- Bridgwater have held a carnival in there town for over 400 years. It has changed from revellers with fire lanterns to what we have today through the passion of the towns people to keep our carnival alive.
In my opinion it is the best free show in the country and attracts thousands of people every year! I have been so lucky to have grown up around carnival and vagabonds carnival club
Hi, I saw you whilst I was at Bridgwater Carnival, I loved your cart, I have Autism. all my love from Amelia
A very good Monday morning to you all from Wellington Somerset
Just watched all the carnivals on you tube ,just amazing, well done all,
Float looked awesome, you English know how to enjoy holiday...^~^_✓
Hi Jemma. Thanks for this interesting & informative video on how the Vagabonds CC prepare for Bridgwater Carnival. That narrow lane that leads to & from the shed must be stressful to tow the amazing carts down. I've been down there on a bicycle ride, and it's a boneshaker. The Luxor cart was awesome, as are all the Vagabonds carts. They're up there with the best of the Bridgwater Clubs. 👍💥👌
Thanks from all the vagabonds your comment is appreciated. Take care , and happy Christmas.
This has genuinely made me think about coming to at least one of the shows next year. My little girl would love it I reckon.
Jemma you are amazing in what you do for the carnival and your own work as a truck driver. I'm proud of you ❤
Another great show this year Jemma well done to you and all the team. Thank you for what you all do. Best Wishes.
❤❤❤❤ That was nice I like all the lights god did a very good job🎉
Hi Jemma, A great vidio, many years ago as a truck driver for over 37 years I came across the Bridgewater carnival, I swore I would bring my wife and kids to see this marvellous wonder you put on, so in the early 2000s, I tried but we could not find a hotels with vacancy’s, so we drove (wife did some of the driving ) from Stevenage in Hertfordshire to see the carnival and then drove back after it finished , a very long day but my wife and kids loved it .
Hi, it's best to book early. Also, try a little distance away, so it's not a long drive back , but glad you all enjoyed watching. Take care
Those carnival trailers are really cool
Just WOW!. That looks incredible.
I used to collect UPVC frames out the place next door to your shed, didn’t know it was a carnival club just thought it was a joinery workshop lol. That lane isn’t the best so fair play to you and your dad getting them out without damages
Very cool 🎉think this needs a visit next year 😊
The drive from the shed to the main road looked pretty difficult, because of the narrow lane, but you were flawless with your tractor. The combination turned out fantastic, the Egyptian theme was a very good choice. It's obvious the carnival is a well organized event, where everybody knows what to do. The crowd along the route was massive and I'm sure they really enjoyed the colorful vehicles. You, your dad and the whole team did a fantastic job and thanks to your efforts everything was a big success. It's great we could look behind the scenes. Awesome work and vlog Jemma. 🥰😄
Just love carnival all the carts are brilliant this year fantastice efforts by everyone
Brilliant Jemma great work from the carnival club👏👏
Thank you for taking the time creating this excellent 'behind the scenes video' extremely interesting how much dedication and work that goes into making all this happen, fantastic cart this year and love the fact you used a great older track and not used a modern one. There are so many great tracks gone by that get forgotten about so full marks for this, look forward to another vid in this years procession if you are doing one, Superb! :)
That's a helluva parade, with all the lights, design and construction. Good work, Beautiful Jem, and I'm glad your dad's "retirement ride" was a good one.
Absolutely fantastic! Love it, well done!
ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT A CREDIT TO ALL INVOLVED. THANK YOU LOVELY LADY. ❤
great to see the hard work involved in the carnival carts. Glad the weather got better in Bridgwater for you all as rain and wind was strong when I passed my class 1 in the town on the Thursday before this years Carnival. Keep up the hard work Jemma
Stunning cart, well done to everyone involved. I've been waiting for this vid and it hasn't disappointed, it has cheered me up on what
is a sad day for me. Thanks for sharing Jemz. ❤
Nice too see one of our tractors being used I work for new Holland
Thank you. It's looks a bit different now 😊 take care
Hi Jemma thanks for yet again another very professional video congratulations to your Dad and the crew - we all always look forward to your vids and the variety you bring to us all stay safe Malc uk 🇬🇧 😊
Lovely insight to all the hard work by the carnival crew before, during and after Jemma. We lost our Carnival in Yeovil so Bridgewater is the nearest to go to. Thanks for loading and sharing this.
