Great video Alf!!!
Thanks so much Karl
Hi. Excellent video, thanks for making it. For anyone needing to do it quickly and doesn't have the 36mm nut tool yet, remove the top muffler and use a 36mm socket. Hope this helps. Regards.
Thanks. I bought the tool today via eBay after watching your video. 2-3 weeks wait so I removed the muffler today on my 2022 Softail Street Bob, so I could make the adjustment now. Your video helped me do it. Thanks again.
Cool video
Cheers
Maybe I need to do this as I’ve been getting a whinging noise after I’ve been riding for say an hour, was told it’s probably because my belt tension is wrong and belt goes too tight after the bike heats up, any thoughts ?
Excellent job Alf. Those belts some are either too loose or way too tight they don't take the time to get them on the money at a HD dealership. Save a lot of money and headaches by adjusting the belt or just checking it.
Yes so true, cheers
Ho much tension do you put on the belt
With such a small adjustment do you really need to lift the back wheel?
Wondering why in the service manual it says nothing about raising the bike up when making the adjustment? Makes total sense to do it though
Yep there are some oddities in there
What is the reason the adjustment is not made with the riders weight on the bike ?
weirdly some are and some are not
💯
The answer to this may be obvious. Say you were to accidentally apply too much tension to your belt. Is loosening it as easy as simply backing out the adjuster screws? I’m a complete amateur and while I haven’t done this, I’m sure it’s not outside the realm of mistakes one is capable of making
