Para mi es con mucho el mejor trompetista de la actualidad. Bravo Mathias, espero que sigas tocando al menos durante otros cinco o seis mil años más.
Much more feeling than Winton, however, the best version will always be Andre' on turnabout recordings. I am not, however, disliking this version. Quite the opposite!

Wow, brillianatosioso, Mathias is superb, and Ms Battle is as lovely as her voice. Im 74 years old, and she makes me wish I were 72 again.

He plays so conservative and perfect, just the way it needs to be done.
Although this is a very fine performance by both, I would have to say Kathleen Battle is much better. Matthias Hofs's playing rivals Marsalis's.
It is better than Winton's.