Absolutely fantastic cart, everyone that have been working on it or supporting it in any way should be super proud of themselves, same goes for all the other carts as well. Bringing some joy and smiles is always a good thing.
Wow! I am gobsmacked, never seen anything like it in my life! Are these carnivals on every year down in the South west? The cart was absolutely fantastic, an amazing achievement. I cannot imagine the amount of work involved in building it, congratulations to everyone involved. Thanks for posting Jemma. x
Yes, they are put on every year. Bridgwater is the first one of 7. Please look up sumerset carnivals this will give you the dates and times of each carnival. Take care
I've never been to Bridgewater carnival. I think I might make an effort to go next year.
Number one local tonight and your band from here
My first time there this year, fantastic show and squibbing was amazing
I have loved your cart this year. As a fan of carnival I appreciate everyone’s hard work they put in every year. Everyone should be super proud with what they have achieved this year!
Great team work guys. Be proud of yourselves.
Very good video, people can see how much work goes into the carnivals. Cart was impressive. We came down from Herefordshire to Weston- super mare but your generator must have failed. Must be gutting when it goes wrong after all the work that goes in.
So glad you watched and enjoyed it. We did have some problems, but the A team was on it the next day, problems solved and ready for the rest of the carnivals. Just Wells tonight, Friday, and Glastonbury on Saturday, but the work is not done then as the cart gets taken back to Bridgwater. Sunday, the cart gets put back into the shed to be striped. Light bulbs are the first job. So, there is plenty to keep everyone busy. Take care
Thanks Jemma that was a great insight to what's involved fantastic work everyone
Wow what an amazing video its really interesting to see all of the teamwork and effort that goes on behind the scenes having been at spectator you don't fully understand how much is involved. You and all your colleagues should be really proud of each other as should all the other carnival teams. 👏👏👌
You can tell you are born for this, it's definitely in your blood -- excellent & calm, professional driving.
Cracking one. Lot of time ⏲️ and effort gone into showing a nice cart. Thanks again jemma and a well done to all involved

😂 you would think, but they have had a few problems, so John, Barry, Lee, Chris, Mike, and jemma has been busy fixing things. I think they are ready for a rest. Take care
@@janettewarren3062 You too Mrs W 😃
I saw you at all the carnivals so far jemma. At burnham I thought you were dressed up really good as the driver.
Amazing to see the work that goes into getting ready
My first proper job was working at BCL from 86-89 and of course being from outside of Somerset had no idea what carnival was until first time and the glow that would come from parkway I lived in the then new estate opposite cellophane car park
Excellent! The first time I saw the Carnival, it was in Bristol, I was amazed at the length of the floats, and complexity of them. Well done to all in the team!
What a fabulous effort by you all, absolutely stunning cart.👍
You're No. 1 when I'm checking my Lotto games, about as much chance as e.g. getting Hockey Ball/s sausaged between double Tyres on Wheels on an Axle
What a great video - love to see it! 🎉
What can one say, another fine video. But most of all another great carnival and carnival float. .Although you did not win , it's the taking part and friendship that matter. Well done Jemma and team and happy birthday to your Dad.
you drive the best tractor. nice
Thank you for taking us to carnival, we done have this type of of event in my part of the world,
nice words and a heartwarming tribute to your dads carnival-journey over a lot of years
That was such an amazing video! Many years ago i was briefly in the carnival and i really want to get back into it. Its so inspiring watching your video and seeing all the work you guys do as i used to just turn up, dance on the cart and go home. So much respect for you all and btw, what a great cart! Well done yall! ❤
I love the vagbonds carnival cart
Spotted you (I think) leaving Coneygarth Truckstop earlier today (21st. NOV. '23) as I was going in.
Ryan’s a lucky man
Hi Jemma I didn't know you was a tractor driver as well 😂😂 I drive a John Deere on the arable farm where I work 👍 Absolutely brilliant that carnival float well done to all involved....keep up the good work Jemma...superb video's 👍👍
Many thanks Jemma, Congratulations to your Dad on a job well done and the Cart Crew. Brilliant. Take care.
