Beautiful sound from this guitar. The thing I like about your video's is, you don't talk, you simply play in your own wonderful style. It seems obvious to most guitarist's the reason you use the same Amp/Gear is to reflect the true sound of the guitar's you play. Keep up the good work, I love the true organic sounds you get from your guitars, action speaks louder than words.
I like the fact that Gregor does not talk and plays whatever guitar and/or amp. His Redplate amp demo is great for those of you who want a somewhat different sound. I personally abhor videos where someone talks incessantly about the amp or guitar that is being demonstrated. They should just shut up and play!
Wynn Woodard I agree 100% That's why I love this Channel. There's never biased opinions or any blah, blah, blah. Just a Man and Guitar. Its refreshing.
I have the same year in cherry red, with trapeze. I think it's one of the best sounding 335's I've ever played, even without the stoptail conversion. Sustains forever, and has a beautiful, airy sound...I think I'll keep her!
I hate to say it ...but I just discovered Greg . I am glad to say I did ... Man was that a moving solo ...I could listen to this man forever ...Well done Greg Cheers from Canada Dave Alberta
This guitar has the Peter Green 'mod'. One of the magnets has been flipped over 180 degrees and this is how you get the PG sound when both pickups are active. This was never intended by Gibson and it is not a stock option, but it sounds great and it's fully reversible. Snowy White's famous Gold Top Les Paul had the same mod.
Sounds like out-of-phase in the middle position ... LOVIN' that! Gibsons usually vacuum with both PUPs running equally and in-phase.But he might just have more back PUP running than an equal volume ....
Need Greg's hand to lead it through the vid I need this neck to hold and squeeze it tight Now, when the vid begins, whoa, I'm at an end Because I need your love so bad Oh, oh, Oooooh. I need this guitar so bad! Way to go Greg!!
This guitar originally had a trapeze tailpiece if it is really a 1969. It must have been converted to stoptail at some point. Not that the conversion is a bad thing, after all, Larry Carlton's is a convert. I however, like my cherry red '69 just the way it is... trapeze and all. There is just something about those pat# pickups that ring so clear and bright!
KOMIMAKOJAKETU, YES THEY FLIPPED ONE OF THE MAGNETS AROUND IN PETER GREEN'S GUITAR BY ACCIDENT, BUT WHEN THE NECK PICKUP WAS INSTALLED THEY PUT IT IN BACKWARDS, CHECK OUT THE SCREW POSITION IN THIS GUITAR, IT IS PUT IN CORRECTLY, BIG DIFFERENCE, BECAUSE I DID THIS TO ONE OF MY LES PAUL'S, BIG DIFFERENCE, DO A LITTLE HOMEWORK AND YOU WILL SEE, BUT THE THE GUITAR SOUNDS AWESOME, CHEERS, COUSIN FIGEL
They were the days when ES335’s were a once and done guitar! The 335’s Gibson puts out today are garbage. It’s the wood more than the electronics I think. The wood, the glue, the finish and the sheer workmanship.
greg im always admire your style and taste in the music just one question i need your guitar tone so bad this my goldie picture on my profile what was the pedals that you used thanks man
All of your guitar videos sound the same. Sorry but there must be some processing or something you're doing to the natural tone. Try talking or something so people get a feel for the sound before you play.
Zachary Coleman Yeah, it would be cool if he'd match some semi-hollows, Gibsons solidbodies, and hollowbodies into different amps (Vox, vintage Marshall...) . Each of the guitars he tests are plugged in his same Fender amp, all sounds simply like Greg, almost outshining the guitar model. No offense to him , just constructive criticism
+Zachary Coleman Exactly, that's what people often overlook. Most of the sound comes from fingers, not effects amps or guitar. A good guitarist is good and will sound pretty close on an Epiphone as well as on a 5,000$ Gibson. Sure the rig WILL make a difference but not that of a difference.
Same guy playing pretty much blues and usually through the same amp, but if you're listening the guitars all sound different. I think that's the point. I believe Greg sells guitars. But if you like how he plays, it's all good, and it is. I love watching his videos and seeing/hearing all these amazing guitars.
1ner der besten und Gefühlvollsten Gitarristen die ich je hörte!
Why on earth would you 'thumbs down' this? Amazing Gregor. Tone, touch, taste.
The world is filled with mis-guided lovers of chaos ...

Hello Greg. Awesome strumming. Can’t stop listening to you all the time. Thank you so much

Very nice choice and technique taking on Peter Green. Most people won't recognize "Need Your Love So Bad". Love the 335 as well.

Right-on, brother ...
That is Peter Green's solo on Need Your Love So Bad. Very similar tone & almost note for note. Greg is a soulful player.
It sure is.

lovely guitar:)
Thanks . I use a cheap food scale for guitars.. 7.5 pounds are some of the lightest ever built . 8.5 - 9. 5 is more common . Nice guitar.indeed.

2 questions: stock pickups (what kind)? What kind of strings (rounds, or flats? what
gauge)?
Wow!! Wow!!
That one looks like Larry's, Greg. That's good company to be in.
I agree, a criminal and a tease! ahaha love these videos no matter how much they make my heart ache :D
Nice
Greg, my Es 335 has the orange oval label and small volute on neck. How cant I tell if its "69" or "70" year of make? Does it matter money wise?
Tasty!!! Tasteful!!!! Tastemony!!!!!!!
This one has Larry Carlton Written all over it!
