, or even know how the set looked originally because it's been too long. I see SO MANY people trashtalk other's works when they are looking at a set from 5/6 weeks ago, or nails the client ripped off/didn't take care of, and then they blaming the nail tech who did it... Just why the need to talk like that about other's work when you just cannot even tell what the set was like originally or what happened in between... So yes, thank you for that, i loved that detail!
lol, that’s like a tourist visiting the ruins of ancient Greece and leaving an angry Yelp! review complaining that they’re old and broken 🤣 “2/10. what a dump. everything crumbling and in disarray. these bozos couldn’t even build architecture that LASTS!”
I could go more than 4 wks without a fill (but I don’t) just because my nails grow SO slowly, but I HAVE to do my moms every 2 wks or she has stress fractures. It’s crazy how different everyone’s growth is different.
Mine are like your mom's. As I've gotten older, mine also will have growth spurts. One day they'll be okay and the next they'll be completely outgrown, so I have to do mine usually every 7-10 days as the 14 days is really too long for sure now.
@@Mir_Nohti Yeah. Two weeks is kind of pushing it for her too. We’ll be busy with other stuff & she’ll say, “If nothing else, we need to take this stuff off.” Me, on the other hand, I’ll go ahead & do the tiniest of fills, just because I want to change my design & do my cuticle care. Lol
@@michellew97 I get your mom's sentiment of just wanting them off if there was no time/ability to get them serviced properly... they literally become a liability and become dangerous. Yes, like you I also really like the freedom to do what I need or want to do with my nails at my own pace and schedule. I would hope more people seek education and training like that of Anastasia's as well as seek to use products that are at least HEMA-free, but use all products and equipment with respect to avoid allergies and other unwanted exposures or consequences. In any event, your mom is fortunate that you know how to correct her nails properly. Believe me when I say that it seems like a rarity! Such a thoughtful daughter! 💝
BEAUTIFUL job, Anastasia! I do not understand the debate with "real" nails vs fake or nail extensions. To each their own, I say. Mine are short w/gel polish as I am on a computer all day. But I appreciate however someone wants to wear their nails.❤❤❤
Ooh I’m here early! I love love LOVE this design! Inlays are so beautiful and also it makes up for the fact that your client’s natural nails getting cut, they couldn’t stay in order to have this design. Amazing work as always🙌
Yes, finally, nails like mine!! 😆 I really wish I could grow them long naturally, especially since they grow quicker than average, but they grow upwards and flatten. I LOVE almond extensions! 🥰
They look beautiful😍😍 Some time ago I went to the manicurist and I wanted long, extended nails. She refused and told me I had bad nails to do them. I don't bite my nails and they are in good shape. I decided to invest in good products and do my own nails. I have learned a lot from you, for which I am very grateful!❤️
The outcome is absolutely beautiful. Tfs🙂🥰.. oan I'm glad the client agreed to cut down her natural nails. They were definitely long but not in good shape they needed to go. It's just like having super long hair yet the hair has a ton of split ends, chemical damage and breakage.
Two takeaways here. First on the whole "anything unnatural is from the devil" thing. Hardly anyone is 100% natural these days. Hair dye, makeup, nails (even natural nails with polish), pierced ears, necessary things like glasses or hearing aids... all those things aren't "natural". But it's only women who get shamed for being "unnatural" somehow. I wish more people would take a "live and let live" approach to life. If you're an adult and what you're doing isn't hurting anyone and it makes you happy, then I say go for it! Secondly, as for this nail transformation, they came out looking loads better! At this point the only way to fix these nails and have any length was to cut them all off and do extensions like you did. This is why I don't understand why so many people get so attached to keeping their natural nails. I've said it in one of your comment sections before and I'll say it again (and probably keep saying it lol) - very few people are blessed with perfectly straight and strong natural nails. Most of us have at least a couple that grow in an undesirable way. There's so much more that can be done with extensions whereas with an overlay, you're faced with certain limitations. Give me fake all day every day! 😂😂
I’m so glad I saw this today! I’ve been growing out my natural nails for a while but one broke the other day. I wanted to use BIAB to do an extension on the short nail instead of cutting them all short but when I told my my mum she was mortified! Needless to say I’m gonna do the extension anyway and show mum they actually look great!
There were natural nails before extensions. I have had long nails since I was a teenager. I started doing my nails during the lockdown and let them grow out by using extensions now that they are the length I want I use acrylic overlay.
Stunning!! I thought I was weird before I started watching nail videos because my nails grow down or to the side. I was so happy to see that was normal. I do extensions to counteract that as well.
Just finished watching the end of your video and I got to say that them nails look mint. Their gorgeous nail design. And the shape of the nail is very nice aswell, as I like the shape of it. You’re a really talented nail technician.
I love this set so much. I have watched this video like 10 times. So pretty. I always tell myself that I am going to copy it. BUT then I use too much glitter and don’t leave clear spots. Next set I am only bringing out flakes, 1 glitter and shells. Thanks for the idea. 😄💅🏽✨🐚
Amazing work! I love the design and wish someday I'll be at least 10% as good as you! Can't wait seeing you doing a similar design on yourself and tips and tricks how to work with your non-dominant hand.
Very nice job! These are beautiful. I would love to see the nails a bit more from the sides during the video. I have VERY ski slope nails, so bad that I can’t even let them grow out a bit or they look so odd. So I use full cover tips and it’s a better way for me to keep the downward look. I have to change them out before 3 weeks though.
As long as the client gets regular fills, won't the hard gel prevent the new growth from deforming? Or does it depend upon how hard a client's natural nails are (thicker, inflexible nails will deform regardless; thinner, flexible nails may not)?
True, it may help a little, but usually if the grow is "extreme" upwards, it will remain like this as it depends on the ligaments tension inside the finger. However, curving of the free edge and some other things may become less noticeable overtime when having gel/acrylic extensions consistently
@@Nailcou Thank you for the reply! I'm right-handed, and all of the nails on my left hand grow normally. But in my right hand, my thumb & ring fingernail freeedges fold down on the left side (as I look at them). My index fingernail freeedge is ski-jump. My middle fingernail freeedge bends down. But my right pinkie nail grows normally. It's weird!
I have ski jump nails after they are exposed to open air? If that makes any sense at all, lol. As long as I have product on my nails, you can't notice it and I can grow them out so that I'm only doing a builder gel overlay. But as soon as it's time to remove all product for a fresh set, despite my nails not being ski jump with old product, they start to curl up immediately. Every four or five fills, I just cut off all my growth and start fresh because I know I will be left with my natural nails all ski jump. It amazes me how well you file away all the product- I spend hours trying to make sure that I remove all the product before I can even start doing prep for that new set, because of this I prefer to do infills so I have the mental energy to do some kind of design after. I love your videos, thank you for sharing your techniques and how to correct ski jump nails! My hands would not look as decent as they do without your videos to teach me.
Every 12-14 months I'll have my nails cut down and tips put on with acrylic. Usually within a month, I'll go in for a fill and the tips will be cut off and thus starts my overlay. If I don't get a new set done every year or so, my nails will start to curl around my finger tips. It caused the edges of the overlay to lift 🤷♀️
I have a deep c curve in my natural nails that's why I do overlays because they were growing away from the tip I'm finding they are doing this with the overlay too.
My nails have the opposite problem, they grown downwards. So much so these days that I hardly can grow them out without them starting to feel uncomfortable or get in the way/break easily 😥