It's amazing that your club built the cart its a piece of art ❤
What a heritage, please explain more about this parade.
there are 7 guy fawkes carnivals - bridgwater, north petherton, Wells, Glastonbury, Shepton mallet, weston Super mare and Burnham on sea. I'm pretty sure that the clubs are the same in each carnival but I could be wrong. they celebrate the event of guy fawkes failing to blow up parliament. it's claimed that these 7 carnivals are some of the biggest illuminated carnivals in the world. they last for around 2 hours and theres a massive variety of theming throughout the carts. the club that won this year was ramblers cc (they won last year too)
Once again a really interesting video, lovely to see local people getting involved in community events. The carnival carts are amazing and a testament to everyone's hard work. An excellent commentary from your good self and a fantastic final drive from your dad.💖💖
Thank you. Yes, these carnivals are good for the community it's like a man shed, but for anybody, it's good that you can learn new skills while meeting friends. Like measuring out the distances for the electric to jigging out the holes for the socket. Cutting out the shapes. It's all there if you want to learn. Take care and thank you
Looks amazing. I’m going to have to come next year
Thanks Jemma, I remember you driving the carnival float last year. You are a very talented bunch!
They are nearly as long as our Road trains here in Australia. Looks like fun.
HI Jemma
what a fantastic carnival , all the hard work put in by everyone on the floats . what a great pleasure it must have been for for Dad to drive the float after all the years he has worked on the truck . The great idea he had of transforming the ford lorry to be able to pull the float.
Look like all your family were took part in the carnival , your dad looked to enjoy having his make up put on.
All the best
Love watching, you do such a nice job. Thanks again. 👋🇺🇸
it was an amazing carnival the whole atmosphere was fantastic you all do an amazing job building and showing thanks for sharing what people don't get to see take care and stay safe
What an incredible effort by everyone involved Jemma - completely spectacular work!!

Fascinating video Jemma thanks for sharing. I love to watch the Carnivals and I’m always in awe of how much time and effort must go into the carts.
I know a few people involved in the various circuits and they all enjoy it very much.

Hi Jemma l love your videos I’m a trucker from Western Australia I drive road trains with 3 trailers long but it’s very interesting that you go Dow some of those narrow roads that would freak me out 😂anyway I would love to sent you a photo of my truck but l don’t know how to on here, keep on trucking and be safe.
David 🇦🇺
Now that was an amazing UA-cam video. Well done to you and your club on a truly fantastic effort in the carnival. You should be very proud of yourself and your family...
Hi Jemma that was stunning your all a great team 🤙🤙🤙🤙
Oh my hat....that is truly magnificent...well done guys ...😊😊🎉❤
Nice one Jemma
Stunning effort from everybody involved in the carnival. Did keep an eye out for you but missed you somewhere when you went by.
Great video Jemma, those floats look amazing.
Hi Jemma. Great video as always. The carts look fantastic.👍
What an awesome video !!! Love the carnival floats and we are missing out up here in Yorkshire. Thank you for sharing this, perhaps we need a road trip next year to catch a carnival.
A great effort by you and the team. I know what it is like trying to organize a local fireworks display in the town I live in so traveling around like you do can be a much harder job.
ANOTHER AMAZING VIDEO AND VERY INTERESTING TO SEE BEHIND THE SCENÈS THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Absolutely brilliant well done xx
Fabulous insight in to "carnival towns", to some one who do'nt have a bleeding carnival no more. Council said they ca'nt get the authorization to shut the roads off. They can stop the sodding roads any time they like. We do'nt live on the M1 !!
Amazing cart Jemma , Dad must be proud . Not sure y you headed the video. Dads last drive . Been there done it myself . The stress at times
But then perhaps , that’s what carnival is all about 😂😂
this was my sisters favourite float
Great show as usual, a lot of hard work for everyone, looks amazing. Well done. 👍👍
Looks fantastic well done to you all. 👏
Amazingly how much goes into this, thank you Jemma for all the info
