My finals begin tomorrow and one of the biggest reasons why I’m passing them is you, not the profs in my college, not the internet it’s just you Zach so thank you so much for all the efforts and passion you put into these videos 💙
My brother passed away at the age of 39 from Acute Respiratory Failure with diffuse alveoli damage, due to aspiration of gastric contents during a seizure event. The para aortic lymph node was enlarged. Any insight into why this happened? He experienced flu like symptoms the week of his passing. Chest pain the day before his passing. Nasal congestion, sore throat. Worst he’s ever felt. Underlying COPD, Emphysema and Asthma. Cyanosis on extremities. Difficulty swallowing and collapsed on the 21st May down the stair, a month before his passing. He says he blacked out. Smoked heavily, 7 hubblys per day. Equivalent of 380g of nicotine over 2 years.

Thank you, Sir, for your easy-to-follow aetiology and the breakdown of ARDS. This is marvellous..
P/F ratio - PaO2/FiO2
PEEP - Positive end expiratory pressure
NMB - neuromuscular blockage
Man you're the best teacher there ever is.

What is P/F ratio? What is P? What is F?what is the normal value? Why is it important to know?
Pao2 and Fio2. It determines how much of a percent of pure oxygen a person needs to be on to maintain Sao2. For teference room air is 21%.
Gosh! You are genius!❤
Thanks a lot
When plateau pressure is high, won't you have to decrease PEEP instead of tidal volume in avoidance of barotrauma?
Thank you so much ❤ I really love you and your videos ❤
