this movie confused me so much, sometimes i felt like floriane could’ve had at least some feelings for her, and other times i felt like she was just straight up using marie

i feel like she's one of the most complex teenage characters i have ever seen. she doesn't want to be sexualized but at the same time she likes the attention she gets from it. my guess is that because of her liking of the attention and marie's obvious provision of it, she befriends marie. also the fact that she's hated by most girls and now marie treats her differently. there were many implications in the movie which insinuated that she liked marie back, like for example when marie got angry with her and she went for her, the first time we see her facade breaking. marie's also the only one whom i think she confided in about the real status of her sexual life. also marie's her first, so i really think that marie meant something to her. i read somewhere that in the kiss, we can see floriane being more into the kiss than marie, and even she was shocked by it. however, she doesn't want to ruin her image, so she didn't come out.

This happened to me. I fell in love with this girl from my old school, a beautiful light ginger haired girl with dreamy brown eyes. My feelings for her slipped out once when we were talking. She told me she liked me back… and even though it all happened to fast I believed her. We became a couple a few weeks later and life couldn’t be better. We kissed. We hung out everyday. We hugged all the time. Then one day, I was going into the girls locker room to get changed, (we both did Karate together) and I saw her with a boy. They were kissing. I couldn’t believe what I had saw. I felt as if I was going to pass out. I ran out the locker room crying. When the teacher asked me what was wrong, I sped out the place. I couldn’t believe the girl I loved with all my heart was cheating on me. When she texted me later asking about where I went, still flirting like nothing had happened, I told her everything I had saw with her and that boy. She said she didn’t want me to find out but she wasn’t into girls. She just loved how it felt when someone liked her. She didn’t even seem sorry. Honestly, even a year later I’m still so mad at her. I feel for Marie. I hope everyone here meets a better person than my ex.

Unknown Queen ya I rlly wanted to watch it but I started watching it and noticed it was in like French or something
omgggg I managed to see it, but only with Spanish subtitles, it was a little bit wierd hahaha
am i the only one who’s actually quite fond of the ending? sure i would’ve loved it if they ended up together (as we don’t see much of that often), but i do admire that they chose to take the more realistic side of first loves, of young love. if anything, that wasn’t a sad ending at all, but i suppose that does depend on how you choose to see it. from how i saw it marie was miserable for most of the time that she was with her, and i’m glad to see the scene where she was floating in the pool with her best friend, as i think it represents acceptance and her finally coming to terms that she just couldn’t truly have floriane.
they were both so immensely young, she has so much love for her and the other one took advantage of that (which might be caused by immaturity or perhaps it’s just simply in her nature). but then again, it also isn’t difficult for me to understand, perhaps not fully but some part of floriane, because at her age she probably hasn’t fully grasped her self yet.
although it may have not been in the same level, but i prefer to think that the love between them was mutual.
it was still a sad ending for me because after all, Marie gave everything she has for Floriene. However, I like how it ends as well because both bestfriends realized that not all love is easy, cute, and fluttery all the time. And I agree, this is a very realistic representation of innocent yet genuine first love

I think the ending is perfect and is a great example that you don't always need big payoffs in a movie, or to give the audience exactly what they want.
This movie was made in 2007 and still looks so timeless and aesthetic pleasing. 10/10

i am going to share my story. In 8th grade i fell in love with my best friend at that time, nowadays i don't think of her as my bff but i still have feelings for her. I am so fk confused because i don't even know if i really fell for her or if it was another thing. All i know is that we never talked about it but i know she felt something too, we understand each other. I adore that girl, i really do and i'm scared of never letting go of that. We already graduated high school and i miss her so much, i have an unhealthy obsession with her it's fk crazy. That situation in 8th grade messed me up forever cause im unable to connect with guys, i literally can not do it and i likee guys. I wish i never met her

i know exactly how you feel. i fell in love with my best friend as well and i actually told her but the problem was she would never tell me how she feels but i know that she loved me too. its difficult when someone is not intuned with their own feelings and emotions. so she led me on for a year and a half, having me believe that eventually we would get together but we never did. I actually came out because of her. I felt like if i was in the closet it would be very hard to try and hide my relationship with her so i came out basically for that reason.
It took her a year and a half to tell me that her feelings just became 'dull' and it really fucked with me cus, you waited all this time (mind u, she let me sit in her lap, and we even did some sexual stuff) to tell me that ur feelings are...dull?? it was easy yo get over her tho. But let me tell you, i was in love with my best friend in the beginning but after a while,, it became an 'obsession'. not for her but for love. i was in love with being in love. i enjoyed the feeling it gave me. idk if that has anything to do with the fact that i was still being abused at that time in 8th grade but i was obsessed with the IDEA of her, not just her as a person and thats when it becomes a problem.
it was easy to get over her because once we got to 10th grade it was clear she was different. hung out with new people, smoked weed and cigarettes, started acting different around certain people to PLEASE OTHERS. I believe she still does this to this day so im currently in my senior year, but she still comes to my job. im doing virtual school so i dont see her alot like never unless she comes to my job.

Once you fell in love you want to feel like that over and over again because it just feels so good, it's really unexplainable. The sad part about my experience is that it'll always be especial somehow because it was the first.
I wanna believe i'm over her but then again i can't help but think of her sometimes, because i like the idea of being with her, hanging out with her, laughing with her. Marie had an crazy obsession for her and Floriane for sure knew that she had a crush on her. I feel really bad for Marie because she was toyed all the time, Floriane probably felt something at some point but in the end she chose herself. In the last sccene, when Marie is looking to the ceilling she finally realised that she could never have Floriane for her.
