I have a stock 1986 Chevy pu with a Quadrajet carb. It doesn’t want to idle after it warms up or if I turn the a/c on. The idle speed solenoid does move out when the key is energized. Any ideas? After turning the “bolt” that comes out of the solenoid about half a turn it does idle better but when I go to turn off the vehicle it “diesels”, wants to keep running. I’ve also changed the EGR valve, pcv, plugs/wires, rotor/cap and checked for vacuum leaks. Still not sure why it won’t idle. Any help would be great. Thank you.
engine stock? What quadrajet code number? Is the carb original to your truck or has it been replaced? Check your choke system for proper operation. Adjust your idle mixture screws properly and your engine timing.
I bought some parts from you in the past thanks for keeping these old carbs alive
Are the nails the secret to carburetor repair? I'm willing to learn.
😂
Buy yourself a pair of flush nip cutters from dorman, Titan or Klein and you'll love them for stuff like this
Thanks for the information!!
Does the small step go up or down? This video wasn't very clear...

I tried emailing you guys the other day about a carb and did not get a response

Sent one just now about a 7043208 quadrajet. 👍🏻
I have an early 70s QuadraJet with the divorce choke... want to change intake manifold, but keep the same carburetor. Is there a way to do this?
You could go to a manual choke or no choke system.
Is there a later QuadraJet with an electric choke that's comparable? If so, what would be the part number?
